The Bobbi Brown thread. Bobbi Brown was the first brand that got me excited about makeup. So I'll always have a soft spot for BB. And now Sephora has the amazing 25 year year palette.
Note, the holiday lip shade is sold out on Nordstrom. I'm going to be watching for it on Sephora's site.
Cool! Thx for letting me know. I can't resist! Ugh!
I think I posted about it earlier because I too was eyeing this set lol. Plus the bay has 20 off 100 if you use their credit card. @blackkitty2014 I have been trying to resist! I wonder if they will release this shimmer brick shade on its own?!
There are some new offerings up on BB direct. The chocolate and wine collection, yes please!
Plus, u pick 4 samples with $40 purchase.
If u got the bb reward today, there is a new liner brush if u dont like the one it comes with
More unsolicited swatches. There are the new Brightening Blushes and the Naked Brightening Brick. From top of the arm down is Brightening Blush in Warm Cocoa, Brightening Blush in Pink Truffle, and the Naked Brightening Brick. Just an FYI, Pink Truffle looks like a soft pink in the stock photos on BB's website, but in real life it is more of a soft taupe brown. There is a small strip of pink shimmer in it, but I would definitely day it is more brown than pink. Also, Warm Cocoa has a lot of obvious larger sparkle in it. I thought it was pretty, but I know that obvious sparkle isn't for everyone. I think it might make a great contour shade for fair skin actually.
Edit to my previous post. I think Pink Truffle might make a nice contour shade for fair skin.
@Kelizabethr07 Thanks! I have a $25 off right now ($30 purchase) and am trying t use it...so I don't forget (which I do). I really like these!
@meganlisa what items were you thinking about picking up with your discount?
@Kelizabethr07 I ended up getting the Naked Brightening brick (you helped on that decision, along with a few others who commented earlier that they like it) and Blondie pink lipstick. I was so tempted by these 2 blushes though. They really look lovely!
The Naked Brightening Brick is beautiful so I bet you'll love it 🙂 I am wanting at least one of those blushes too. I'm going to try to wait because last year Bobbi Brown direct did a pretty awesome Black Friday promotion.
@Kelizabethr07 I'll wait and see if they do a like promo this year! I got the gifts they have been offering (brush; mini lipstick) and free shipping, with the $25 off...so it was ok. BB is just so expensive! We need to watch for these specials.
I am excited about the brick though!
@meganlisa Those minis are a great promo, especially the brush. I totally agree that BB is so pricey. I rarely buy anything BB without some kind of promo or discount. Have you used the Gilt $30 off $80 purchase vouchers? I think those are a great way to save some money, but it's hard not to end up spending way more than $80. I hope BB does a good Black Friday promotion again. Let me know what you think of the Naked brick 🙂
@Kelizabethr07 I used the $30 off and then got the $25 promo (for next purchase). The $25 was off a $30 purchase, so was amazing, but free shipping kicked in at $65 (pre discount). So I added the lipstick...and got 2 minis. But it's one of those cycles where you save so much you spend more. Overall, I got a great deal but still spent too much. But I'm excited about the nude brick so it's all good!
@meganlisa I high free shipping minimums like that. BB's is especially annoying bc it fluctuates depending on the promos they are offering at the time.
@Kelizabethr07 At least I got some good promos. Otherwise, I would have gotten nothing. The BB price point hurts. And the makeup is everyday wonderful but rarely makes my heart flutter.
Here are swatches of the new sequin eye shadows. I am super fair and only Golden Chocolate and Rose Gold showed much color on my skin at all. From top down is Golden Chocolate, Silver Heather, Rose Gold, and Prosecco. They are extremely sparkly so I think they would work best as a topper for other shadows.
I bought one of the sequin eyeshadows last year after new SAs tried to figure out how to apply it (it can be used wet or dry). The amount of sparkle irritated my eyes and glitter covered my face. I returned it. I can count on finding some of BB's holiday collection at the CCO, and last year's sequins were no exception.
Thanks for posting swatches and observations about BB's holiday collection..
can any of you give me insight to the difference between the bisque shades and the peach shades of the correctors ?
i just watched this video and thought it was so so lovely. she has such a light hand. simple, light layers. i used to be a bobbi brown girl, years ago. i think i'll revisit some of this soon.
That's always my thought with respect to BB. Light and simple layers. We never go wrong when we go for the natural look. Love the video! Thanks @jemly I have a soft spot for BB.
welcome ! i know i for one can use the reminder of the virtue of a light hand now and again 🙂
@jemly Lately I've been into black and sparkles (thank you estee lauder). So your timing is spot on. A gentle hand can be a wise choice!
