Appropriate lip colors for high school

So I'm going to be a freshman in high school come September, and I'm super excited! Unfortunately I have been in a very strict Catholic school for a while and makeup and nailpolish are not allowed:smileysad: On the upside I have been homeschooled in Florida for the past 2 1/2 years so I know how to(and frequently do!) wear makeup and nailpolish. I was just wondering what some fun and appropriate lipcolors would be for school. I usually tend to go for lipglosses but lipsticks are fine as long as they are not a matte finish(too harsh for me!) Any and all suggestions are welcome and as always, I'll heart everyone who posts:smileyhappy: Thanks!

Tinted lip balms!

Gloss are nice but I hate a thick layer of goop on the lips or dry lips, so I usually go for the tinted lip balms, which will give you some sheer color, moist shine like you just licked your lips, moisture and usually SPF. Sugar Fresh and Maybelline Babylips are 2 good ones. I usually go for the pink and orange.

First I would like to say congratulations! Second enjoy high school, I just graduated and can't believe it went by so fast. Now about the make up don't be scared to play with it. I would suggest let your inner creativity come out and don't be afraid to be bold. I would wear red every once in a while but that's me. Start of slow with nude or light pinks and move your way up into being comfortable with w.e. Shade you choose. Just a little piece of advice, don't worry what everyone else thinks just be yourself and have fun. Good luck on your first day!

Hi!  I second the suggestion for the Buxom and Make Up For Ever lip glosses.  A really pretty lip color that I just discovered is the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N18.  It's a very natural light pink that looks great on light skintones (I don't know what your skintone is).  This lipstick is so moisturizing I don't even have to wear a lip balm under it!  Here's the link:

Hi Gymchic265,

Congratulations on starting your first year of high school! Sticking to muted pinks, mauves, and beige lip products are all nice options for subtle daytime looks. For gloss my go-to favorites are Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish, Make Up For Ever Lab Shine Lip Gloss, and Lancome Juicy Tubes. All three brands have a huge range of colors that are multidimensional and have a nice texture.

Bite has an entire line of cream lipsticks, which look beautiful under any of the lipgloss brands that I've listed above. For a look that isn't glossy extreme apply your lipstick and then add a small dab of gloss to the middle of your lower lip. Rub your lips together gently for a semi-glossed defined pout.

Buxom - Buxom® Big & Healthy™ Lip Polish

MAKE UP FOR EVER - Lab Shine Lip Gloss

Lancôme - JUICY TUBES SMOOTHIE - Ultra Shiny Lip Gloss

Bite Beauty - Luminous Crème Lipstick

Whimsically yours,
Janine

Yay for starting high school. You have to look fabulous! I like Cliniques Chubby Stick, they have lots of colors and they are moisturing but not super shiny or pigmented. Just some light color on your lips. Fresh Sugar has a rose tinted lip balm I like too. Have fun in high school!

Fresh's Sugar Lip Treatment sounds like a good way to go. It's like tinted lip balm with SPF. Gives just enough color and shine and keeps your lips really nicely hydrated!
