Ladies, in the spirit of February being the dead of winter, let's bring some extra warmth to BT. I've noticed many ladies mention over the past few months that they lack the confidence or comfort level to rock a red lip. In that vein, I've decided to do a red lip a day for the next 28 days (or until I run out). Please feel free to pop in and join me by posting a pic of your red lippie, even if you don't want to don a red every day. And who knows, you might even find your next great red this way! Day 1: BITE Beauty Luminous Creme in Poppy Day 2: Shiseido Lacquer Rouge 417 Sanguine (I did not consider that I would need reds to complement a developing tan...oops!) Day 3: BITE Beauty Matte Lip Crayon Maraschino Day 4: Hourglass Opaque Rouge Icon (for my trip I only packed minis, so pretty much all GWP Day 5: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Beso Day 6: BITE Beauty High Pigment Pencil Pomegranate Day 7: BITE Beauty Luminous Creme Scarlet Day 8: Dior Rouge Dior 999 Day 9: BITE Beauty High Pigment Pencil Meritage and NYX Butter Gloss Cherry Pie (Meritage was described as a brick red, but even with the red gloss it still looks really pink to me) Day 10: NARS Hardwire (LE) Deadly Catch Day 11: Clinique Chubby Stick Mightiest Maraschino Day 12: Urban Decay Revolution FBomb Day 13: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Cruella Day 14: MUFE Artist Rouge N45 Day 15: Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick Frenched Day 16: Buxom Provocateur Day 17: BITE Beauty for Sephora VIB Rouge Day 18: OCC Liptar Matte Harlot Day 19: Guerlain KissKiss Shaping Cream 325 Day 20: OCC Stained Gloss Jealous Day 21: NARS Audacious Olivia Day 22: NYX Butter Gloss Red Velvet Day 23: NARS Audacious Lana Day 24: OCC Metallic Liptar Role Play Day 25: NARS Audacious Bette Day 26: OCC Matte Liptar NSFW Day 27: NARS Audacious Leslie (not photographing true to color, it is a more rusty red IRL, but I waited too late to photo, and now the good daylight is gone) Day 28: OCC Metallic Manhunter liptar Day 29: NARS Audacious Rita Day 30: NARS Audacious Jeanne
not sure if it's been posted anywhere. If it has sorry. Since the reviews aren't great and all regarding the formula and that. I have still considered ordering. But I thought I'd try to find something similar first. Im on the hunt for ABH LL dupes. Especially similar to the milkshake shade. Anyone one know of anything similar to it or to any of the shades actually???
Chanel has reformulated their Rouge Coco line and released a whole new set of Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating lipsticks. They are available on the Chanel website (where I got mine), but should be available at Nordies and other stores apparently by the end of this month. Per Chloe's nudging, I am starting this thread so people could post swatches and discuss the lipsticks. It is marketed as a hydrating and pigmented lipstick - and that is exactly what it is (not longwearing and not matte). It is sheerer than their Rouge Allure line though, and feels like you are applying a lipbalm. As it is quite emollient, some might need a lipliner, I am not sure (swatch first). Here are the swatches of the colours I own: Gabrielle - red Emilienne - berry Ina - fuschia pink Jean - purple/violet Marie: - pinky nude on me Dimitri - Fuschia pink I have put all swatches in one post so it is easy to compare.
Beauties, how Audacious have you gotten? I need to get some of these and am going to swatch tomorrow. If you have Audacious lippies, show us what colors you've picked up, and share what other colors you're still lusting after. Just from looking at swatch sheets last month, (on Temptalia I think) I saw about 15 I wanted How about you? Also, hat tip to jemly for inspiring this thread ETA: My current roster below. Hi - I have been wearing Clinique's Rose Aglow lipstick for years. But it seems like the color has been discontinued. What is a good substitute? I'm really bummed---it was the perfect color for me. - Leslie
Hi BTers! Last time I posted a thread that I had too many red lippies and don't know what to do with them. Yesterday, I finally depotted them and made a custom lip color. I want to share this experience/idea. Here are two colors I got Picture above shows the actual color. Lip swatch looks much lighter becuase of the lighting. For the first color, I used more nudes and less reds. Pigmentation is really great and texture is fantastic! It is not too creamy, not too matte and not too glossy. It feels semi-matte on lips but it shines like cellophane. The second color came out with more red tone because I ran out of nude lippies I am going to fix this color later because I started this experiment because I wanted to get rid of reds Here's my tip from this experience: don't use too much heat when you melt your lippies. I burnt a little bit of it. Try using a candle. Make sure that you wear gloves, for it stains on hands so much. You may consider mixing it with pigment powder to control color intensity. I found it a bit tricky to control the color intensity only with lipsticks. If you want more moisturizing texture, put some lipbalm in it. I only used new / unused lippies for this because I heard that melted lipcolors could have more bacteria. Also, I will use up my colors quickly. If you're going to make yours, I recommend you to use unused lippies as well.
SO EXCITED!! 11/28/14, they are coming out with 50 LE miniature lipsticks, selling at $32 each. I need them all. A snippet from an article about them: " In the Lips & Boys lineup, there are 10 shade ranges, encompassing nude browns, violets and plums, metallics, reds and light pinks. The high-pigment shades are done in a base of soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil. Thirty-six offerings are new shades; 10 are from Velvet Suede, Ford’s current seasonal color story, and four are from previous seasons. Ford predicted bestsellers will include Tomas, a coral hue; Matthew, a coral pink; Flynn, a light pink; Giacomo, a deep rose, and Patrick, a muted coral pink. Each clutch-size lipstick will retail for $32. The lipsticks can also be packaged in sets of any three hues in the collection."
Seems like liquid matte lipsticks are huge right now and Anastasia is joining the club with a collection of 20 shades, launching Jan 7th on her website and on Macys.com $20 each. Here are the swatches for your viewing pleasure I think the colors are gorgeous and there are at least three shades I know I will be buying. What do you think? EDIT: I basically stalked Norvina (Anastasia's daughter) because she's been wearing those lippies and testing them for I while and I got you some pictures so you can see how gorgeous these actually look... which might be not a good thing for us. I need swatches!!! As I see the new collection fly out of stock online, I've been scouring the internet for swatches to get a better feel of how the shades look. Most of them also look to be multiple shades of pink on the Sephora site, which doesn't seem to match up with the shade descriptions provided. Can anyone share their experiences so that, you know, I'm hopefully not compelled to get 18 out of 20 of them?
Ideally I'm looking for something the same color as Too Faced Melted Fuchsia. I would prefer liquid, but the formula isn't as important as the color match. I've included a picture of me wearing Melted Fuchsia in the spoiler. Spoiler (Highlight to read) Suggestions please!
I was poking around on Refinery29 and found this: The description says it will be a whole line of nudes available in Sephora in the end of January. I am not sure how I feel about the "Hand cut bullet" Has anyone heard anything else about these yet? I am intrigued!
Does anyone know which brands at Spehora have gluten free lipsticks? I have celiac disease and shoiuld use a gluten free lipstick. I would love to be able to walk into a Sephora location and know which brands I can use and actually see the shades before I purchase. Thanks!
Anyone out there know of anything similar to KVD's lips in the shades Lullaby (violet), Adora (golden red), and/or Thin Lizzy (copper)? For some reason, I am suddenly taken with those colors. I'd prefer another company's products, but I think these shade/finish combos maybe unique to her. Closest things I can think of is MUFE Rouge Artist Intense. Also, reviewers seem to think her lipsticks are very dry, which I guess is inevitable with metallics, but still... Will be going to Sephora tomorrow afternoon to do some sampling. Any suggestions?
I just received the Clinique long last glosswear, which I love because it is so sticky. I like that the stickiness makes it look like it was just applied for a long time. However, it barely has any color. Does anyone know of a sticky lasting lipgloss that has a medium color coverage. Not extreme color, but enough to make it actually look like there is some color? Thank you
I have light to medium skin that tans easily and dark blonde/light brown hair - and I really want to invest in some dark lipstick! I usually wear bright fuchsias or reds - nothing really dark though so this is outside my comfort zone. Does anyone have any good dark lipstick recommedations?
Hi everyone! I have tried Stila, KVD, and just ordered some from Anastasia's and NYX. Are there any other brands of liquid/cream that you guys would recommend. I just cannot for the life of me get used to tube lipsticks because they get everywhere and I just love the paint quality, pigment, and longevity of liquid and cream lipsticks (the ones that go on like a gloss and dry matte). So far, I love KVD the most because there is literally no transfer and no flaking, but I want more colors! Plus, I was hoping for something cheaper.... I have not tried lime crime (sp?) but found a dupe for it on it aliexpress.com and you can get 36 colors for like $50 or something? But I just don't want to waste money if they are really bad quality! Let me know if any suggestions or lip swatches! Thanks so much and have a great day!
In the past year, I have suddenly developed an allergy to lip products. Know of any hypoallergenic lip products? The only thing I've been able to wear is plain Vaseline - even Chapstick (which I have worn daily since I was a kid) causes a reaction. I need color! HELP!
I am terrible at picking lipstick shades but a lovely Sephora employee turned me onto Clinique's Perfect Plum. Love it. Almost used it all up. Of course they are out of it now. Looking for recs similar to this shade. Thanks!
Okay, ladies why hasn't this been brought up here yet?! I am sure you have all seen these on instagram like I have and I want to know what you all think about these. And if you haven't seen these, try searching "fullips enhancer" and you'll instantly be as intrigued and interested as I am. Does this really work? I would imagine it would temporary, correct??
I've been looking at discussions about the new Chanel collection, La Perle de Chanel, and noticed a lot of people mentioning that they are going to pass on the lip palette b/c they tend to not like them. (Although they didn't state why.) I don't have a lot of lip palettes myself -- I have one from the Sephora Collection and just bought the Chanel Harmonie Levres in Arabesque from this collection (although I haven't really played with it yet). I was wondering why people tend to not like them and what experiences people have had with them.
I've never layered lipstick before. Do you use the lighter or darker color first? Will the colors mix or will the 2nd color just sit on top of the 1st color? I have a purple mauve color and would like to mix it with a nudeish pink color that is too light for me to wear on its own. Will that work?
