Hello there, my pretties! Are we ready for spring yet? I am not necessarily ready for sun ( ), but I know I'm ready to bust out some bright colors and create my own spring magic. Rules are - there are no rules. ( Except - you must have fun! That's obligatory! ) We do feel like brights and pastels during the spring most of the time, but you do whatever you feel like doing. You do you! Try to go through your stash, and introduce us to a new pretty each day. If brights are not your cup of tea, this challenge is an excellent way to try to, well - challenge yourself. But, they are not a must. We are planning on doing this all spring long! Please, feel free to stop by whenever. So... Keep calm and put your lipstick on! My plan ( and goal ) is to shop my own stash. No buying new lipsticks, just giving some love to all my neglected lovelies. Let's see how will that go...
Hey everyone! I have always been sensitive to certain skin/face products, however it has never been this bad. I would say about 75% of lip products that I use cause me to break out in a rash around my lips and cause them to blister. So far the known products that cause a rash are MAC lipsticks, Kylie lip kits, and certain lip balms (like the EOS ones). The ones that I know I am NOT allergic to are Kat von D, and BITE beauty. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or knows what I can be allergic to here. Thanks!
Every bride deserves to feel gorgeous in the event of her wedding. So going all out to hire makeup professionals for bridal makeup or doing the bridal makeup by self, the facial makeup contributes more than 70% of confidence to the bride about her appearance. Understandably, the lips have to do loads and loads of kissing on this day, so the bride or whoever is responsible for making her up must ensure that the lip makeup is such that outlives the several kissing that will necessarily be thrown at it. Brides do not have the luxury of time to stress about issues that could have easily been fixed such as touching up lip makeup. It is absolutely unacceptable for the bride’s lip makeup to fade out or smudge not to mention stain her groom. On this note, it is important to be armed with a number of products that will ensure a long lasting lip makeup that will pass the test of many kisses, eating and even drinking.
For lip color of long lasting value, we are familiar with the usual liquid lipstick. Works like a lip gloss, only that it dries and stays exactly where you want it. With this, the bride feels confident and does not have any worries about smudging or even staining the groom with her lip color. The following are long lasting products for bridal lip makeup:
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
Sephora Creme Lip Stain
Fiona Stiles Color Impact Matte Lip Crayon
Flower Color Proof Long-Wear Lip Creme
Revlon Colorstay Overtime
Here are some expert pieces of advice for how to do a bridal lip makeup that will last long enough: 1. Line the lips: The first hack is to line the lips and with the same lip liner, fill in the entire lip. After this, use your long lasting lipstick on the lips as the first coat and then pat with tissue right before you apply again. 2. Lip gloss rule: If you must apply lip gloss, make it very sparing because it has the tendency of taking off the lip color. 3. Use Lip Stain: it’s best to use a lip stain for the perfect bridal lip makeup. With just a sparing coat of gloss on the stain, you are a go! 4. Prep and Prime: The need for skin and lip preparation before the wedding event is necessary. The fact is that without adequately preparing the lips, only the lip makeup will not do the magic. Just as the skin needs proper prepping, the lips must be well cared for before this day.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a great lip hydrator? Something that has light color but super hydrating? I find that most chap sticks are too drying or they don't last! Any suggestions?? I've tried Dior, Jack Black, and Kaplan. Thank you!
For years I’ve only used Chanel’s Lip gloss, I found their glosses to be the most moisturizing and stayed on for hours. My lips are very sensitive, they have changed their ingredients in the glosses, tried them and the one dried my lips and burned. Looking for a thick, moisturizing lip gloss, not looking for sheer colors nor am I able to wear anything that is “long wear”. I have never been able to wear any lipsticks even if they are noted as moisturizing. I welcome any help. Thank you.
TOMORROW, March 1st, we are introducing a brand new shade of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick! This bright fuchsia beauty is called K-Dub, named after one of Kat's muses. This shade launches tomorrow and will only be available for 48 hours on sephora.com. See below for swatches and watch us swatch live on our Instagram and Snapchat (@katvondbeauty) on 3/1.
Hi everyone, I have been having extra drying and random rashes on my lips for the last 6 months. I have been using on and off the Jack Black lip balm so I never realized that it was the culprit, chalking it down to winter dryness....till this weekend, when I was on travel and I had only the Jack Black lip balm on hand. After my flight and getting to the hotel, I felt my lips to be too dry, so after the shower I put an extra amount of the lip balm on and went to bed. Woke up in the morning to big swollen lips, covered by tiny blisters (no possible food allergies, given that I had brought food from home for the flight). To cut the story short, I started looking at the beauty threads and I discovered that over the years Jack Back has had two very different list of ingredients published for their lip balms. I have been using a sample that did not indicate directly the parabens as ingredient but their lip balm has parabens and hence my reaction (I know I have allergy to preservatives and hence bringing food from him for travel)! I have bought during the VIB sale last year the Jack Black Lip Balm Holiday set and now I am looking at 4 very terrible products for my lips. So two questions: 1) can I return the gift/value box even if it is after the 60days from the purchase date? 2) any suggestions for great lip balms/products that are paraben-free? I know I can use the plain vaseline but petrolatum is not my favorite product.
I love smashbox's always on in the shade "Stepping Out" but I really want to go out and try a almost the same or similar shade from a different brand does anybody know one that is the same or maybe even better than smashbox's? (I have no price point lol) thanks in advance.
I don't think I've ever come across a transfer-proof liquid lipstick that isn't matte. I've tried the Marc Jacobs Liquid Lipstick and the Sephora Luster Matte, but both do not dry down. Actually...now that I think about it, it doesn't even have to be liquid. It can be in solid form as well ! Thanks!
If you're on BeautyTalk, you're probably well-aware of the nude lip trend and may even own a handful (or three) of these shades. While I love the trend, I still can't seem to find my "perfect nude" so I am very excited to start talking more broadly about UnNudes! UnNude lip shades offer a spectrum from standard nude shades to more bold, neutral shades. These are the mauvy brown, deep chocolate, rose-goldy-earth toned neutral shades and they come in a variety of finishes (matte, metallic, creamy and shiny).
Here's the challenge: rock an UnNude lip look between Monday, February 6th- Tuesday, February 28th. No requirement on how often to post but I'm going to try for every weekday!
Keep in mind, this challenge overlaps Valentine's Day so I am also challenging you to change it up by wearing a bold neutral instead of the typical red. (Hint: red is not an UnNude!)
Check the spoiler for examples of some of UnNude shades. Can't wait to see your take on neutral lips!
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
EDIT: I have changed the timing. This challenge will run through the end of February so keep the UnNude looks coming!
I was generously offered a chance to try out Bite's new Lip Pencils by Sephora and received two shades, 010 Rosey Mauve and 022 Rosey Brown. Initially I hesitated because Bite's products typically make my lips break out in a tiny-water-blisters rash, but I thought that since lip pencils tend to have different formulas, I'd give it a try. I have worn 022 twice now and so far, they do seem less drying and chalky than other lip pencils I use. Very smooth and creamy with excellent pigmentation. Yesterday, I wore only lip pencil to dinner, and there was still some colour left on my lips after eating cauliflower fritters, braised beef ribs, and drinking water. This morning, I used the pencil to line and fill my lips before putting on Tom Ford Eric on top, and the pencil evened out my lip colour and was a good base for the lipstick. My reaction to Bite products are almost immediate; I'll usually feel a bit of texture on my lips overnight after wearing a Bite product. So far, no issues... hopefully it stays that way! This is 022 on my lips. It's VERY close to my natural lip colour, maybe just a bit more pinky. I do like colours like these, since they're perfect for nude lipsticks. Note--I do use shea butter on my lips before applying any lip products, hence there's a bit of a sheen.
Hi everyone! I'm in a wedding in August and would like a lipstick that matches my dress - or at least goes with it. I've been searching for a good wine/burgundy lipstick and almost bought NARS Audacious in Charlotte but thought it was too dark. I have Bite Beauty's high pigment lip pencil in Meritage and love how it's a "softer" red - I'd like a wine lipstick that's that type of color. Any suggestions?? For reference, I've attached a pic of the dress below. I also have blonde hair and light/medium skin. Thank you all so much!!
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a pinky nude liquid lipstick that does not have an orange undertone? I am very fair and have found all the liquid lipsticks that I have tried to have an orange undertone. Granted, I have not tried many. Any recommendations?? It would be very much appreciated!
Hi! So I recently bought the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Blackberry Sorbet!! Any advice on what to pair it with in terms of eye makeup, etc.?? I LOVE the color but am absolutely hopeless when it comes to pairing bolder colors with everyday looks. Thanks so much!!!

Hey there! Recently I bought the lip injection lip plumper from too faced and I love it but I'd like to know if it can be worn with lipstick/ lip tints/ lip stains/ etc, or if it can only be worn all by itself. Also, if it can, I'd like to know whether the lipstick goes before or after the lip plumper and how does it differ form wearing it with nothing else on your lips. Thanks!
My lips are dealing with some serious wintertime blues, and they could use some help! Can you recommend any products that could help restore my lips and combat dryness/flaking? You can definitely tell they need help whenever I use a matte lipstick. Thanks!
Hey -- my lips burn a few times a day. Sometimes it's triggered by lip products and sometimes not. But I am CONFUSED because lip products that used to soothe me now TRIGGER the burning -- even wonderful YSL Oil-In-Stick or Melted satin or Urban Decay. Am I allergic to something? What's going on?
