Okay, so most of the time I'm hesitant about wearing lipstick. I have sort of an uneven mouth/lips, and I've always shied away from bright colors because I didn't want to bring attention to it. Also, BRACES. This is probably more of an insecurity issue than anything, but being more skilled at applying lipstick would probably help... Advice for lip-lining/lipstick application in general? (Please excuse my crappy webcam photos)
Hey, I am looking for the best matte lippy that is long lasting and does not transfer (if at all possible). I would like it in something comparable to Nars Cruella or Armani Lipmistro 500 (color wise). Thanks
What are the benefits of a clear lip pencil? I'm particularly interested in Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-place lip pencil. Would you choose a clear and then be able to wear it with multiple lippies? Or is it better to find a color match? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I want to try to move away from lip gloss and looking at other options Thanks
OR YOUR TOP TEN!! Hey fellow beauty lovers. I was thinking we could all use one thread to swatch our lipstick collections. Or even just a place to put up pics of just new lipsticks or any Lippy product we get. What do you think? If you're for it....go ahead! I'll be sure to post mine tomorrow. 😀💄 if you have more than one picture, please enter it as a spoiler that way the thread isn't too congested.
So I've looked at all the ColourPop threads, and it's gotten me intrigued. I've been going through swatches and reviews, and it looks pretty decent. Problem is, I now have a cart filled with $140 worth of stuff (plus shipping, since I'm in Canada). Oops. Anyways, my question is, is it necessary to buy the matching lipliners? I figure for the dark/vivid ones it makes sense, but what about the more neutral/lighter ones? Does it bleed or look uneven without it?
I am looking for a fresher color on my lips. I have trouble with color bleeding thru the lip line (upper only) I love the Addict series by Dior, and I also like lip gloss. I am over 60, so I do have some creases/wrinkles in the upper lip area to deal with. My best color family is coral to sheer orange. Pinks with a blue or cool tone don't work. Any suggestions?
I need swatches!!! As I see the new collection fly out of stock online, I've been scouring the internet for swatches to get a better feel of how the shades look. Most of them also look to be multiple shades of pink on the Sephora site, which doesn't seem to match up with the shade descriptions provided. Can anyone share their experiences so that, you know, I'm hopefully not compelled to get 18 out of 20 of them?
Hello, I am looking for a deep red matte lipstick/stain that will last long. I am a Medium 53 in the KVD foundation and want to compliment my face. I usually do grey/black eye makeup. Any ideas of what I should try?
Suddenly I'm into liquid lipsticks…and I'm not sure which to get. So what are your favorite brands and shades…I'm not asking best because I have so many great items I never wear…then others I wear all the time. Thanks!
I'm looking for a burgundy or wine colored lipstick, mostly from NARS but I don't know which color works best for my skin tone. I'm not really sure about my undertones because my veins are hard to see, but I wear the shade medium-tan sand in tarte, so hopefully that helps.
Hello! I received YSL R OUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain as a gift and I love it! I would like to order more colors but am unable to get to a store so I would like some recommendations. I have dark blond hair and hazel eyes and very warm coloring, so I look awful in anything blue-tinted. Can you give me some color recommendations that would work with my coloring? Thanks!
So I bought a tube of Rosebud Salve a couple months ago when I was looking for a good lip balm, but I kind of wrote it off after trying it because I didn't like the texture, it felt runny. But I don't feel like I'm really getting good results with the lip balm I've been using, so I pulled it out again a few minutes ago (I'm having trouble sleeping and am a little bored) and it doesn't feel anything like I remember and I noticed the slight rose scent for the first time. Why did I write this off so quickly? I'm going to give it another go. What kind of lip balm do you use?
Hi All! :-) I'm looking for a new, everyday/workday lipstick for fair skin. I've been using my Makeup Forever Rouge N9 birthday sample for a while, and I like it, but would like to add some other options. I'd prefer a lipstick and something in the cool color range. What do you love?
I recently got a BUXOM full-on gloss because I wanted a good lip plumper and I loved the colors. I only wear it every other day or so. How long will it take for the plumper to start making a noticeable, lasting difference? And how often should I apply/reapply it? Thanks!
I'm wearing lip gloss today for the first time in months! (Once I found out how dreamy lipstick can be, I did not look back!) Today I'm wearing "Stay Ablaze" from Revlon's Colorstay lip gloss (my favorite brand before switching to lipstick). This one is just a hint of slightly red, but I would like something that is RED. Or as boldy red as lip gloss can get. What are your recommendations? I'm hoping to run to Ulta in the morning before work (it's on the way, Sephora is not) and pick up something to go with a particular outfit I have in mind.
BeautyTalkers, we want to hear from you! Estée Lauder asked us to help name their newest Pure Color Envy Shine lipstick shade, coming to Sephora in February. What's your vote? Post it in the thread below by Friday, January 23.
There are makeup and skincare items for which the search will likely never end for the beauty junkie, no matter how awesome his or her current product is. Foundation, concealer, mascara, treatment serum-- I'm always looking for the next big thing that will top my current favorite. But then there are products that spawn seemingly fruitless searches altogether-- there's a decent product out there, maybe one that's likable, above average, pleasant... but it's just not the full package. It doesn't have the qualities that make it HG. I'm looking for a red lipstick (isn't everyone?). Not just any red lipstick. I'm looking for the one formula, the one color, the ONE perfect match that satisfies ALL of my criteria: long wearing not drying at all not prone to feathering applies smoothly mostly opaque to fully opaque not matte (or does not emphasize lip lines) mostly neutral; neither too blue nor too orange Have you found your HG red lipstick? If so, what is it? What qualities does it have that make you love it?
I was poking around on Refinery29 and found this: The description says it will be a whole line of nudes available in Sephora in the end of January. I am not sure how I feel about the "Hand cut bullet" Has anyone heard anything else about these yet? I am intrigued!
