I wanted to share something I'm really excited about, but I knew that only you guys would understand! I just splurged on another YSL Glossy Stain (19: Beige Aquarelle). Though the colour range isn't everything I want it to be, the formula is amazing: I find the gloss lasts a really long time, isn't sticky, and has a very natural kind of finish. I grabbed the Beige Aquarelle because it's a very natural nude on me, and I wanted to use it for an experiment: if I layered it with some lipstick, would it both tone down my lipstick colour, and gift it with that lovely, long lasting glossy finish? Happily, the answer is yes. I've taken to blending it with some of my favourite browns, bright reds, poppy corals and electric pinks. I put a layer of the Glossy Stain on, and a few minutes later, pick up some of my lipstick with my lipstick brush and put on a semi-generous helping. A minute later, I throw on a final layer of my Glossy Stain and both the gloss finish and the toned down lipstick last all day Has anyone else tried anything like this?
As many of you, I have a deep love for the Bite Beauty brand. I just saw this product on Sephora today. This comes in 5 sheer colors (one is just clear) and is a five-in-one balm. To quote the product page: "Essential for the look and feel of just-kissed, healthy, and hydrated lips, this color-rich balm repairs, primes, and protects with SPF 18. Natural lip repair lipids mimic the lips’ natural surface to revitalize, replenish, and restore texture for the ultimate softness." I am so excited! Whose gonna get it? (And then post swatches and write an awesome review Lol) http://www.sephora.com/bb-for-lips-P386121?skuId=1 584291
I'm addicted to Beso by Urban Decay's Naked line! I didn't think I would like it but I got another during the sale even though my first isn't even half way gone. It keeps my lips soft and moisturized...which is a hard thing to do with my dry, chapped lips. I like it more than Fresh's line. I would love to hear what you all can't live without??!!
I did see the other posts about lip tars on here, and I felt like creating a new thread because the last one hasn't been touched in over 6 months and I feel like there has been a lot of hype around the lip tars. I love everything about the lip tars except for how they actually work. They are pigmented, but they're also sticky and they have no staying power. I guess if you don't drink/eat/talk too much they'll stay on. I've had them wear off on me in about 4 hours, and I wasn't eating/drinking anything. Because they're all liquidy, it's also really hard to reapply. I can't imagine taking a lip brush and the lip tar with me to reapply. I also hate how the product always separates and you have to shake it up really well before or it comes out all weird. I'm wondering how everyone else feels about them. A friend recently mentioned she was thinking of purchasing the mini lip tar set as a gift, and I told her not to because I don't think they're worth it. There are so many better (in terms of long lasting) lip products on the market. At least it seems like they're moving away from the claims that their lip tars are long lasting.
I just purchased the TOO FACED Lip Injection color bomb in Coral Pop (deep salmon pink) because I thought it would be a good color for summer, but am having a hard time trying to match it with a lipliner. I know I can come here for good advice, thanks!
I'm looking for carmine free eyeshadows and lipstick/lipgloss. I know Laura Mercier has a few products that I can use that are carmine free, but I'm looking for other brands to try. Any suggestions? This is because of a carmine allergy. It's difficult to read the ingredients for everything so I was hoping for any known carmine free brands as a starting point. Many thanks in advance!
I just saw this....it looks intriguing. http://www.sephora.com/rouge-interdit-lipstick-liv s-lips-P374930?skuId=1582386 It seems similar to the Dior Addict Lip Glow, but its black in the tube! Does anyone have swatches? I know it's supposed to look different on everyone, but I can't get out to the store anytime soon to try it. Thoughts?
I bought the $12 Luminous Creme duo in Musk/Lychee over the weekend. This is my first experience with Bite Beauty products, and I am impressed enough to where I would consider buying one of their full-size lipsticks. Out of the duo I bought I especially like Lychee, described as a light neutral pink. When I checked the full-size lipsticks, though, this color appears to not be part of the permanent collection. My questions are: 1 Does anyone know if this color will become available on its own? and 2. Is there a color in the current collection you would consider an equivalent to Lychee? Retsina looks like it might be close, but I would have to swatch it to tell for sure. Thanks in advance!
So while wandering around my Sephora Inside of JcPenney, I just happened to run into a new bite library that they just got in today. It is their Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library. Of course, due to my love of Bite and lip glosses, I had to buy it. It comes with twelve rose hued minis, varying in darkness and lightness. I will admit, the one set that Bite delivered (the year one) had a poor box construction compared to this one. The box is extremely sturdy and colorful as well. Probably what cause my attention in the first place. Do I want to admit it even had a faint smell of roses? Price: Priceless.. okay well maybe not. $49 Online: http://www.sephora.com/deconstructed-rose-lip-glos s-library-P385673?om_mmc=oth-bt-richlinks-2013
I love Kat Von D's Lovecraft Painted Love lipstick for the color and the finish (matte) but it has been out of stock for a very long time... Is there another brand I could try with a similar color and finish?
Does anyone own the new Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Melted Candy and can swatch it for me? I am trying to decide if I should wait for it to come back in stock and have been able to find swatches on all the other colors.
I didn't love the radiant orchid matte lipstick on me when a Sephora MUA applied it. (I am at the age where certain lipstick formulas just emphasize lines.) I also shy away from really STRONG colors. But I decided to try the radiant orchid venus lure balm, and I love it. It is moisturizing and gives me a sheer pop of color. I can enjoy the orchid shade without feeling like it is too much. I can also apply it quickly and easily because it is a balm. It even gives my lips a tiny bit of a stain. I would LOVE it if Sephora kept this item in stock. Better still, I would love it if they also made this formula in more colors. It is a good way to try a bright or intense color that can be hard to wear. A true red in this would be fantastic! Anyone else feel the same?
