So I'm looking to purchase some really 'fun' lipstick colors to add to my collection for the spring and summer seasons. I've been looking at both Melt lipsticks and Lime Crime lipsticks. I was wondering how each of these brands actually perform! I've heard a lot about Lime Crime's fun colors, but not much about the actual formula. Does anyone out there have lipsticks from both brands? If so, do you prefer one formula over the other? Any favorite shades?
Ladies I would love your suggestions! I am looking for a lipstick, or the pigmentation of a lipstick NOT a gloss or stain! It must be long wearing and not feather or bleed or flake off. I am in a wedding and need it to last all night, or at least most of it and still look pretty. My dress is light light purple, wisteria to be exact so I want it it be a nude and not a brown nude or a concealer nude but a nice pinky nude (my lips are fairly pigmented to begin with). Any suggestions??!!
As many of you, I have a deep love for the Bite Beauty brand. I just saw this product on Sephora today. This comes in 5 sheer colors (one is just clear) and is a five-in-one balm. To quote the product page: "Essential for the look and feel of just-kissed, healthy, and hydrated lips, this color-rich balm repairs, primes, and protects with SPF 18. Natural lip repair lipids mimic the lips’ natural surface to revitalize, replenish, and restore texture for the ultimate softness." I am so excited! Whose gonna get it? (And then post swatches and write an awesome review Lol) http://www.sephora.com/bb-for-lips-P386121?skuId=1 584291
Daughter wants me to do her makeup for prom, and wants a smokey eye. She is blonde with blue eyes, has a little more color than usual (fake bake). Usually I do a strong lip on her. Nars heat wave is a fav. She wants something "different." I am am thinking that a pale, sugary lip to go with the smokey eye. High pigment/full coverage. Nothing sheer unless it is over something else. Suggestions??? Shout out your Brigette Bardot favs. Help
I'm addicted to Beso by Urban Decay's Naked line! I didn't think I would like it but I got another during the sale even though my first isn't even half way gone. It keeps my lips soft and moisturized...which is a hard thing to do with my dry, chapped lips. I like it more than Fresh's line. I would love to hear what you all can't live without??!!
i swatched Dior Addict lipgloss 2 shades at the store and liked how the formula looked so smooth are the worth to buy? i would like if i get recommended some of pigmented lipglosses and lipsticks thank you
oh help! Just about out of my favorite NARS lipstick, a brown shade called Canaille. NARS doesn't carry it anymore, so I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a similar brown shade? Don't have it with me right now, so I can't swatch it for you, but I will soon. I don't like glosses, and I don't use products from Kat Von D or Bite Beauty, but other than that, the floor is yours. Thanks, beauties!
The only lip products I use and have used are the Dior Addict lip glow and Benetint.. I like them, but I would love to try new ones.. just that I don't know where to begin.. I don't even know which type (lipgloss, plump, balm, stick etc) is what I'm looking for I have fair-light yellow toned skin (wear Dior nude foundation in 011), don't wear alot of makeup and focus on the complexion.. simple eyeliner and mascara. one of the reasons why I didn't wear lip products was because I didn't want to look "awkward" if that makes sense.. I even had a few Armani sheer lipsticks that I never wore.. (orange color looked very awkward on me) could I please get some recommendations on something that looks natural? I've heard about transfer free lip products also and is curious
I am turning to you, my BT community, in all of your wisdom. I generally wear neutral/nude/natural lip colors. I think my lips look thin and harsh with dark colors, but I would like to try more of a bright color. I see so many photos posted of everyone, and the brighter colors look so nice on everyone, no matter what shape their lips or face. "berry blushed" from Clinique and "watermelon" Burt's Bees are about as colorful as I have right now. Otherwise, I have Dolly Buxom and Blossom by Mally...nice colors, but no pizzazz. Here are my stats and preferences: Fair skin with pink undertones, 49 with nice skin, average lips but they turn down on the corners a bit. I prefer a more sheer coverage with shimmer. Glosses preferred, but if a lipstick is more moisturizing, that will work too. Something coral, berry or pinks that aren't dark or fuschia-bright but are pretty and great for Spring and Summer? Thanks in advance!
Love love LOVE the color of YSL Rouge Volupte's Extreme Coral #15! I'm running low on it and would like to find if there are any dupes out there before possibly splurging again. *photos from Style My Closet blog*
I did see the other posts about lip tars on here, and I felt like creating a new thread because the last one hasn't been touched in over 6 months and I feel like there has been a lot of hype around the lip tars. I love everything about the lip tars except for how they actually work. They are pigmented, but they're also sticky and they have no staying power. I guess if you don't drink/eat/talk too much they'll stay on. I've had them wear off on me in about 4 hours, and I wasn't eating/drinking anything. Because they're all liquidy, it's also really hard to reapply. I can't imagine taking a lip brush and the lip tar with me to reapply. I also hate how the product always separates and you have to shake it up really well before or it comes out all weird. I'm wondering how everyone else feels about them. A friend recently mentioned she was thinking of purchasing the mini lip tar set as a gift, and I told her not to because I don't think they're worth it. There are so many better (in terms of long lasting) lip products on the market. At least it seems like they're moving away from the claims that their lip tars are long lasting.
So while wandering around my Sephora Inside of JcPenney, I just happened to run into a new bite library that they just got in today. It is their Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library. Of course, due to my love of Bite and lip glosses, I had to buy it. It comes with twelve rose hued minis, varying in darkness and lightness. I will admit, the one set that Bite delivered (the year one) had a poor box construction compared to this one. The box is extremely sturdy and colorful as well. Probably what cause my attention in the first place. Do I want to admit it even had a faint smell of roses? Price: Priceless.. okay well maybe not. $49 Online: http://www.sephora.com/deconstructed-rose-lip-glos s-library-P385673?om_mmc=oth-bt-richlinks-2013
I wanted to share something I'm really excited about, but I knew that only you guys would understand! I just splurged on another YSL Glossy Stain (19: Beige Aquarelle). Though the colour range isn't everything I want it to be, the formula is amazing: I find the gloss lasts a really long time, isn't sticky, and has a very natural kind of finish. I grabbed the Beige Aquarelle because it's a very natural nude on me, and I wanted to use it for an experiment: if I layered it with some lipstick, would it both tone down my lipstick colour, and gift it with that lovely, long lasting glossy finish? Happily, the answer is yes. I've taken to blending it with some of my favourite browns, bright reds, poppy corals and electric pinks. I put a layer of the Glossy Stain on, and a few minutes later, pick up some of my lipstick with my lipstick brush and put on a semi-generous helping. A minute later, I throw on a final layer of my Glossy Stain and both the gloss finish and the toned down lipstick last all day Has anyone else tried anything like this?
I have some questions about them and I read the reviews and they say they don't last long enough. Matte or Metallic? Do I have to use the primer? Which colors look best on pale skin? SHOULD I GET THESE?
So after chic week it seems my lip stick and lip gloss collection has grown tremendously. There is no way I can possibly add a matching lip liner for each color I have. I was looking at the clear universal lip liners and I see Sephora has one $10 and MUFE has one for $19. Im open to all suggestions even a good basic nude or light pink liner that would go with just about any lip color. I mostly wear nude, light pink, mauves, wine colors. Not too much corals or reds yet.
I really love MAC lipsticks and I am really wanting a pinkish coral color for the summer so I started looking through swatches of MAC lippies. I came across Watch Me Simmer and fell in loooove. Only to find out it was a LE from 2012 Anyone know of another MAC lippie that's similar? Or would someone happen to have Watch Me Simmer and never use it, I'd love you forever!
Has anyone noticed that Buxom outdid themselves and added a BUNCH of colors to the Full-On Lip Polish line? There's so many new colors, and so many new Buxom girls! I'm actually a bit tempted to get Hannah only because that's my name...I don't know where I'd be wearing that dark of a color, but I'm sure I'd figure something out - glossjuunkiee
I just saw this....it looks intriguing. http://www.sephora.com/rouge-interdit-lipstick-liv s-lips-P374930?skuId=1582386 It seems similar to the Dior Addict Lip Glow, but its black in the tube! Does anyone have swatches? I know it's supposed to look different on everyone, but I can't get out to the store anytime soon to try it. Thoughts?
Has anyone else bought the new Too Faced Melted Lipsticks? I just received mine and all I can say is it is nothing like the advertised. I love the color so much but it is not high shine or glossy. It is more of a matte color that is highly pigmented. What is everyone else's opinion on this?
I know one can purchase matte vs satin or lustrous and glossy lipsticks but some of my favourite colours just don't come in a matte option. Is there a topcoat or balm of some kind that can make any lip matte? I know that products like this are available for face and nails but I am specifically looking for one suitable for lips. Does this exist or do I need to buy a face mattifier and find some way to make this work? Any suggestions would be very welcome!!
I need helping this kind of lip color. A pastel color that is not too opaque and not too sheer where you cant tell the color. This one is called high voltage cosmetics 'just a girl' but I don't think it sells anymore. Do you know anything just like it??
