Hi everyone! I don't know if there is another thread for this but maybe everyone else calls this problem something different, I don't know. Anyway... So Ive had this problem my whole life where no matter how much I use chapstick or exfoliate my lips I get what I call lip scum on the inside of my lip (like where they meet). So now I really love wearing lipsticks but I still get that lip scum and then the lipstick looks bad. Im not sure if my lips are just not moisturized enough right now I'm using a nivea brand lip balm and a lip scrub I got from sephora. I use a lip primer as well when putting on lip stick. So does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
As you may now have seen in the Summer/Fall collections threads, ColourPop Cosmetics is releasing next week their new collection of liquid lipsticks and the colors are to die for and just $6 a piece so I decided to create this new thread so we can share swatches for those interested. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a few. Here are the dominiquerldr swatches from IG And this one from lustrelux Also, if these babies do release next week you can use the Kathleenlights code for $5 off As of right now for this summer season I’m interested in: Spoiler (Highlight to read) Lychee Mars Ouiji Bumble Solow Donut Buds Pacific LycheeMarsOuijiBumbleSolowDonutBudsPacific What do you think?

On the Bite Beauty thread, we've been recently discussing the transformative effect that Bite Beauty's Opal (comes in lipstick and gloss; both exclusively available at Sephora) has on different shades of lipstick. I would love to see what Opal does to all different brands and colors of lipstick. So, if you have Opal lipstick or gloss, could you please post a "before" picture of your lips with whatever lipstick you choose and then an "after" picture with Opal applied over the top of it? The more colors you want to try, the better! Thank you!!!
I have been wearing Makeup Forever's Aqua waterproof lip liner in 2c for about a month now. I don't have any lipstick or gloss that matches, so I've been applying the lip liner all over. Do you know of any matches for the color? I would prefer the same brand, but anything cheap will do. Thanks!
I am interested in buying the set and it is available on the Too Faced website (their shipping fees are horrible though). Before doing it I wanted to know if Sephora will carry any more of the holidays sets from Too Faced.
Hey ladies, would you mind if your man enjoyed wearing lipstick? Whether he only did it at home in front of you or if he wore it in public with you or both? Some women like it and some dont like it and some dont care either way. Does it make a man less desirable, or does it make him more desirable? I want to know your thoughts
I have recently gotten into bold color lips (reds, neon pinks, corals) and usually put a clear lipgloss on top because I hate the matte feeling on my lips but the lipstick always bleeds or feathers. How do I stop the feathering without sacrificing the glossy look??
I've tried to love the Line and Define, I really have. I've tried everything. I've tried layering lip balm under it, over top of it, and I exfoliate my lips before applying the primer. I have to do that, especially when wearing the melted lipsticks, because otherwise I'll have a horrific white line on my lips. After exfoliating and making sure there are no bits of dead skin on my lips, as soon as I apply this Bite product, there are large chunks all over my lips. I've seen several other people elsewhere online complain about this, but is there a fix, or am I doomed to get no use out of this product?
Alright, wise people of Beauty Talk. I have a lipstick holder and keep all my MAC lipsticks in it. I spend so much time on the morning pulling them out and turning them to read the label and find the one I want. I was complaining to my sister about this morning ritual and I said I was probably just going to store them upside down so the labels are easy to read. She gasped as though I had suggested that I give them all to my daughter to use as crayons and just buy a tube of Chapstick as replacement. She said all of the bullets would break off due to gravity and they'd be ruined! Is she right? Do you store your precious tubes of coloured happiness upside down or right side up?
The smash box lip pencil in the shade pro. This little baby has been my holy grail nude lip for ages. The absolute perfect matte duty rose colour. Tragically, it was discontinued and I am running low on my last one. Does anyone know of a product that might be similar in colour? Dervish from mac is the closest I've found so far but it runs a little mauveish on me.
Hi! This is my first time posting but I've been reading a lot! I bought several OC Lip Tars because they are on sale and I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed! I've seen them swatched on darker girls and they look great! I'm of darker skin (bi-racial) and the 3 I've tried have not worked for me at all. The one I was looking forward to the most was 'Sebastian' and it barely shows up on my lips. It's VERY watery compared to the others and it looks like it was separating in the tube because there are areas in the tube which are pink. So do you think it is "defective" or are certain colors waterier than others? Do I have to put something on my lips to "white them out" before using the lip tars? Any advice is appreciated!
A few photos showed up on my instagram through Beautezine, and apparently there is a Canada-Exclusive lip collection coming out in July for the fall from Bite, let's call it the Maple Collection. It apparently features 5 matte lipsticks with a maple scent, and a Maple Agave Lip Mask. So jealous, I'd love to get my hands on a maple-scented agave lip mask! Here are the photos that Beautezine posted on her instagram: and swatches:
For you ladies with pale skin, what are your favorite lipsticks? I think i may criticize myself too much because i never think any color looks good on me. So i want to ask some of you that may have fair skin as well and see what you guys think.
this tag has been going around youtube vids for over a year now, i thought this could be a bit of fun for us BTers on a lazy sunday. the questions are: 1. Favorite balm/treatment 2. Best eye-catching red 3. Best luxury & best drugstore 4. Favorite MAC lipstick ** 5. Most disappointing 6. Liner- yes or no? 7. Best gloss 8. Something extra (shout out to a product not covered here / a lip product story / your first lipstick love / whateveryouwant) **i know not everyone here loves MAC or goes for MAC products, so i figure for this question, feel free to say whateveryouwant or just skip it. i'll post my answers below as to make for an easy copy & paste. feel free to include photos if you want but no biggie. just have fun and feel free to cheat and give multiple answers
As requested, here is a mini documentary of my visit to Bite Beauty Lab! The store is located in Soho on Prince St. I arrived early and was able to score a custom color appointment easily; however, customers who arrived after me had to wait anywhere from 30 min to a couple of hours. I would recommend either calling ahead of time or coming early. This is a view of the consultation area. You sit across from a MUA with a spread of colors between you, as well as a clean surface for mixing: The lovely MUA (whose name I forget! I remember that she was from Senegal, that she wore MUD eyemakeup, and that she used to work for OCC, but for the life of me I can not remember her name!) introduced me to the four formulations: Luminous Creme, Matte Creme (?), Sheer Creme (?), and Creme Deluxe. The Luminous Creme is like the Luminous Creme lippies that they sell: satin finish, hydrating. The Matte Creme is supposed to have silica powder which makes it longer lasting. The Sheer Creme is sheer and hydrating, probably like the sheer lippies in their regular line. The Creme Deluxe has more antioxidants and is long lasting due to inclusion of Japanese silk and is therefore more expensive at 48$. The prior 3 are 36$. I decided to get a Creme Deluxe in a classic blue based red and a Luminous Creme in a pinky-peach my-lips-but-better shade. The MUA started mixing shades using a spatula on a clear surface: The first mixture was too bold, the second too purple, and the third was just right. For good measure, I tried a fourth, but settled on the third. With each concoction, the MUA wrote down the proportions of the different ingredients: After settling on both shades, I was asked to choose a scent. There was a scent station with cherry, wildberry, mint, vanilla, mango, citrus mango, and violet scented lipstick bases. I settled on citrus mango: My MUA then pulled all the pigments for my lippies from a wall full of pigments in bon-bon sizes and shapes: She then put them in a cup and added the appropriate lipstick base formulation as well as several drops of the scent I had chosen: After melting the concoction in the microwave, she put the mixture in a centrifuge: She then tested the shade against the shade we had mixed together at the consultation area. One of the shades was slightly off so she added additional pigment and then remelted/centrifuged: Once the shades were perfect, she poured them into lipstick molds: The lipstick molds were set on a cool surface and allowed to solidify. Afterward, she released them from the mold: She then got an empty housing and placed it carefully over the unmolded lippie: Then the lipstick was lidded and boxed: The lipstick was placed in a box and labelled with my chosen lipstick names. It was placed in a plastic bag with a business card (red lip), advertisement card, and personalized lip card with my shade on it and the recipe on the back. I named my two lippies after my two kids: Here is the final result: I enjoyed my experience immensely and have to thank my dear friend Mary for giving me a 100$ gc to Bite Beauty Lab for Christmas. I would highly recommend this experience to those of you who would like to find the absolute perfect shade. The more expensive formulation (deluxe creme) is about the price of a Tom Ford, so probably not worth it unless you have a gc. The others are in the range of a Guerlain or Chanel, so for me, totally worth it, considering you are getting a perfect shade. I would swatch my lippies for you, but my lips are entirely exhausted from trying on so many shades. I hope this helps those of you nearby decide if you want to make the trip to Manhattan, and as for those of you who live far away, consider visiting (and making an appointment!) if you ever visit NYC!
Hi Ya'll. I'm a big fan of Bite Beauty BB for Lips in Tawny. BIG fan. Running low and need to find a substitute product since BB for Lips seems to have disappeared from US Sephora. I'm looking for a similar product in weight and color, and especially for the moisturizing properties. This was the ONLY product I've ever used that didn't make my lips chap or peel. Willing to try something in the rosy pinky nude family, similar to Laura Mercier Lip Color Sheer in Bare Lips, which is a sheer rose beige. Any suggestions? Thank you!
