All these gorgeous swatches have me so excited! I have Taro, but Whiskey, Thistle and Squid Ink are supposed to arrive tomorrow. Squid Ink is so outside of my lipstick safe zone, but gosh it's so pretty. I made my mind up about not getting Kale, but it's been so stunning on everyone! Ahh, choices!

Right!  Squid Ink.  THAT's what I'm talking about!

Thistle's a mystery.  I swatched it in-store and it made my skin look very washed out and unpleasant.  It looks soft and gorgeous here.  And in every single picture it looks so different on each person.

Yeah, I think my very pink lips warmed Thistle up a bit.

Also, Squid Ink is entirely your doing, @Harpier82 ! I saw how good it looked with your blue eyes and I knew I had to have it myself.

I'm sad because I raced home from work, eagerly awaiting my taro package, but it's delayed until tomorrow 😞 

Until then, this is how lavender jam looks on. I love bold colors...but Idt this one is working for me.

My lavender jam came today and it looks more purple than the bit of blue that I see on others. I wonder if I got a weird one - not complaining as I like it a lot it's just not what I expected. Like lavender jam and taro had a baby idk. Anyone else pulling more purple?

Aaaah! Squid Ink, Kale, and Thistle are all supposed to arrive today (in separate boxes - ooh the front desk judgement lol)!! I literally can't wait to get home and do lip swatches!

I ended up up ordering Whiskey too. It shipped today so it will probably arrive Saturday or Monday. Eee!

Thistle just did not work on me -- I look like I'm auditioning for the role of a zombie or something. It definitely looks more brown/mauve/pink in the tube, and much greyer on. It's going back, and lesson learned -- wait for swatches (or, preferably, swatching in store) before trying a color that's new to me. Now, if only I can remember that once the new UD lipsticks launch.

I think Whiskey is going back. I can't see myself wearing this - too dark, and if I wear dark shades, I prefer more purple or red. This pulls almost black on me.

I understand if you feel like it's not for you, but for whatever it's worth, I saw the thumbnail for this picture and fell in love immediately!

With colors like this, I like to apply them over a clear balm to sheer them out some. That might help and bring back more color to your lips while making a very pretty bold wash of darkness.... Haha, not so good at the descriptions at the moment. But, for what it's worth, I like it on you even like this. 🙂

That's a good idea to try. I typically don't like mixing shades, but it may help me see this one differently. Worth a try 🙂

I think it's beautiful, but as always it's about wearing what feels right.  If it doesn't, it just doesn't.

What's interesting is that (way more than even the picture I posted of it here), Whiskey goes very burnt red on me.
