Red Lipstick

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a new red lipstick.  Not like fire engine red but more of a brick red or blood red.  I've been looking at one's from YSL, Kat Von D, Bite Beauty, Dior...but I'm so overwhelmed and I don't know which to choose.  It doesn't matter to me if it's a stain or a stick but I do need it to be hydrating.  Help!

I would recommend NARS Fire Down Below... it's a very true red and has great lasting power!

NARS lipstick in Shanghai Express is a pretty brick red, but it's not extraordinarily moisturizing (you can fix that issue with balm underneath, though). Same with NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Dragon Girl (blood red) or the Pure Matte lipstick in Mascate (RED red). NARS is not known for moisture, but the pigmentation is worth it (and you always prep with balm).

A red that does have a bit of moisture is MAC Lady Bug -- which I love because the color is glossy and sheer, but can be built up to a more dramatic red.

Hi Sammiebaby.  I think you'd love Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Cruella.  It's that perfect deep brick red. It goes on smoothly and lasts!

Last year, I received the Kat Von D mini 6 piece lipstick set, and two of her reds were included (Adora and Hellbent).  Both reds are beautiful shades!  Her lipsticks are long lasting (Hellbent survived a meal at an Italian restaurant), but because of their long lasting quality, they can be slightly drying from time to time.  The best thing to do is to apply your favorite lip balm before hand and you should be good to go!

I've heard really good things about Kat Von D's lip stains. That will be my first choice when I go to get some new lip stuff!
