NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil :(

Based on one of the recent discussions in here I decided to order one of the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils (in Sex Machine). I was super excited to get it today and try it on. I love it! It’s the perfect shade of neutral pink for my fair skin. I loved the application and how it looked. I couldn’t wait to post a review and ask for other color recommendations when I read the back of the box…wan..wan.. waaaaaa It contains methylparaben and propylparaben! I haven’t run into that many lip products that contain parabens, but I guess I should have checked first. I’m upset..especially since I had a minute to love it. I can’t see keeping it now. Any suggestions on another brand with a similar product… I’m so sad

Side Note: If you use the paraben free check box for ingredients, this product still comes up and there isn't an ingredient list listed...

Hi Elea33.  For a paraben free choice, I recommend trying the Tarte LipSurgence™ Natural Matte Lip Stain.  It is very pigmented, goes on smoothly and has that velvet matte finish.

I appreciate the recommendation, but I'm not a big fan of stains. I have one of these and it's not my favorite.

Do any other brands have a version of this (other than the buxom or clinique ones?)?

Thank you. I will look at the Bite Lip pencil and Sephora Brand...

I haven't heard anything yet from users on the Bite products, but I've wanted the videos and I'd like to try them.

Hi Elea33,

Bite products are nice because they contain, resveratrol which is a natural antioxidant and anti-aging ingredient. The lip pencils are really creamy and the colors are very flattering.
