Hey! Hey!~
I'm a fan of crazy fun colors of lipstick (Red, hot pink, purple, ect) I have a very pale skin tone. So when it bleeds (or feathers out) It shows pretty badly after about an hour. I use Lip liner, and chapstick, and smear lip gloss over the lipstick to give it a sheen. any other tips about not letting it bleed out? Is it the lip gloss that's making it worse?

Hello Thetenacioust,
Those are great recommendations!
I also wanted to add that you might want to try the Make Up Forever Lip Line Perfector to apply around your lips to prevent bleeding. A trick I like to use is I apply concealer or foundation on and around my lips. This gives the lipstick something to adhere to and also makes it more vibrant. I hope this helps!

Hi thetenacioust!
I love wearing fun colors when I'm away from the office. I've been using CARGO reverse lip liner, and it works amazingly for me. It's very different from your typical lip primer, or lip liner. The reverse lipliner is applied on the outside of your lips and is to match your skin tone. Apply on the outside and blend. I know some of my friends use it all over their lips to conceal their natural lip color and on the outsind lining of their lips. It helps for the true lipstick color to stand out and no more bleeding or feathering.
I love it because its so different and it works.

Hi thetenacioust ! Im glad that your using a lip liner because thats a step that does help keep ur lipstick in place
u might want to try using a lip primer. Laura Geller makes one called 'lip spackle'. ... not sure if sephora carries it, but some macys do. It also helps with canceling out the redness in your lips for whenever you want to have a nude lip color. I hope this helped u!

I've actually complained to Sephora for their lack of selection in lip primers. On-line they offer 3. The best I've ever used is MAC Prime time. Sadly, Sephora doesn't carry anything even close.

hi, thetenacioust!
if you don't want you lipstick to bleed, i would suggest using the make up for ever lipline protector or too faced borderline smoothing anti-feathering lip pencil. they are both colorless so they won'r compete with your lip color. i have found that they are both incredibly good at holding on to lip color, so check these out and maybe you'll find one!

Try a reverse lip liner. Too Faced makes a great one. It kinda looks like the clear crayon we use for easter eggs..lol..but it goes right around the outside of your lip, completely clear, and keeps from bleeding. Also Urban Decay does a lip primer potion to help the lipstick stay where u put it. With the gloss, try just a dab in the center of the lip to give a sultry look!
