When I apply lipgloss or lipstick, it tends to not last throughout the day. Is there something people apply before you put on your lip gloss to make it last all day? Do you apply concealer or lip primer or something? Can you apply regular concealer to your lips and then apply the gloss?
Apparently Benefit discontinued the color 'La La Land' in it's full-coverage lipstick. It's my favorite color ever-- so I need a replacement. Any suggestions? (Different brand would be fine, too.) Thanks!!
Hi Ladies and Gentleman - can you help me identify this long time favorite? The sticker was never clear about the name and it's rubbed off now. Had this about 3 yearsish? I t's a MAC lustre in their regular lipstick case. Black/silver. See photos! Any help would be great. I THOUGHT I could see the letters "__ __ L A __" or something like that in the name, but looking through lists of MAC Lustre lipsticks (even including special editions), I can't find almost any with those letters. Hmmm... It's a medium-bright pink, fairly pigmented (not thick/matte/full, but also not totally sheer), cool, with very slight lustre (shimmer). For me it's a wearable version of hot pink. The photo of the tube below makes it look darker/more purple than it is, so I am adding a lip shot wearing it... However, it's denser and brighter pink than i looks in the lips photo [which i am trying to post but won't upload darnit]. Sorry I couldn't get a good pic! It also tastes a little like vanilla. Thanks in advance.
Jack Black lip treatment is THE most moisturizing lip product I've tried, but I like to look at the ingredients list to make sure I'm not paying for weird chemicals. The original ingredients list on the website and printed on the back of the lip balm is:
Active Ingredients : Octinoxate 7.5%, Avobenzone 3.0%.
Other Ingredients : Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, Persea Gratissima Avocado Oil, Prunus Amgdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Oil, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E).
I find it suspicious that there is absolutely zero preservative, wax or petroleum in it. While many websites don't list full ingredients list, what's printed on the product is always the full list. That list was the same on the tube, on Sephora.com and on their website. However, recently they've finally decided to disclose the real ingredients list. It was not reformulated, it's just now they included the ommited ingredients on the tube (altho the info is not updated on Sephora.com):
Active Ingredients : Octinoxate 7.5%, Avobenzone 3.0%.
Inactive Ingredients: Petrolatum , Lanolin Oil , Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Ehylhexl Methoxycinnamate, Cera Alba, Ozokerite, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, Butyl Methoxydibenzoyl-methane, Parfum, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, C18-38 Alkyl Hydroxystearoyl Stearate, Perse Gratissima (Avocado Oil), Tocopheryl Acetate, Isopropylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben , Microcrystallina Cera, Cyclopentasiloxane, Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract, Cyclohexasiloxane, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalol
I find it very very upsetting that they would hide the ingredients (the full list was revealed probably due to the new SPF guideline, otherwise nowhere to be found). Some people may be allergic (lanolin?) or trying to avoid (parabens) certain ingredients, and this is rude and disappointing. In any case, for people who care about the ingredients, beware. I actually found out about it on Temptalia:
Hm, now I'm also suspicious that the Anthony Logistic Lip SPF25 is also prob not the full ingredients and am ordering a tube to check.
Hello! So, lately I've been searching around for a good night lip balm. I have my EOS which are amazing for day. However, I wan a super-thick lip balm for night. One that I would be able to still feel after I wake up, of possible. So, does anyone have any recommendations? Does the Rosebud Salve fit this description? Do any of the Lush lip balms fit this description? Any others? Thank you so much!
Since fall is now upon us, I really want to try the berry lip trend. Wines, plums, deep magentas, you get what I'm saying! I'm very pale with strawberry blonde hair, so I need a color that won't seem to harsh. Any suggestions?
What are your favorite fall lipsticks? Lately I've been loving and wearing quite a few lipsticks, rotating them every day. They are: MAC Diva Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 04 ( an extremely dark vampy violet. Revlon Va Va Violet is similar) Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 08 ( a dusty rose-nude) Rimmel Bordeaux Mac Ruby Woo Wet N' Wild Cherry Picking I think anyone can pull the vampy lip trend off if they tried. I love blue based dark red and purple lipsticks on fair (light to light-medium) ladies because I feel it looks very elegant Victorian vampire-esque.
Hi, I want to buy the rouge isolence #522 from Guerlain. It's a lipstick in the kiss kiss line, but I can't find it anywhere. Not even on the Guerlain official website. Is it discontinued ? I know Sephora.fr still have some kiss kiss lipstick but sephora.com and sephora.ca don't even cary the line.
I am allergic to the dye in most lip colors. I was keeping my lips well moisturized and for awhile it wasn't bothering me, but it recently started flaring up again and nothing seems to be working to stop the dryness and cracking anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions as to products I can use to protect my lips before applying the lip color or sensitive/hypo allergenic products to try?
I am of medium-deep complexion & I can't for the life of me find one. I have been forced to mix about 3 different lipsticks & glosses to get a shade that I like. You can imagine how crazy people think I am when they see me pull out all three to use at once lol. HELP.
HI, I recently purchased MACs lip primer which is supposed to keep the lipstick from feathering and make it stay on longer. I have heard that you should let it dry. I have done all that and still it feathers and wont stay on. I heard of Guerlain's Kiss Kiss, but for the money I want to make sure it really works. Which do you love and cannot live without? That works to keep your lipstick and gloss on while preventing feathering?
hi everyone! so i have previously bought the fresh sugar lip balm and it worked very well, however, im not sure if i will buy it again solely because of the price. in your opinion, is 22 dollars for a lip balm too much to spend? does anyone know of any great natural lip balms either? thanks for any help!!!
i am extremely pale with rosy cheeks, and pink/cool undertones. i've tried all kinds of red lipsticks, and am currently looking for the absolute brightest blue-based satin or matte red on the market. any suggestions? i've worn many reds, and find that shades like nars's red lizard, while flattering in undertone, are too dark and make my lips look smaller than they are, and that colors like mufe's moulin rouge are nice and bright but a little too orange for my skintone. i don't want to use a gloss to make my lips look bigger (it doesn't look good on me), so please help me find that perfect superbright cool red (but not too cool, i don't want magenta lips). i was even considering mac's ruby woo, but it seems to be a bit too dark for me (yes, i am THAT PALE lol). thanks!
I want to try pink lipstick but can't find one I like or that I feel would look good. I really don't care for hot pink lipsticks so more natural or lighter pinks would be better suggestions. I'm very fair with cool undertones, so fair to the point that I will burn in the sun. No tanning, just burning! I like(d) YSL ROUGE VOLUPTÉ in Lingerie Pink #7 but the dupes I got didn't look so great. Any one have a suggestion for not-crazy-pinks? Especially OCC Lip Tar shades. I like Digitalis, Ophelia and Hush but I'm super worried they won't look good (especially Ophelia). Help is great. Thanks.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a clear lip liner? I love bright/ bold lipstick & want a clear liner so it won't change the color & so I don't have to worry about finding a close match for the more vibrant colors. I found one from Maybelline but I feel like it is too waxy/hard and doesn't help lipstick last any longer. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi! I'm looking at the stil after glow lip color and I'm not sure what color would be best for me (even though I like wearing lipsticks I've gotten the best lipcolor for me from just sheer luck!) This would be new territory for me since I've never tried glowing lip sticks (I mean, just as long as their not bad for you when you're eating or licking your lips you know?); also I've never tried a violet, electric pink, or any kind of orange color (the only type of fuisha I've tried is from the Sephora Collection lipsticks in Valentine which I like) Oh and if it helps I have dark brown hair and eyes; and again just as long as this is the type of lip color that I can wear rather than it wearing me xD I hope that's enough info! Thank you so much!
Hello, everyone! I need some help identifying a lipstick. I got a (free, unasked-for) sample in a Sephora in JC Penney about three weeks ago, and I ended up loving it. Unfortunately, the name was written in dry erase marker, not permanent, and it rubbed off by the time I got it out of my purse, so I do not remember what it was called. I believe it started with a hard letter, like a T or P or V or R, not any S or vowels. I don't know how much help that is! I think the saleslady told me it was Nars, and I have a semi-matte nude from them which feels pretty much identical, so I'm relatively sure it is a Nars lipstick. Starting from there, it's brown, sort of chocolatey - I've never had a brown lipstick before, so I can't give any comparisons, but it's not shimmery or sparkly or reflective or metallic. I'm leaning towards thinking it's a semi-matte or matte, like my other Nars lipstick, but I've never used Nars sheer formula (since if I want sheer, I grab gloss) so I can't rule that out. It seems to have a sort of red/pink undertone, where if you put it on very lightly, it looks less brown and more nude. Any help? I've looked at the Nars colors online, of course, but none of the color blocks look at all like it, and I can't compare the lipstick-tube pictures, because I only got a slice of the actual color and it was a much smaller amount, so it's hard to compare. Add in the fact that colors online are never 100% true-to-life, and I figured I'd better ask. I'm looking to order online, but I can go to a store in about two weeks, too. If I brought in what remained of the sample, would any associate be able to help me find it? Or would I be better off hunting down online swatches of the Nars line and seeing if I can identify it from there? EDIT: Okay, so here are some pictures. Applied with a brush over UD clear lip liner. This is Nars Dolce Vita on me, one coat: My unknown shade, one coat: Dolce Vita, two coats (it gets pinker on me the more I put on): And the unknown, two coats (gets browner):
