matching lip color to blush
In honor of spring, I decided to try out the new coral/peachy colors in makeup. Specifically, I'm using Tipsy from Tarte. I'm loving them, but now I'm puzzled- what color do I wear on my lips? I've always stuck in the purple-hued colors, with dusty roses on cheeks and lips.
Should I find a peachy lip gloss to match my new blush color, or should I stick with my purple-y colors? Should one try to match the hues from blushes to lips? And if so, any suggestions on long-lasting peachy/coral lip gloss/stick/tint that looks natural?
With coral and peach blushes you can go with coral, peach, and peachy-pink shades on the lips. Some of my favorites are -
NARS "Orgasm" Gloss
Buxom Lips Set
Bobbi Brown "Cabo Coral"
I usually try to keep my lip and cheek color in the same tone, for instance, if I'm wearing a coral blush I wear a coralish lip color or if I wear a pink blush I wear a pinkish lip color, etc.
With your new color Tipsy, I think that NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Happy Days would be a nice shade to blend with it. The NARS lip pencil is a jumbo-sized lip pencil that you can use to fill in your entire lip and use as a lipstick. It is moisturizing and has a bit of shine and is really pretty. You can take a look at it here: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P28
I hope this helps you.

I just try not to mix color bases -- for instance, while your lips and cheeks do not have to match exactly, I probably wouldn't wear a very cool (plum, mauve) blue-based lipstick with a coral blush, or a coral lipstick with a blue-pink blush.
That said, a good coral / peachy gloss for the lips is NARS Orgasm, Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss in Sugar Charm, or Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Imaginaire (a pinky gloss with a touch of peach -- it's gorgeous, long wearing and unfortunately not available at Sephora).
