Red lipstick running into my face

Maybe it's just me, but now that I've found my perfect red and I'm wearing it more often, I've noticed that it runs onto my face outside of my lip area. What do I do that makes this happen? Does it happen to others? is this a common problem that can be prevented? Help???

You have such awesome suggestions! I actually don't use a lip primer outside my lips but use a MUFE aqua lip liner which keeps the colors staying in place pretty well! I agree with Beauty Tester however, blot with tissue, add a TINY bit of translucent powder and add more lipstick! Matte shades are a bit more forgiving than cream lipstick which even runs and bleeds on myself as well.
