Red lipstick running into my face

Maybe it's just me, but now that I've found my perfect red and I'm wearing it more often, I've noticed that it runs onto my face outside of my lip area. What do I do that makes this happen? Does it happen to others? is this a common problem that can be prevented? Help???

Also, blot. Do the apply, blot/press with a kleenex, then apply, blot etc. Repeat a couple times until you build up the color you desire and it will last longer.

p.s. You can also try a reverse/invisible liner that goes right outside your lipline so the waxy liner prevents the lipstick from seeping out.
