Long, Lost "Brick"-Re

d Lipstick Love - Looking for Another!
About 9-yrs. ago my friend had a Lancôme lipstick in "Brick", insisting that I tried it on. I did, and oh, it was absolutely divine! It was true-to-color titled and the first and only red lipstick that didn't look fuchsia or fade to fuchsia on me. I later tried to buy it for myself, but appariently it's discontinued and any other red of Lancôme's never quite matched like that one. I've looked around other brands but I've yet to find anything like it.
Would anyone know of a good, decently priced, "brick"-red lipstick? It's such a simple shade, I don't know why I'm having so much trouble.
If you can get your hands on it, I highly recommend NARS lipstick in Basque -- it was a limited edition, and the most gorgeous brick red I have seen in ages. I love it! Since it was so new, and so recently discontinued (about a month ago), you would probably be fine buying it on ebay.
Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Burnt Red (brick red) is very pretty alternative: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P27
Or, try NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Zambeze, which is a really deep brown-red that closely resembles a brick red: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P27
NARS Lipstick comes in a color called Shanghai Express which is a semi-matte warm brick red which you can find at: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P28
Sephora Brand Rouge Cream Lipstick comes in a shade called Courtisane 02 that is a deep brick red which you can find at: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P24
Bobbi Brown Lip Color comes in a shade called Burnt Red that's a brick red which you can find at: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P27
Illamasqua Lipstick comes in a shade called Encounter which is a matte brick red that you can find at: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P24
I hope one of these will match your favorite red lipstick.

I know exactly how you feel. Many times I have tried finding an exact color in a different line, but alas.. no such luck,
If you still have a little bit of the old lipstick, you can send it to a company in New York (they are called '3 custom blend') and they will duplicate it. I have tried duplicating an eyeshadow with them and the result was quite satisfying. Check out their website and click on the custom blending tab to have more info.
Best of luck with your search
