Best most flattering lip stain brand and color
I am looking for a lop stain that last a long time and that is a flattering color I am olive skinned with blond/brown hair and brown eyes. I would like to find a color that is a pretty flushed tone that goes more red than peach or pink that will last. Bonus if it has a glossy top coat! That isn't asking too much, is it?

Try Tarte's Lip Surgence, they have a variety of finishes, glossy, matte, shimmer, and also color pay offs from sheer to full colors.
They come in a chubby pencil form so it's easy to use and apply.
If you want something that goes on a bit more red, try Stila's Cherry Crush, it's a sheer cherry tint that is buildable in color payoff so you can have a sheer rose tint, to a full cherry red stain. It's a gel based so it soaks right in and a click brush pen applicator.
It dries down so you can top it off with any gloss, I like Benefit's Benetint lip balm, it has virtually the same color payoff, but in a super smooth and hydrating balm formula infused with rose oil and has SPF.

Hi ddarczy,
I LOVE love love the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Love lispsticks which are very much like lip stains but in a solid matte and creme color. I like to apply my own favorite lip gloss on top for an extra shine! I love the colors Jeffree which is a pretty pink or Berlin which is a softer warmer toned red/pink shade.

The Smashbox Limitless Lip Stain and Color Seal Balm is another favorite with a conditioning balm. Try Berry or Sangria for pretty hues!

Another favorite (that has a more shiney and glossy finish that lasts for at least 4 hours) is the Lancome La Laque Fevers.
Electric Pink

and Plum Wave

As well as Pink Dimension would be great shades to use!

I love the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain. They are glos and stain in one that feel like vinyl.

Red stains often appear more of a dark pink than a true red, unless you layer a lot. I do have some suggestions! Try Tarte Lipsurgence Tint in Spirited (the Matte and Luster lines are less stainy and more like lipstick and gloss, respectively). Super hydrating, and really easy to apply on-the-go.

You can try Laura Mercier Lip stain in Mulberry, which is a brick burgundy that will go on red if applied lightly.

Or, for a stain/gloss combo, try Benefit Benetint Pocket Pal. The stain can be layered darker.

Hi Ddarczy,
It looks like you already have lots of good recommendations. I think that you should try the Sephora Collection Lush Flush Lip & Cheek Stain in Color 02 Pinot - ripe cherry. It has a gel like texture and has a vibrant pop of color. It goes on sheer however, you can build the intensity by adding more.

Another option is the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Color 03 Strawberry Kissed - matte bright pinky red. You can also blot it on for a more sheer finish.

Hi Ddarczy,
It's true, red stains tend to have an under lining peach or pink tone. It can also happens because of your actual lip tone. You lips may naturally have a more pink hue to it. I suggest using the Benefit Lip Plump before you apply the stain. It will nude out the lips so that you can get the true pigment of the stain.

I also suggest these lip stains that have a true red finish.
