Allergic to lip color...help!!
(0) Hearts

I am allergic to the dye in most lip colors. I was keeping my lips well moisturized and for awhile it wasn't bothering me, but it recently started flaring up again and nothing seems to be working to stop the dryness and cracking anymore.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to products I can use to protect my lips before applying the lip color or sensitive/hypo allergenic products to try?

Hi Carolannie-

I suggest the Caudalie Lip Conditioner. Its a 99.5 percent-natural treatment that hydrates and soothes. I would still recommend checking with your dermatologist first!

I would recommend trying First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Therapy.

First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

It's allergy tested and dermatologist recommended.  First Aid Beauty is a line that is great for sensitive skin.

My lips also did really well with Josie Maran Argan Balm, but you can only buy a large tub of that (which is expensive).

I adore this:

It keeps my lips nice and soft, smells terrific, and is great for other crapped cracked skin. I don't know if it will protect against a lip color w/ dyes that you are allergic to, though. The little jar lasts *forever* and it is a bargain.
