It would be nice if UD released the left side shadows of the Naked Palette as singles as well. My first palette's left side is just about gone while I have a lot left of the other colors, I could get it all to come out even with a few well-selected purchases of singles. I also love Vanilla, I think that one is going to get used up first in my 15th anniversary palette.

I have found I like the lighter sides of Urban Decay palettes (not just this one), because I only use a tiny bit in the crease, I would rather have a few more bright colors, however, they are useful when I need then and I absoultely LOVE half-truth. It is a purple grey!
So pretty.

I just went to Urban Decay's website and sent an e-mail requesting that "Vanilla" from the Anniversary Collection and "Virgin" from the Naked Palette be released as singles. If any of you want to put in a request to UD for any specific colors, just go to UD's website, click on Customer Service and click to send an e-mail to "Product Suggestions". ![]()

@jxw200: I was super-excited about getting this palette even before it became available to order. The colors looked so vibrant and bold (and I absolutely love bright eyeshadows). However, when I finally received it and first opened it I was a little disappointed with it because the shadows were very different from what I expected them to be from their advertising photos. I expected a palette of very bright, vibrant shadows and, in my opinion, the only really bright shadows are the ones in the middle row and a lot of those are very similar to other UD shadows that I already own. The first row is all neutrals and the third row is very dark. I had actually thought about returning it, but after trying different color combinations with other shades I own and using some of the colors as eyeliners, I changed my mind and decided that it is a good palette to own because of its versatality when you don't use only the shades in the palette together and mix other colors from UD singles and UD palettes with them, plus they make great eyeliners. I've seen some people create complete looks from the Anniversary Palette, but I usually end up using only one or two shades from the Anniversary Palette and then mixing two or three more other shades to finish my look. (Of course, I usually wear 4 to 6 colors of eyeshadow blended together at one time.) If you like wearing a smoky eye, then the shadows in the third row are great for that. The box itself makes a lovely collector's piece and once the eyeshadow is used up, you can remove the "eyeshadow tray" and use it as a jewelry box, etc. So, in my opinion, you really won't know whether you like this palette until you actually get one and try it. If you order it and decide you don't like it, you can always return it postage free to Sephora.
By the way, if you decide to try it let us know what you think about it. I'd really like to hear your opinion!![]()

Thanks for your input guys! that really helped. I tried to check out this palette at a store on my lunch break today, but they didn't even have it on display! I should have looked at it when I was at stores last week that had it (grr)
I think I need to see it in person and try it. I do like neutrals & smokys (which i have less of a use for these days) but brights probably don't fit into my day-to-day (unfortunately!) I feel like I have way too many shadows as it is, but I would still like to touch & feel this palette anyway!

I definitely agree with tenngal, you have to see and test this palette first before you buy it. It isn't like the Naked Palette where it is pretty much suitable for everyone, the 15th anniversary shadows are not all as user friendly, I have had to work a lot to figure out how to use some of the colors for me. Not that I don't love the 15th anniv. palette, just that it isn't just something that you can put any 2 or 3 colors together and come up with a pleasing combo. In fact when I bought mine, I asked the SA to show me some looks that could be done with it since I don't use bright shadows much. She was very helpful and that was one of the contributing factors to why I got it at all.

One Sephora yesterday still had a display up (out of stock to purchase) while the other one did not. In order to test it in the store, I would act fast or they are getting ready to sell the last of their inventory online.
Ulta still had theirs up but probably not for much longer either.

it seems like my local macy's and ulta stores still have them, but none of the sephora locations i've been to in the past week have had them.
i tested it out and decided that while the shades are pretty, i'm really not in need of more eyeshadow. my boyfriend reminded me that i have tons of eyeshadow i never wear, and he prefers neutrals anyway and he thought the palette had too many colors i didn't need... i decided he was probably right haha. he's so practical... its actually really helpful lol!
so i decided i'll keep my eye out for any future palettes (or maybe singles!) that may have similar shades i would actually use! woohoo!

@jxw200: Actually going and taking a look at a tester in a store is the smart thing to do instead of just ordering it without seeing it first. That's too bad that the store didn't even have a tester on display for you to look at!
Hopefully they'll get another tester on display soon so you can take a look and swatch the colors. Let us know what you think when you get a look at it!![]()

@jxw200- It all depends on what you are looking for in a palette. If you already have the Naked palette and don't use bright shadows much, then it probably isn't for you. I use the brights as liners and that's great. I am also learning which bright ones can be blended together with other colors to tone down the brightness into something wearable in a business situation. Some mixes just turn out muddy, but some make a pretty interesting neutral.
If you want more brights than neutrals, this one may not be for you, as it only has 5 really bright ones. There are 5 pretty dark ones, so unless you are doing smokey eye looks, you may not get a lot of use out of the dark ones. I haven't used the black yet as I don't look good in black shadow, but maybe you would like it.
If you assess what your shadow usage is, you can easily figure out how much use you would get out of it. Then the tricky part is convincing yourself that you don't need it even if you really want it because it's so cool.
Good luck!

@prettyinpa: I think "Vanilla" is going to be long gone in my palette before any of the other colors, too! So I hope UD will consider releasing it in a single because I'm NOT spending $55 on another palette for that one color!!! LOL! The left-hand side of the palette has a lot of great colors I think would do really well as singles. I think several in the middle row and a couple in the right-hand row would do well as singles, too. I think I'll see if UD has a "contact us" on their website and let them know how much I'd like to see the "Vanilla" shade come out in a single. Maybe if we all did that they'd listen (hopefully). As for your comment about The Naked Palette, I think UD would be wise to release all of the shades (that aren't already sold individually) as singles now since the palette has been out for quite some time. I don't think they'd lose any money that way seeing as how the individual shadows are $17 each. ![]()

UD's website does have a contact us page. On their Facebook page, people have been posting what colors they believe should be released as singles. I've seen people request Virgin from the Naked palette and Vanilla from the 15th set.

Going against the grain and passing this one. Yes the colors are pretty but when I finally saw it, I only seemed interested in the first two rows. It did not stand out as a must have. And the ones I think are neat are probably somewhere in my makeup drawer abyss already. The material the box is made out of seems ...cluttery. I would not keep it unless I was a makeup historian or could put it into a display at a museum of makeup.
Also sad to say I was more attracted to buy a mini green palette from Maybelline. I liked the design but passed on that too.
Plus I kinda want to find a colbalty purple eye shadow (ink/indigo??) (bonus if I could find that in a mascara), light shimmery peach, or an individual shadow similar of a color I sampled in a Tarina Tarantino palette.

I saw the palette yesterday at the JCP Sephora. They had it displayed at the checkout counter. Only one was left not counting the display. I believe they are wanting to keep a very close eye on it lol. Can't wait to read your review about it!

I just read some of the reviews on this palette out of curiosity and a lot of people are saying that the lighter shades are not the usual UD quality, that they arent very pigmented and very chalky. I hope UD isnt trying to cheapo their products for more profit like a lot of other companies.

@sephoramusthave I don't think that any of the shades are chalky at all and they are very high quality. They can all be VERY pigmented, but the trick for a more subtle look is to use just a dab of it.

I still keep looking at this, I don't know why, I probably wouldn't use half of it, but I am intrigued with the neutrals. Am I silly or what? Maybe I'll wait and actually see one in person and try out the neutrals- going to Ulta this Friday, maybe they will have on to play with.
