NARS Holiday

If any of you are NARS fanatics, I am in *love* with the new holiday collection -- I think I scared the Fed Ex man this morning when he delivered it. There's a rosy multiple called G-Spot (I have a feeling that's going to be censored...), a highlighting blush called Miss Liberty (sort of like the peachy counterpart to New Order, but with no chunky glitter -- the shimmer is much more understated) -- AND -- a brown-red lipstick called Joyous that I love and can't wait to wear. Eee! There are very pretty eyeshadows, too, but I don't need any at the moment and I didn't order them. (I should have waited to get the Sephora points, but I have no willpower -- hence this post being in "Hauls" and not "No-Buy"...sorry, AmEx!).

Katie, let me know how the G-Spot Multiple works out.  I have very fair skin with pink undertones, and I'm curious about how sheer it blends to.  Love the name though!

@waterbaby: It's definitely a deeper rose, but it can be decently sheered out! A tiny bit goes a long way, though...I can't see myself ever finishing this.

For those of you who received the Sephora Holiday catalog, The model that I loved the makeup from (page 5) is wearing the NARS trio shadow and The Multiple in G-Spot.  Someone in marketing has it out for me and my no buy.

I LOVE that Nars Eye Shadow Trio!! Keep in mind though.. it DOES look a bit darker in person than in the catalog and on the model! That is my one drawback that stopped me from buying it but I am trying to wait until I'm desperate for it. gorgeous shadows and SO soft to apply!

I checked out the Miss Liberty in the store and it is soo pretty!.

That Danmari palette almost got me, but I I know I wouldn't use super orgasm or the other bright pink so I did something kinda daring. (I passed a majored exam and wanted to treat myself yesterday lol) I got the sin/casino duo. I was really kinda creeped out at how dark the colors looked in the box, and like above, I use sex appeal , and deep throat, much lighter colors. The way the associate applied it, very lightly, it looked so nice! I just need to remember how light she applied it lol.

@ katie1724 - I just saw the NARS Holiday Collection and I think I got way too excited. I love the new multiple stick in G-Spot. It's such a gorgeous color! 

@ran8 -  The lip gloss is Albatross is actually a great shade to wear over any red lipstick.  I recently tried that over the NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Vesuvio and love it!  You should check it out.

Oh wow they look beautiful! I wish they would put the names of the shades online though instead of just the one picture. I like this one and their lip gloss sets as well. I only own one NARS item and have been wanting to get their shadows/blushes/lipsticks/glosses as well....but I dont NEED anything. Too tempting though...>_<

I ordered the NARS Danmari All About Cheeks blush palette, am anxiously awaiting the arrival, probably Friday or Saturday. I fell and sprained my ankle today, so that will definitely cheer me up! I am not looking forward to going to the Horse Show this weekend on crutches, everybody always assumes that you got tossed from your horse, nothing as boring as slipping and falling down. Fortunately it's not too bad, hope to be back to normal relatively soon. Sick of putting ice bags on it though!

Just checked the collection on the official NARS site.  Fantastic collection so far!  I cannot believe I missed seeing these.  Let us know how the new multiple and the lipstick works out. 

I would buy that trio eye shadow if I had any holiday formal events planned.  I also do no need any new eye shadows but they keep showing up.  Ponderosa might be the step up brown i was looking for. 

I even like the nail varnishes.  I had a few ideas if I was doing Halloween and the Space Odyssey would have nailed it.  Same thing with the albatross lip gloss.

@sephoramusthave: I had that palette! I swapped it away on MUA because I didn't reach for it often -- but if you don't have a lot of NARS products, it's a really nice thing to have. I really only would have used Copacabana (I have the separate Multiple) and occasionally Sexual Healing -- but the rest I barely ever would have used, so I gave it a better home!

@prettyinpa: I wanted the Danmari palette, too, but then I realized I had almost all of those shades in singles -- so I couldn't justify the purchase (even though I bet they're so cute in the palette, and so handy to have in one place...!!). PS: I'm so sorry to hear about your fall! Hopefully you're okay, and I hope you have a good time this weekend despite the injury 

@ran8: Thanks! I LOVE the multiple -- it's a deeper, rosy color, and it looks beautiful on the lips, too (little staying power, though). I'm not sorry I bought it. Miss Liberty...mehh...it's nice, and I don't regret it, but I feel like I probably have similar things...it didn't wow me in its uniqueness like, for instance, Exhibit A, or some of the other NARS shades. Joyous (the lipstick) is a warm light red -- which is oddly wearable, even on my cooler-toned self (at least as far as I can tell...I might decide later that it clashes ).That trio is gorgeous, but I barely wear eyeshadow as it is, so I don't think it would be put to very good use chez moi. Ponderosa, though, is right up my alley (though I admit, I can't help thinking of the "family steakhouse" commercials every time I see that name...hahah!).

Sounds like a great haul Katie! Is the Miss Liberty like the highlight version of Sex Appeal? (I loveeeee that blush so much. It doesn't make me look pinker then I am and adds nice color!)

It kind of is, yes! I love Sex Appeal, too. Miss Liberty is pale and sheer, but Sex Appeal is more pigmented -- it definitely deposits more color. If I can get a decent swatch of both, I can post a comparison. Miss Liberty is definitely more of a highlight -- but if you're pale, you could probably wear it on its own, too.

i used to be super obsessed with nars! I used to freak out about all the new collections lol! (and then buy like everything, and then go back and return things i didn't actually need a few weeks later lol)

@sephoramusthave i love that palette! Actually when they came out last year i went and bought both... and then returned both after realizing i already had the colors i liked and really didn't need them. lol! ps you're my hero in terms of not buying like a crazy person! (my bf's says i should be like you!)

what do you think about the g-spot multiple? I'm intrigued by it!
