Q. How to get natural volume?
So my everyday hair routine is to straighten my sorta loose wavy hair and spray dry shampoo that has volume in it. Unfortuantly the volume doesn't last long, but im getting tired of using up all my sprays and buying new ones. I want to get natural volume. My mom who is 52 always dyes, blowdries, and ties her hair. She has a lot of split ends but she still has a lot of natural volume. She doesn't do anything to try to get volume. I don't think damaging my hair will help. Do any of you know how to get natural volume? I stopped teasing since it takes too much time having to brush out the tangle, plus it damages my hair a lot btw. Thanks, atexnoemi.

Hola! So, I'm dying to know everybody's beauty tips (or ideas!!) for longer healthier hair? Pills, shampoos, product, homemade remedies, style ideas (heard a ponytail is good for hair growth?) seriously, any idea would be helpful! Is there anything I could get at a salon to help out? Q. Solutions for thick, dry, frizzy hair
The title basically says it all. I have really long, thick, wavy hair--and I'd consider myself very lucky if it weren't for all the frizz! I suspect it's because my hair is dry. =/ Any suggestions? I'd prefer something that can be applied to dry hair to sort of "tame" it, but at this point I'm pretty much open to anything that works--conditioners, shampoos, relaxing balms, oils, anything!   Extra love if it smells amazing.   Thanks for the help. =)

Q. Suggestions for curing fear of hair oils...had bad experience with Ojon...
My hair is course, thin, and dry with blonde highlights. It tends to have frizz and a little wave too, and my roots get oily. I tried a sample of Ojon oil and it was terrible...the smell was overwhelmingly awful (maybe the product had gone bad?? really it was that horrible) and it made my hair stringy until I washed it a few times in a row.   Any suggestions for better hair treatments?

Q. Curling wand noob needs advice on the basics please?
Hi! I have never in my life used a curling tool, but recently purchased a tapered curling wand and have been staring at it for days, afraid to use it because I have no idea how to get started. i have naturally wavy/curly hair that has a very inconsistent curl pattern, so if I let it just air dry totally naturally (no product or styling), it's a poofy, crazy mess. Normally I either straighten it with straightening balm, a blow dryer and flat iron, or use a little curl defining cream and twist 1 inch sections into tight spirals, which air dry into loose spiral waves that stay until the next time I wash. I'm hoping to use the tapered wand to get larger, more defined spiral curls, and have watched several tutorials on how to maneuver the wand, but I literally don't know how to start. My questions: 1. Do I blow dry straight first, and then curl? That seems counterproductive, but if so, do I put any product in it before blow drying? Or 2. Do I let it air dry natural, and then curl? If so, do I put any product in it while it dries? Or 3. Do I "style" it curly like I would normally do (curl defining cream, twist sections, air dry), and then use the wand to curl the loose spiral waves into larger, more defined curls?   Thanks in advance for any advice y'all have!

Q. When is it time to replace a flat-iron?
I've had my GHD for about five years now - no crackling, no drops, no cord issues, no fuse problems; I am thrilled that my darling iron has lasted this long!  But I've noticed my hair just doesn't seem to look as "pretty" after ironing as it did when I first started using it - now its still a bit poofy and not as sleek and shiny.   I thought maybe there was product build-up, so I've cleansed the plates - no change.  The plates still seem to get awful hot.  It's not my shampoo/conditioner/styling products and tools, as I use quality brands.  Maybe the ceramic has worn down? Maybe it doesn't get as hot as I think it does.  Maybe my color-treated hair is just trying to tell me that its poor strands are fried!   I bought a new GHD back in November during VIBTOPIA, but I haven't been able to bring myself to open the box due to not knowing if it's the iron or my hair.  If it's not the iron, that's money that could go towards more makeup!  On the other hand, after almost daily use for five years, should I really expect my iron to behave brand-new?   How do I determine where to draw the replacement line??

Q. Looking for pins not bobby pins
I see that Sephora does not currently sell the pins I am looking for.  I went to a nice salon and had my hair done in an updo a long time ago.  They didn't use bobby pins.  They used pins instead.  I found some pins at a store but they are too wide.  They were the Sta-Rite 100-1 3/4" & 2" black tipped hair pins.   I want something close to a bobby pin but not so closed between the two pieces of metal.       Any ideas where to find the product in this picture?

A long time ago in place called Tony & Guy in Scottsdale, Arizona (now called Brillare) I had my hair done. This chick said if she can use this product to make my roots feel "clean," I said sure. She put it on my hair I believe after my wash and before blow-dry. I swear it was a WOW feeling, it was incredible!!! Now I would like to find this product and use it because I loved the feeling of a "clean root." I forgot what it looks like and called. If any of you use, or know of a product that does that. Q. Wanting to get my strands off the back of my neck without cutting it
I have a problem...There is alot of hair strands in my neck that I personally don't like. I want to grow my hair, longer…Cutting is not an option right now. My goal is to grow it longer to the middle of my chest; it is lil longer than where my collarbone is. In my past I used to cut it short in the summer, since I lived in a warmer state and grow it out in the winter to keep my neck warm, never had a problem...Until 3 years ago...A year ago I made a mistake, It was bothering me soooo much that I end up pulling alot out that made me somewhat bald a couple inches above the neck. So bad that when I went to get my hair done, hair stylists would say what have you done? I do not want that mistake again, very humiliating. So I was wondering if there is some kind of hair gel, or some kind of product to keep them out of my way. Something that is maximum hold and can hold for a really long time...Say like 5-8 hours, or possibly the whole day. Hair clips aren't working...The strands keep falling out, so much that it's driving me crazy! If you can help me, that would really help. Thanks!

Q. I need my hair long and strong(and super soft) help!
So I'm trying to grow my hair out so that when I curl it it will be at my waist line. I would say I need it to grow about 8 inches give or take but the problem is it's already getting damaged. I already don't dye my hair, the only heat it gets is I blow dry my bangs on medium heat and curl my hair on low. However, my hair is naturally thin so I guess it breaks a little easier and I try to only take off about an inch of split ends every 3 months so it will keep growing longer. I need ideas for how to get my hair to grow fast and how to fight off the damage. If we can get that down I also love my hair to be super soft. Any ideas?

Q. hair removal
Hello there! I'm currently looking for different methods of hair removal (for my legs and underarms), whether it be a super cheap natural method or a machine. I really don't want to fork out money to get laser hair removal just yet, I just want something that really works for the time being.   I've heard of the no! no! remover, pumice stone removal, and tria (which is for darker hair and lighter skin, which I have light skin and REALLY light hair). I also, have thought about waxing, but I'm slightly nervous about the pain factor and the idea.   Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
