A little hair history:   I have dry, coarse, color-treated hair. I maybe color my hair twice a year, never lifting, only depositing. I try to avoid heat tools unless I'm going out, in which I will use a heat protectant before flat-ironing. I was my hair every 3-4 days using a Lush shampoo bar to control my dandruff and Macadamia Oil conditioner.    In the past year my hair began to shed more than usual.I went to my doctor in which we did bloodwork...all coming back negative. A couple months prior I was given a foam treatment for psoriasis. I have since stopped using it because I noticed the hair loss after using the product. My doctor thought it was most likely stress and potentially a poor diet.    Now, my hair shedding has slowed down and appears to be normal, but I am noticing more than ever before that the hairs on my temples are significantly shorter than the rest of my hair, almost broken off. They are also much thinner. I don't wear my hair back, so I've ruled out breakage from wearing my hair back too tight.   Has anyone ever experienced this and/or found a solution?

I need some help finding some good hair products for this summer!    About my hair:  - Medium thickness but with a full amount of hair  - Naturally wavy to straight  - It's color-treated  - Shoulder length    What I Need Help With:  - I'm going to be working as a zip-line tour guide this summer, meaning I'll be out in the sun a lot. Do I need UV protection for my hair? What products can give me that kind of protection  - I'm living on the beach this summer, I'll probably be in the water a lot, which can take a toll on hair. What products would I need to take care of hair that's been in and out of water a lot? - Recently, my scalp has been starting to be dry in small patches. Is this from using the same shampoo and conditioner for too long? What can I do to eliminate the dry patches other than just scrubbing hard? (Head & Shoulders had no effect when used on the spots, so I don't think it's "traditional" fungal dandruff)   Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm completely product-savvy when it comes to makeup and skincare but I'm totally lost when it comes to hair care and styling. I have super long hair, slightly past my breasts. It's pretty much all one length now.   Part of the problem is that I desperately need a cut and being 25 and being recently laid off and not having any money saved up is a problem. I wasn't expecting to get laid off. The decision came rather quickly as I thought we would be around at least another year before making that drastic of a decision. I haven't had a haircut in like 2 years.  The problem is that my mom is not willing to pay for a haircut unless she likes it. And she does not like the idea of me having "alternative" hair. And honestly the style I picked isn't even that anti-conformist so what the heck is the problem. I wanted it cut shorter with layers, possibly with bangs. I had a few ideas about color: 1) blonde in the back, black bangs and front sides 2) half blonde half black, like cruella deville lol with no bangs and I'm sure I had plenty more ideas somewhere. Three months ago she said she would schedule an appointment when she's free. She said not waste her money on hair dye and bleach and so I didn't because I thought I'd get my hair cut. It never happened. She wanted me to hopefully change my mind about the hairstyle and colour I wanted. This turned into a bit of a rant but it's really annoying having long hair in the summer and I'm about ready to take scissors and trim it. Not going to lie, I got fed up and did it before when i was 16. It was a crooked mess but it actually made her move and do it since she was so embarrassed to go out in public with me.   So gah. My hair is super fine, thin and looks greasy as heck on day 2. It's all one length so I can't even do anything with it other than put it up and pretend like it's not there. I was wondering what kind of hair care products would be good for my hair type as well as for styling for whenever I actually do manage to get a haircut or cut my own **bleep** hair. So what's good in the shampoo/conditioner/dry shampoo/styling products/hair spray/etc?   P.S. While I'm here I might also be looking for a good black hair dye and bleach. And products for maintaining a white blonde colour. I've dyed my hair black in the past and there's one L'Oreal product that works great. I forget the name but I know what the box looks like. I've had friends bleach my hair in the past but I don't remember what they used and I don't talk to them anymore. So I'm not sure what products are good for bleaching and maintaining bleached hair. If I ever do get there, I'm just wondering what good products are to maintain the colour.   Here's some sample photos of what I want: images taken from google     Spoiler (Highlight to read)   Spoiler (Highlight to read) ^-- Like this or the blonde and black reversed. Not sure yet.   Spoiler (Highlight to read) Spoiler (Highlight to read) ^-- this kind of blonde.  still determining bangs vs no bangs.

Hello all,  I'm looking for some help with my hair. It is long and wavy, and up until recently, was fairly thick. Within the past year or so I have noticed a ton of shedding and hair loss in the shower. My hair is about half the thickness it used to be and my scalp has become very sensitive. I'm only 18 so aging is definitely not a factor. I don't use any form of heat (curling, straightening, blow drying), have never colored my hair, and haven't had any major lifestyle changes recently that could cause this. I've heard it could be caused by stress but I am a very laid back person and the only stress I've felt is over the fact that all my hair is falling out. I've been taking biotin, a multi vitamin, and fish oil for the past few years. I also have been trying to use shampoos without sulfates for the past year or two. Any help is appreciated!

I last posted about my battles with shaving unwanted hair on my face.  Well, today I'm going to go back to waxing.  The only thing is, I'm wondering how it will be when growing out again?  Will my concealer keep the new growths hidden until they are the minimum length to be removed?  I have some Poetic Wax leftover from when I used to use it on a regular basis, so I'm crossing my fingers that I can be somewhat hair free especially for this weekend when I'm at the race!  It looks like the forecast is going to be filled with rain, and that's not ideal for having to conceal all this darn hair!  Thoughts??

So I have very thin curly/wavy hair, but its super dry !!! I only straighten it once a week and I either have it curly with a gel or in a bun. I rarely dye my hair, my hair is brown and I have never bleached it either. Does anyone know a good brand to restore back my very dull hair?  Please Help!!!

Hello everyone!    I'm still new to this store and all that comes with it, but I have experienced a lot of different things for my hair problem. I have really oily hair and yet  I also have dandruff like no tomorrow. I would like to see if I can't find something to help control both of these problems. I have tried a lot of different things in the past to help with the problems, but any long term use of items soon becomes ineffective.    What would be recommended to use?

Hello all, I am having a hip replaced next month which will be welcome because I haven't been able to leave my house since Feb. It's a long story but I have a sublexed, deformed and arthritic hip that needs to be replaced and I have to wait for a specialized surgeon because of my Cerebral Palsy.    Ok now for the beauty question. Have quite oily hair and won't be able to shower for a week after the surgery so does anyone have Dry Shampoo recommendations? Yes, I know I will be able to have Sponge baths.   You all have given me much enjoyment this past months! Love being a part of this community!

My hair is naturally curly in the back, wavy on the sides, and straight in the front (It used to be stick straight but seems to be getting curlier as I age).  It straightens nicely, so I blow it out to style.  My issue is that on super humid days, or when I'm at the beach, my ends will curl up - just my ends.  I'm looking for a product that will block the humidity and keep those ends straight.  I've been eyeing Alterna Anti-Humidity Hairspray - it seems to have favorable reviews.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am having some serious issues with my hair lately. It's very humid and hot where I live and if I try to flat iron my hair it gets wavy, but if I try to curl it it goes stick straight within an hour. It's like it wants to do the opposite of whatever I want it to do. I've tried so many products and nothing works! My hair is slightly wavy and very fine and thin. Please recommend something that will help this mess I'm working with!
Hair
I have long, thick, curly hair and I can't seem to find a good flat iron that actually works on my hair.

Is there anyone who is gluten-free (celiac or non-celiac gluten sensitivity) that knows about hair color brands that are safe to use? Or anyone who works in a salon that has heard of any.

Does anyone have any advice, or know enough to compare different types of flat irons? I'm wondering if all of the tourmaline/ceramic irons with adjustable heat settings are created equal.   After about 8 years of faithful service, my trusted Chi straightener appears to be on the fritz. I did a little research on flat irons, thinking that I was going to get a T3 (I bought the T3 Whirl Trio curling wand recently and it is amazing). After consideration, I ended up buying the Rusk Heat Freak Str8 iron, thinking it's also tourmaline/ceramic, and it should work the same. Plus, my sister got it for Christmas and loves it. After using it for the first time this morning, I'm underwhelmed. It took me a long time and a lot of passes to get my hair straight. I don't have that kind of time in the mornings (my makeup application suffered greatly at the expense of my hair, haha). I'm just a little afraid to spend the money on the T3 if it is going to basically be the same as the Rusk.

Hello all! I'm wondering, if anyone knows if the PhytoRelaxer is okay to use on children's hair? I know normal relaxers aren't recommended for them due to the damage they can cause, the lye, etc. but since Phyto is so natural, I was wondering if it could or would do the same type of damage that a lye relaxer would? My daughter has extremely thick, kinky hair (probably about 4a/4b) and wants her hair straight - I'd never use a normal relaxer on her but am hoping that this would be safe enough to use (she's 10, by the way). Any personal experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated

I need a recommendation for a replacement shampoo for Wen. I love the Wen products - it makes my fine hair look great and the couple of places where my hair wigs out and won't lay right settles right down and does what it should. I even started growing new hair. Problem is, I've developed an allergy to something in Wen -I think its one of the preservatives, long name starting with an 'm'.  Any suggestion on something that will not weigh my hair down, but still hydrate and nourish?

I dye my hair a lot and now my ends of my hair are very dry and frizzy and the top is greasy. Ive always had greasy hair even before dying it but now my ends are starting to get dry and frizzy. Also brushing my hair makes it super frizzy. What is a good shampoo/conditioner that I can use to help this?

I've been considering waxing for a long time, but feel very unsure about it. I'd like to just start with the basic bikini wax (everything that would show out of a swimsuit - sides and top).   I get INTENSE razor bumps after shaving and nothing I've tried helps. They get so itchy and painful no matter what kind of clothing I wear after or how many lotions/creams I put on (so you can imagine the embarrassment of swimming or "playing" after shaving, it just sucks). Has anyone cured their razor bumps with bikini waxes?   I read really positive things about how it lessens hair growth over time, but I'd love to hear from my Sephora ladies thank you!

I have very thick hair and it takes a very long time to blow dry my hair. I need some sort of spray or balm to put in it to make this process go faster. I know it's out there I just don't know what it's called or where to find it. I was hoping sephora would have something I'm looking for but I can't seem to come up with anything. I don't have the time to let my hair dry naturally. Thank you.

So, I usually have really healthy hair. I don't wash but maybe every 3 days. It's medium length. It's fine but I have a lot of it. I blow it dry and flat iron my bangs. It is color treated. For some reason, whether it was the crappy hair dryer I was using, or product I've been using, my hair is fried. I have tons of broken baby hairs on the top of my head. I have finally got my bangs to grow back out but they are a bit crispy. Any suggestions? I don't usually like heavy, creamy shampoos because it weighs my hair down and makes it greasy, at least near the temples. Help!

I'd like to buy a clipless curling iron.  I've seen good reviews for both of these but would like to hear from someone who's tried both as to what the pros and cons of each are. Thanks!

I am looking into a new flat iron and have heard great things about the KQC Flat Iron and things about NuMe too.  I was leaning more towards the KQC at first, but then when I saw many beauty youtube guru's using NuMe, it made me think again.    Just wondering which one is better or if both are just the same? Any tips on which one to get? Any pros and cons?

Hi, I have thick hair coarse Indian hair  and I LOVE it. But I always end up getting split ends at the bottom and I HATE IT. Any advice on how to treat split ends without having to cut them? I LOVE my hair and I want to grow it out! I would appreciate the advice.

I've been experimenting with hair oils/deep conditioner the past couple months because the front of my hair REFUSES to grow. I've completely taken away heat all together for about a month now and I've seen a little bit of improvement but nothing drastic. My confusion however has to do with the after effect of the hair oil (i.e. Organix Smooth Hydration Aragon Oil & Shea Butter) After I put it in, whether it be at the ends, all over, while it's damp, right out of the shower (I've tried everything) it never fails to feel 10x dryer than it did before. I can't even run my hands through it. It has this gum-like feeling. It's hard to explain. Has anyone else experienced something like this? If so, how did you fix it?
Hair
I have fine, thinning hair that is color treated. I am looking for a new shampoo/conditioner, any suggestions? Thanks!

A couple of months ago, I went and got copper strips in my hair. I had never dyed my hair before and was very upset with the job so I bought a box dye of intense black red (or something similar) and it just developed a red sheen on top of my hair.  I want to dye my hair dark again, but will that get rid of the strips?
Hair
I got a keratin treatment done about 6 months ago and it seems to have ruined my hair. I've never had a problem with split ends or breakage before. how can i keep my hair from getting further damage? I've been looking at the living proof restore hair mask but I don't know...

OK ladies. This story could take a long time, but i am gonna condense it down. I went to a new hair dresser to get my highlights touched up. I have a brown base and I had some pretty blonde highlights. I tend to say- I want Gemma Teller hair, for my SOA fans out there! Anywho. Well to make a long story short, she left me with some orange patches. I went back to get her to tone it, and lo and behold, MY WHOLE HEAD WAS BROWNISH! REDDISH. COPPERISH. GREENISH. The blonde strands have a green cast, and the rest of it is just multi colored. Now it doesn't look as bad as i think it does, but it looks BAD. Any recs on what i can do to try and even it out? She won't even return my texts
Hair
I have coarse-thin hair that is pretty damaged due to bleaching & heat styling. Two biggest struggles are lack of volume & really dead-looking, unmanageable ends. Not sure if I should try the restore or full line, or maybe even the PHD...any suggestions from those who have used them??
Hair
Recently, I was told that my individual hair strands are very fine making them easy to weigh down.    I had never considered this before, because I have a lot of hair, it's curly, and I've always struggled with moisturizing the ends. So I'd never considered that my hair could also be fine at the same time.  So I'm looking for hair products to help. The water in my area is extremely hard, and it's doing a number on my hair. But when I use heavier moisturizers my hair looks greasy and loses volume.  I have no idea what to do!
