Hair!!
I've recently been thinking about getting my hair in a U or V cut. I have long, thick, light brown hair down to about the bottom of my ribcage. Which would be better for me, a V cut or a U cut?

Favorite hair products for your hair type
I know there is a ton of favorite makeup product posts, but what about hair? As most of us know our hair is one of the most important features and has to be handled with care. Why is hair so important? Well, it depicts what style of makeup we're going for, what the occasion is, and sometimes (most of the time) how our mood is affected throughout the day/night. When we have bad hair days, it seems like whatever we do that day is just not that fabulous. However, on good hair days we feel on top of this world! I'd like to see what products make you most happy because "Ain't nobody got time for"...bad hair days!   List your hair type + fill in your favorite products (copy/paste below outline, erase my favorites)   Example:   Hair type : Wavy Hair length : Armpit  Hair color : Balayage / Golden brown _______________________________   Shampoo : Searching for a fav. (using L'Oreal EverPure Volume) Conditioner : Searching for a fav. (using L'Oreal EverPure Volume) Mask : Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery  Leave-in-Conditioner : n/a Treatment : One 'N Only Argan Oil (just on my ends) Heat Protectant : TRESemmé Volumizer: Kenra 25 + MOP Root Lift Texturizer : Bumble and bumble Surf Spray Hair Spray : Nexxus Maxximum  Dry Shampoo : Baby powder (it's cheap) Finishing Product:  ALTERNA Bamboo Kendi Oil Mist  Brush :  Olivia Garden  Ceramic + Ion Turbo Vent  Blow Dryer:  BaByliss Pro Ceramix Xtreme  Styling Tool: Remington Wand

To perm or not to perm?
Hello everyone! For the past couple of months I've been considering getting a perm. Something kind of loose and relaxed, nothing like my nan's blue rinse However, I am concerned about the effects on my hair. I currently have "virgin" hair in the sense that it's never been coloured or highlighted or had any chemical alteration. I keep it well conditioned, but I'm concerned that the perm will really badly damage it? Would the convenience/aesthetics of a perm outweigh the damage? Or are there products that could help keep my hair well maintained?

How to get a "piecey" look for my long hair?
I'm looking for a product to create a piecey look for my hair.  I have naturally way hair, and sometimes I'll use a beach spray, I like the one by Bumble and bumble. But it's not the look I'm quite trying for when I say piecey.  I say that I see short  hair styles like this mostly, it's messy and choppy, but I know there has to be a way for longer hair to be this way, I've seen pictures.  I need a product that will allow me to wear my hair like this, either straight or wavy.  Anyone have suggestions?

Q. Hair type tips
So I have very fine hair that gets really really frizzy, no matter what I do. I know hot showers aren't that great for your hair, so I usually take cool-ish showers. But still, after I get out and style my hair(etc) it gets all these little fuzzies on top! It is really dry where I live, so I thankfully don't have to worry about humidity. I am getting really frustrated with it and don't know how to help my weird hair! Any advice will be taken!! Btw...I have a medium A-line haircut.

Favorite Hair Mask or Leave-In Treatment?
My hair has been driving me crazy for years, and I have yet to find something to tame it. My hair is halfway between full-out ringlets and waves. The problems that drive me crazy are split ends and frizz- particularly at the back of my head and right above my forehead. I have all these short little pieces at my forehead!   Hair oil is one thing I want to avoid- I've tried multiple types and all it does is make my hair look crazy greasy.   Couple things I'm looking at right now- have heard good things about the Devacurl line and the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner. I've also recently tried some small samples of the Living Proof No Frizz line. Anyone tried these or have some other recommendations they love?

What is your signature hairstyle?
So I know a lot of people do their hair in a certain way more than others, for example, I love rocking a side pomp or a side braid with my hair down or up, if I'm having a bad hair day. It is rarely a pomp going straight back. I started doing this when I was in junior high! Now that I am graduating college, I am trying to change it up. I did a side part yesterday for graduation photos and it looked good!    Now I'd like to know, what is your signature hairstyle if you have one? Or what is your favorite hairstyle or even haircut?

Do you switch up your hair routine?
Summer's coming, and I know lots of people are switching up the make up and skincare routine. Do you also switch up your hair routine? My hair gets a bit dry in the winter, but now it's super itchy and oily, ugh. As much as I hate buying expensive haircare, I think I might splurge and try the B&B sunday shampoo. Anyone know of any good shampoo for itchy, oily, thinning hair?

I need a new shampoo!
I've been dedicated to Bumble & Bumble's Seaweed shampoo and conditioner for years. Recently I cut my hair several times, totaling about 12-15 inches off of where it was a year ago. Since I've done this, my hair seems to get more oily quicker than it did when it was long. My old favorite doesn't seem to be getting it as clean as it should as I can only go a day or two before another wash. I really love Bumble & Bumble, but something's gotta give. Any ideas?!

best hair mask?
I have naturally curly hair that tends to be damaged due to heat styling. It also has some frizz and very dry ends. I'm looking for a really great hair mask to use about once a week that will improve the condition of my hair (or make it last since I just got a trim)... I was looking at the Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Mask and the Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Hair Treatment and I was wondering if anyone had strong opinions on these or if there was another one you'd recommend?   Thank you!

Waves V Curls?
I have a TON of hair (like... a lot.) I want to curl it for prom but it gets BIG when I curl it. Would curls or waves bring volume down a bit? (In the shaft, not at the root) I have fairly long hair, down to the middle of my back, but my hair just gets so big when I curl it, it doesn't look that long. I want it to go on for days, while still having some style. So would curls (would a smaller barrel or a larger barrel produce less volume?) or waves (how would I make waves...) have less volume in the shaft itself?

Living Proof full shampoo
Has anyone with color treated & oily hair tried this and liked it, your experience? I tend to have oily hair so 2-3 days is as far as i can go. But since i do color my hair ive tried to find a sulfate free shampoo to maintain my color. im currently using a few different ones from matrix, and while it doesn't fade it i thought it would be better to have the option to alternate   Ive tried wen and its not for me, the problem i find with sulfate free is that it doesn't fully clean my scalp especially since its oily. wen after a while built up and weighed my hair down. Right now i use it solely as a conditioner and it works great that way. Anyone use living proof? i am thinking of trying the small size.

Salon Brands vs Drugstore Brands.
As a hairstylist, i'm always interested in what every thinks in regards to Salon Brand hair products vs drugstore products. I presonally have always used Salon Brands, Mainly Redken. But i recently quit my job and am cutting back on things, and with Haircare i decided to venture out into drugstore brands. I know many people who love Suave's Professionals line, So I got the Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner.  And I found it wasn't any different than Salon brands, My hair wasn't any worse or better. I have tried countless Salon brands and i can honestly say i don't think if they are worth the price. I get the same results no matter what the brand. Although Deep conditioners are the one things i think a salon brand like Redken and Biolage are worth the price! Amazing results. But i'm interested in what every thinks and have tried and how you would compare.

Thick Coarse Long Hair
I have tried several hair products and nothing is able to tackle my hair. I have long hair, it reaches the tips of my shoulder blades, it is quite coarse, and it has two different textures [the upper bits being between wavy and straight, and the undercoat is curly/wavy(but it is stretched out because of my length) and coarse], as well as frizzy. It has split ends as well as a ton of dandruff. It might be damaged, I don't know. I've never met anyone who has similar hair to me, and I can't find any shampoos, conditioners, or products to take care of it. I found a treatment shampoo that takes care of my dandruff, but for everything else I'm at an impasse. I need some advice on what shampoos and conditioners might work for me. Also, do you know if thick almost "double coated" hair is common?

Best finishing product for hair
Help Ladies!   I'm looking for a good finishing product to apply to my dry hair after it is styled. My hair is in good condition overall- I don't really have issues with breakage or split ends. However, it seems like it always kind of looks like a hot mess, especially when it's straight. The ends take on a dry messy appearance, even though my hair doesn't feel dry. It also seems to tangle fairly easily. I use Carol's Daughter Monoi mask several times per week and always use a heat protectant, etc. I get a trim every 8-10 weeks.   My hair is long, color treated, and medium thickness.   I have tried biosilk and it didn't seem to help much. I was thinking of trying Moroccan Oil- do you think this would be a good option? Open to any and all suggestions!!!    Thanks!

New short bob - what product to help natural wave/curl without making my blond hair look greasy?
I have a new chin length bob, and I'm trying to figure out how to style it in various ways. I've figured out what to do if I want it to be more or less straight (I use a Phyto product and it tames the frizz nicely and gives a soft finished look) but I'd really like something for those days when I want to basically wash and go - if I just let it dry naturally it tends to puff up a bit (think dandelion) and the Phyto stuff I use normally seems to make the natural curl/wave fall out, so while my hair isn't puffy it's kind of blah.   I really want something that will help my hair keep the natural wave and that sort of casual/fun tousled look that seems like it'd be good for summer. I used to have really long hair so I didn't use styling products at all because mostly I braided it somehow, so I'm completely baffled by the options.
