Depends when you use the hairspray. If you spray it on wet hair, then use it with a curling iron, it will turn crispy crunchy....I call them crackle curls! Hate that! LOL!
Use the hairspray after to set the curl. I like Elnett also, and Frizz Ease Hairspray (sorry sephora). : )
Curls will drop a little with time. Curl them a bit tighter, and they will drop a bit, to where you prefer them.
