I'm fasting...
with my straightener, that is!
I already typed this up and it was erased because I wasn't signed it. Seriously, sephora, fix that.
ANYWAY, keeping it short and simple now. I've been going to a salon chain and, over the past two years, I've realized that they aren't helping me grow out my hair as I had asked. THEY'RE CHOPPING IT OFF. I can't afford to spend a ton of money for a simple little trim every couple of months so I'm trying to lay off on my salon visits. I generally straighten my hair EVERY day, blow drying it every other on the low setting. It must be blow dryed and ridding of that is just not an option for me. I can, however, retire my flat iron. My hair is crazy and looks absoultely ridiculous when it isn't straightened but I feel like this is detrimental to the health of my hair. Will this help in any way? Will reducing heat time help to expand time between salon visits or am I just kidding myself? I do use a leave-in conditioner and LP's Restore line. Thanks in advance!

Hi xoxocatrina,
I think thats a great idea you had and it will keep your hair longer and healthier! I too used to use a flat iron and blow dryer nearly EVERY day without a heat protectant. I now still use my blow dryer but add supplements and products to keep my hair smooth, damage free and protected from the heat and it's grown a LOT in the last year!
Getting those trims my hair always seemed to stay the same length, never growing longer or getting to what I wanted. I wish you lots of luck and congrats on cutting back on damaging your hair! ![]()
