Hey! Most people who have light hair when they are younger end up having darker hair when they’re older. This is completely normal and my hair did the same thing! When I was little I had light golden brown hair. As I got older it got darker and by the time I reached my teens it got to be a medium brown. I wished my hair was lighter for a long time but then I got used to it and I realized that true brown hair is beautiful. So remember that your old hair color is beautiful, and your new hair color is equally beautiful. If you do want to lighten your hair a little, I’ve used sunin and it works really well for my hair. I think it’s fun to have lighter hair during summer. It just lightens a little bit at a time. Lightening your hair in any way will damage it a little so keep that in mind. Also depending on how dark your hair is and how it lifts it can possibly turn orange. I haven’t had this experience but I’ve heard of it happening. Just remember that no matter what, your hair is beautiful, and how you look is such a tiny part of life so don’t worry too much about it and remember to have fun!

Before I wash my hair, I use the Mielle light rosemary oil on my scalp and pure almond oil on my ends (both ~$10 on Amazon) and let it sit in a bun for 2-4 hours. In the shower, I use the Sephora scalp scrub before shampooing to get rid of any excess oil and keep my scalp from getting greasy, and I try to do a hair mask in the shower every two weeks (Amika has some great ones!), which is great for damage, and after I finish showering I use Amika Hydro Rush leave-in conditioner, CHI heat protectant, and Olaplex No. 7. I've been doing this for about 5 months and my hair feels super soft and is growing like crazy!

I just started using the Caliray "Come Hell or High Water" waterproof mascara and it's great for lengthening, volume, and stays on the whole day (although the application can take some time). It's also in sustainable packaging which is always a plus 🙂

You may be allergic to the ingredients. I’m having major issues with hair loss at the moment from using the dry shampoo from living proof. I stopped using it 3 weeks ago and my hair has thinned more than I’d like to admit. Linalool is one to look out for causes contact dermatitis. Limonene is another one. I hope your hair recovers. I started using surface awakening. It’s a bit pricy. But it works.

@BoldandBearded I am not a big fan of dry shampoo in general; it seems to just make my hair look dirtier. I have had the best results with Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-Powder Dry Shampoo Powder 2 oz/ 56 g .
