I know there are a few of us on BT that are fragrance addicts, so I thought it would be nice to have a dedicated place where we can share our thoughts. This is not to take away from the lovely What Are You Wearing Today, Fragrance Edition thread, but more a place to post longer reviews, chat about new brands or releases, and just shoot the breeze on anything good and smelly For me, I recently acquired 2 new decants that I've been anxiously awaiting. Ever since Lachaton mentioned that MMM was releasing a new scent called By The Fireplace I've been itching to get my hands on it. My decant arrived yesterday, so I'm looking forward to marinating in it this weekend. Secondly, I recently picked up a tiny sample of Shiseido Nombre Noir. Apparently it is one of the most expensive failures in perfume history - made by Serge Lutens for Shiseido back in the 80s. Of course, with a backstory like that, I was dying to get a sniff What's new on your scent radar? Do tell!
I'm one of those gals that are obsessed with fragrances and have about around 50 60 70 80 and still collecting...(if you want to call it that.) So I would like to know what are you wearing today? I'm wearing Obsession...(hahaha kinda fits this thread, doesn't it? )
With summer coming, I find myself in search of a new summer fragrance. For summer, I love light, fresh scents that remind me of the beach or the ocean. Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Gioia has been a long time favourite, along with Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue. This year, I'm looking at Bobbi Brown's Beach, and Maison Martin Margiela Replica Beach Walk. What are your fave fragrances for summer?
Blooming Bouquet smells amazing omg, i so want to buy it. BUT, i looked at there seem to be a stronger version of it out there and id love to get that too. Without taking the risk of buying it automatically i wanted to ask, what is the difference between the original and the absolute one. I know for other scents that do this like bright crystal, that scent smells more floral and musky while **bleep** the absolute version smells like it but more berries. Thanks
Hello ladies I'm currently writing my Master's thesis about communication, and I'm really looking for pictures of some Fragrance Sample Postcards that I can use as some examples on how to use scent in commercials. I've tried finding pictures online without any luck on getting a good picture of both sides of the postcard(s). Is it possible that any of you have some of these postcards with a sample, and that can take some (good) pictures of it/them? Both front page and the back page ? Thanks in advance. - Maibrit
so....what are your go-to home fragrances ? i have 3, currently, that reign as favorites. two candles and one incense. candles NEST home -- moroccan amber . i really really rate nest candles. their output is incredible, you get your money's worth. and i love this scent. it's warm and cozy, and while it smells like 'home' to you may add a slight air of intrigue and mystery to guests. DIPTYQUE vanille . a vanilla that is not too sweet. deep, warm, creamy. as i said in the hauls thread when i got it last month...i didn't expect to like this just as much as i did. it's true love. incense BLACKBIRD BALLARD incense pyres in AI . they describe it as follows: "Ai contrasts the green leafy plants of our gardens with a sophisticated richness of the marble covered palaces of our dreams." so, a cooling grassy marble. this is another one i didn't expect to love as much as i did, but when i burnt it i was intoxicated. the notes are geranium, rose stem, moss and mint. though i swear i detected a bit of zesty lemon. it's sharp and cooling, not too floral but earthy. adore. how about you guys ? what do you like in your home ?
So I've recently become obsessed with fragrances and I know Sephora doesn't currently sell The Clean Summer Sun fragrance, but I know it did in 2015. I was just wondering if any of you had a chance to smell it/test it out and your thoughts on it? I can't seem to find many reviews on it. I want something that's aquatic/fruity and summery. I also am interested in the Clean Skin fragrance for summer/winter and was wondering what people's thoughts on that one are? Is it really musky or more light/airy? I currently wear black opium for nighttime/evenings, so I'm looking for a more summer/daytime scent. I do enjoy Marc Jacob's Daisy Dream, but it never seems to last one me. I also like Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell. I also enjoy Fresh's Sugar Lychee scent, but again, it doesn't last on my skin. I really wanted to like Armani's Acqua Di Gioia, but it smelled too chemically on my skin and I am trying to stay away from DG Light Blue since I know many people wear it. Let me know your thoughts on those two Clean scents or another other recommendations would be appreciated!
I am allergic to Chanel no 5! I got some as a Xmas gift (the eau de parfum) and it made me break out. Pretty bad. I didn't want to admit it was that even though I hadn't changed anything else so I sprayed one spray in my elbow nook and within 2 hours a minor rash started. I gave it to my mom and it works fine on her. Anyone who wears many different perfumes (like me) find something they are allergic to?
Hi! I need help choosing a fragrance to gift my mom for her birthday. She is in love with both Jimmy Choo's Jimmy Choo and Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. They both have patchouli base notes and mandarin orange top notes. It'd be great if some similar fragrances could be suggested. Thanks!
Hello all. I have been hunting for a new scent for FOREVER. I know what I like but can't seem to find a good fit. I love what most people would describe as hippie scents (incense, sandalwood, amber, campfire, patchouli, spice market, Arabian nights ) but I don't want to smell like a headshop - I work for a conservative company and so I would like a grown up fragrance with the notes that speak to me without getting a call from HR for a drug test. I like those addictive woods, resins, and warm florals but more often than not find that scents in this family tend to be paired heavily with vanilla - which claws at me. I don't like anything too sweet, powdery or to musky. I do like scents that lean masculine and don't oppose wearing a men's or unisex fragrance. Right now I am using the Ambre & Santal body wash/lotion by L`Occitane followed by Spanish Amber perfume by Pacifica. The Spanish Amber really speaks my language - but it does not have any sillage or staying power... and I have become 100% scent blind to it after years of use. That said, it is described as: This modern and mystical blend has warm and resinous Amber notes at its heart, Rosy Geranium and woody Sandalwood in the middle and citrusy Bergamot and Elemi on top. I have done countless trials at Sephora trying to find the right one to no avail. Some that I have tried without success: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Tom Ford Black Orchid Thierry Mugler Alien YSL Black Opium Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Tocca Beauty Cleopatra Juliette Has a Gun - all of them Hermes Eau des Merveilles Michael Kors Sexy Amber Fresh Cannabis Santal Searching for specific notes has not served me and so I am hoping that my description of what I like/don't like will inspire some suggestions from you all. Thoughts? TIA!!
I am trying to narrow down my choice for a full size fragrance. I have gotten the short list to 4 but am having trouble making a final decision so any input appreciated. My four possibilities, in no particular order are: Tom Ford Black Orchid Jimmy Choo Illicit Martin Maison Lazy Sunday Morning Versace Eros Femme I have tried all 4 and like them all but would like to narrow it down to 1 or 2 to purchase full size. Thoughts, opinions, experiences with any of the above? Your favorite of the above? Thanks for the help.
I'm dying to buy Replica Lazy Sunday Morning but it is out of stock. I think it might be best to start with the rollerball anyway so that I can decide if I want to shell out for the full size. Is the rollerball still good for this scent? It's such a subtle fragrance that I feel like it needs to be applied sparingly. How can I do this with a rollerball?
So, the omnia paraiba mini that was available in a promo a couple months ago... it's smarter than I am. I can't figure out how to use it. I'm not even sure if it's a spray or a dabber thingy. If anyone could let me know how it works, I'd appreciate it.
I've owned several Burberry fragrances for women over the years. While I'm aware that the ingredients of some perfumes can degrade over time, especially if left in the sunlight, I've never had any trouble with Burberry. (I keep several different scents in rotation, but I always use them up within about a year or year and a half.) But, even though the scent was only launched two years ago and my bottle can't be older than that, my Burberry Rhythm seems to have gone off. It doesn't smell bad, exactly, but it doesn't smell like it used to or like the samples in the store. Anyone know why? Have similar trouble?
This is the one with mini rollerballs of all seven fragrances in the line -- Midnight Fleur, Amazon Lily, Dahlia & Vines, Verde, Indigo, White Sandalwood and Paradise. My faves are White Sandalwood (the one I was most intrigued by & wanted to smell), Midnight Fleur, Verde and Amazon Lily ... in that order. I find Dahlia & Vines way too strong, like you could smell me coming a mile away if I wore it. Indigo is meh. I almost used a 100 pt perk to get one and now I'm glad I didn't. Paradise is somewhere in the middle. What are y'all's faves of the newer scents they've added? Anyone else purchased the sampler? I will probably buy the full size of White Sandalwood with the $25 off coupon next month. I want another heavier, fall/winter scent in addition to Nirvana Black that I already have. I wanted to smell White Sandalwood to make sure they weren't too similar and they're not.
