i remembered that last autumn we had a 'what are you favorite fall fragrances' thread so i thought, with march right around the corner, a favorite spring fragrances could be fun.   to be clear, i don't exclusively wear fragrances that are considered seasonally appropriate. but some days i crave it ! and the older i get the more in tune i am with this, as well.   florals come to mind for spring, but for me it's when the earthy dirt/green scents reign supreme (though vetivers/citrus concoctions or gardenia don't really pop up until summer for me). my list will have both !   TOCCA - colette . this is more of a late winter / early spring fragrance for me. the way this smells, to me, is the way a grey February / march day looks. it's cozy but on the edge of blooming. so i'd feel remiss to not add it here. DIPTYQUE - philosykos . the ultimate fig green scent. not jammy, fruity or tangy, but more suggestive of leaves after a fresh rain in the warmer air. in my top 3 favorite fragrances of ever. DEMETER - tomato . smells of a wet green garden. it reads tomato leaf more than tomato to me, though both are there. green and earthy, the tomato itself gives it a bit of 'bounce'. (special shout out to DEMETER 'new leaf' which i like to mix it with). an under appreciated fragrance note, it melts into the skin, and smells fresh while not at all soapy. ISSEY MIYAKE l'eau d'issey . the classic anti-angel (mugler) from the 90s, designed to smell of water. fresh white florals that are in no way cloying. if anyone is ever interested in training to nose to like florals (rather than simply smell their mom / grandma when they smell them), this is one i recommend to start the ball rolling.  KEROSENE - pretty machine . kerosene fragrances are not for everyone; what i've found is that while most are rather unique, they're not particularly complex, really, which makes them very polarizing (some many people love them because they're very accessible and pleasurable, while a seasoned perfumehead may be craving much more). but i love pretty machine. it's a jasmine bomb which manages to be fun and punky rather than demure and sweet. it basically screams "YEAH I'M A GIRL, DON'T F WITH ME". i'll add more below as and if i think of them. special shoutout to COMMODITY moss (i don't own it--the longevity on me keeps me from purchasing; but i do tend to hoard samples of it)

Haven't seen that question posted yet. I've been wearing L'impératrice from D&G for about 5 to 8 years (can't remember where/how/when I 1st purchased it, its a mystery) and I really love it, however, I'd like to change for something else. I've been getting samples of Jo Malone, Commodity (hated Mimosa), État libre d'Orange (didn't like any of them, still need to try Remarkable People), and none of my Sephora stores carry the Pimrose brand for me to try. What would you suggest? I want something different because I'm entering a new phase in my life, good one, and want to mentally link it to another perfume, but so far, I don't like anything with strong floral or tonka smells... I'm sure you guys understand. I'm looking for high-end, non-celebrity brands, budget of max $200 for 100ml. Thanks!!

Anybody know if the Daisy & Daisy Eau So Fresh mini gift set contains spray bottles? I have received minis before that are not sprays but splashes, and I haven't used them for that reason.   http://www.sephora.com/daisy-daisy-eau-so-fresh-mi ni-gift-set-P416005?skuId=1904333&icid2=products%2 ...   I want Daisy, but I don't use perfume enough to warrant a 1 oz bottle, and it gets funky after two years or so. And I prefer sprays to rollerballs!    Thanks

They're classified under Fragrance on Sephora's website but I wasn't sure if they would be included.

My favorite perfume used to be Possibilities by Ann Taylor.  Unfortunately, it was discontinued. Can anyone suggest perfumes that are similar?

I recently noticed under the Canadian Deals, there was a Chloe fragrance promo code for a free Chloe clutch with purchase of select Chloe fragrances. But no matter what Chloe perfume, and or size I added to the basket, an error came up showing 3 other "item numbers" that only qualify for that code. When I put one of these item numbers in the site's Search, no items matching these item numbers came up. Please help.

I'm on the hunt for an herbal, earthy perfume. Think pine woods and fresh cut herbs. Any ideas?

Has anyone tried Glam Jasmine from MK before? If you did, do you like it or didn't? and what perfume smells similar to Glam Jasmine in your opinion

Do you have a box full of perfume vials and/or a vanity covered in perfume bottles? Are you the Goldilocks of perfume, just looking for the perfect signature scent? Do you want an opportunity to post daily about how your perfume of the day smells oaky and smoky with hints of blackberry and currant, like a cigar in a whisky barrel rolling through a Mediterranean orchard on a breezy summer morning?   If you answered yes to any of the above, or you just want to hop on board for the ride, join us for a 31 days of perfume challenge starting January 1st ! Some of us from the 25 days of lipstick challenge wanted to continue the fun and exploration, and since many of us have so many perfume samples, we thought this challenge would be perfect. If you don't have 31 perfumes or hate everything that doesn't smell like Meyer lemons and fresh goat cream, that's fine--we're just aiming to use the neglected perfumes we have laying around and incorporate them into our perfume rotations.   And if you want more perfume vials, there's no better time than now to take a peek at Sephora's samples section.   Edit: Anyone can join in at anytime! We're here to support, live vicariously through, and encourage everyone in their olfactory adventures!

Hi All! I'm having trouble finding perfumes that I'm not allergic too. Any type of floral perfumes set off my allergies. Can you guys please recommend anything that doesn't have any floral notes in it?   Thanks in advance!

Greetings, ladies!   I'm looking for a cologne for my husband and BLEU DE CHANEL seems to be one that everyone loves. The issue now is which one should I get? Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum? Which one will last all day?   Thanks!

I'm sponsoring a family this holiday season through a local nonprofit and am having trouble with a fragrance request. I know Victoria's Secret discontinued the Dream Angels Divine scent several years ago. Can somebody point me to a fragrance that would smell similar? If Sephora sells a rollerball of said fragrance that would be awesome. For reference, the notes are cyclamen, sandalwood, amber, musk, and jasmine. I'm having a particularly hard time imagining the fragrance right now as someone in my office is eating fried chicken.

I need some suggestions of sweet  and or warm floral or fruity floral scents. List me some of your favorites

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can post our impressions of fragrances we're testing   I finally had a chance to test three of the new Maison Margiela Replicas on my skin! They’re definitely more “niche” and more abstract/challenging than the rest of the Replica line.   Across Sands – Sweet, rich and warm but not overly so. I smelled some oud when I tested this on paper but it was very weak on my skin such that I question if I'm just imagining it. I'd hardly describe it as "daring" or "heady"; actually, I found it comforting more than anything else. The scent of sweet dried dates really comes through. About 15 minutes, there's an almost burnt darkness to it and then it just... deflates. Died down to a skin scent within the hour whereas most perfumes last hours for me.   Soul of the Forest – a wet, resinous, coniferous green that is easily wearable. The opening was fresh, but also a little sour which I found interesting. The incense is very faint. The dry down, by the way, is very rapid . Like Across Sands, it became a skin scent within the hour. Very weak projection.   Dancing on the Moon – the most challenging of the four. To be honest, I was surprized the house went with something that is clearly not going to be a crowd pleaser. This has an intensely indolic white floral character - there’s definitely a faint mothball note for me. It’s also a little powdery; I'm guessing that's the minerality. Much better performance than the other two.   Overall, these were better than I'd anticipated, but they still seemed a little thin/flat to me. Especially AS and SOTF, it's like they just... collapse. If you're looking for niche that's boundary pushing, I'd say try Etat Libre d'Orange which is around the same price point, is more creative and more "filled out."

I have been using this perfume for years; just wanted to try something different but is in the same category (similar notes) Any suggestions? Most perfumes are too pungent or their fragrance leaves my skin in half an hour.

I really love the scent of the Dolce by Dolce&Gabanna but I find that the scent wears off rather quickly. Is there a scent that is similar to it with long staying power?    Thank you!

I've searched high and low and haven't found a dedicated Jo Malone thread, but knowing how many of us enjoy JM products I though it'd be nice to have a place where we can share upcoming news and our favorites.   My all time favorite is Blue Agava and Cacao, followed by Peony Blush Suede. I just picked up Basil and Neroli, which to my nose is a dead ringer for Bobbi Brown Beach! As I love Beach, I think this fragrance is going to be a new fave come the spring. It is different enough from Lime, Basil, Neroli to justify owning both in my collection. Basil and Neroli emphasizes the Neroli while LBM is heavy on the basil and lime, which give it a more herbal edge.

Do you ever try to match your fragrances to your outfits or makeup? Some combos I love to wear:   Etat Libre d'Orange's Like This: A cropped, ultra fuzzy orange mohair sweater and high waisted grey pants with flats. A short, matte manicure. Subtle orange lip and neutral/bronzey eyes. Sock bun.   Nasomatto's Absinthe: a slinky cowl neck deconstructionist top (Maison Martin Margiela) with crisp white shorts and fun heels. Graphic eyeliner and a slash of bright lipstick. Hair straight as a pin. (What's funny is that I would never wear any Replica frags with anything MMM as I don't think they match at all!)   Frederic Malle's Une Fleur de Cassie: a beautifully draping black dress or something ultra-femme. Pretty garters and silk stockings with a back seam. Gold jewelry. Maybe a vintage fur stole. Smoky gold eyes. Hair down, soft waves.   Honestly, I could do this all day...

I'm looking for a fragrance for my mother. She likes warm & floral scents. Her absolute  favourite is the Chanel no. 5 as a reference. She also likes Prada Candy Florale. I'm looking for a scent that she'll like but is also new to her.
Fragrance
My mom's favorite perfume is Chanel No 5, but she hasn't had any for a while, so I'm planning on getting her a bottle for Christmas. She wants the "biggest, most economical" bottle available. So should I get the parfum, the eau de parfum, or the eau de toilette, and in what size? Does a bottle of parfum really last long enough to be worth the extra price?
Women
From Marc Jacob's collection on perfume, which one's do you think smell very sweet?     From Dior's perfume, which one's do you think smell sweet?

I liked the smell of Flowerbomb since I can smell it easily. But I want to know other perfume that is also similar to that smell and heavy since Flowerbomb was a heavy smell to me. Any suggestions?
