I know there are a few of us on BT that are fragrance addicts, so I thought it would be nice to have a dedicated place where we can share our thoughts. This is not to take away from the lovely What Are You Wearing Today, Fragrance Edition thread, but more a place to post longer reviews, chat about new brands or releases, and just shoot the breeze on anything good and smelly For me, I recently acquired 2 new decants that I've been anxiously awaiting. Ever since Lachaton mentioned that MMM was releasing a new scent called By The Fireplace I've been itching to get my hands on it. My decant arrived yesterday, so I'm looking forward to marinating in it this weekend. Secondly, I recently picked up a tiny sample of Shiseido Nombre Noir. Apparently it is one of the most expensive failures in perfume history - made by Serge Lutens for Shiseido back in the 80s. Of course, with a backstory like that, I was dying to get a sniff What's new on your scent radar? Do tell!
I'd love to hear what your favourite fragrances are for the fall! Here's a list of what I've been turning to this season: Papillon's Anubis - intensely smoky and rich oriental with a resinous incense base Etat Libre d'Orange's Fat Electrician - unexpectedly bitter and smoky vetiver that's balanced with a creamy vanilla Nasomatto's Black Afgano - burning rubbery, plasticky oud (? the company doesn't list the notes), challenging at first but the dry down is amazing Tom Ford's Oud Wood - a wearable oud, suitable for all occasions Ex Idolo's 33 - A rich rose-oud with a metallic, citrus edge
I'm one of those gals that are obsessed with fragrances and have about around 50 60 70 80 and still collecting...(if you want to call it that.) So I would like to know what are you wearing today? I'm wearing Obsession...(hahaha kinda fits this thread, doesn't it? )
I'm looking to purchase few scents from this brand..I tried a sample of Treehouse Royal..did not like it. I liked the scent Pinrose. Could you guys recommend scents that are similar to that scent? Fresh/Clean/ Floral but not too much..
Viktor and Rolf's Co-Founders Viktor Horsting & Rolf Snoeren will be in NYC this Friday for a Rogue event! Since the event is full and we can't all get to New York to meet them in person, the designers wanted to connect on BeautyTalk and answer your questions! Post a question for Viktor & Rolf in this thread and we post their answers later this month! Ask anything from how Flowerbomb was created to what inspires their designs.
Hi, I am a HUGE fan of the Laura Mercier fragrance "Crème De Pistache". I noticed it has been out of stock on Sephora's website since last year and have not yet received an email notifying me of it being in stock. Can someone tell me if it's been discontinued or what the story is? I absolutely LOVE this fragrance and will be disappointed If it is no longer produced. Thanks
Hi! Do you know what size perfume corresponds with each of the 15 perfume samples? Since some of them range from 1.0 oz to 1.7 & 3.3 oz within the $119 limit, I'm not sure which applies for all of them. Thanks!
I've been trying to get a fragrance engraved in store (yonge and eglinton), but am getting different answers when I call in (e.g. one SA said any size can be engraved as long as it's not a round bottle. the other said the fragrance is eligible depending on the brand and eligible size for each brand varies). Has anyone gotten a fragrance engraved at sephora before and if so, what was your experience? This is the fragrance I wanted engraved:
This is newest scent in blue bottle. I am super excited to get my hands on this fragrance... At this point, it is only available at neiman Marcus, but it is on back order with no date of arrival!! I have to buy this online due to no store within 200+ miles. Will Sephora be getting this? Or does anyone know where I can locate??? Thank you, denise
I have been wearing this fragrance for close to 10 years, but I just repurchased it and it has zero lasting power. I hate give up on it, but I want a fragrance that lasts. I have the shower gel and body lotion as well as the body spray and perfume, but it layering doesn't seem to help it last. Any suggestions for a dupe or similar fragrance? Also, so as not to limit myself, any favorites that you want to throw out there that are different? I like fresher or musky scents as opposed to overly floral.
Blooming Bouquet smells amazing omg, i so want to buy it. BUT, i looked at there seem to be a stronger version of it out there and id love to get that too. Without taking the risk of buying it automatically i wanted to ask, what is the difference between the original and the absolute one. I know for other scents that do this like bright crystal, that scent smells more floral and musky while **bleep** the absolute version smells like it but more berries. Thanks
With summer coming, I find myself in search of a new summer fragrance. For summer, I love light, fresh scents that remind me of the beach or the ocean. Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Gioia has been a long time favourite, along with Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue. This year, I'm looking at Bobbi Brown's Beach, and Maison Martin Margiela Replica Beach Walk. What are your fave fragrances for summer?
Hello ladies I'm currently writing my Master's thesis about communication, and I'm really looking for pictures of some Fragrance Sample Postcards that I can use as some examples on how to use scent in commercials. I've tried finding pictures online without any luck on getting a good picture of both sides of the postcard(s). Is it possible that any of you have some of these postcards with a sample, and that can take some (good) pictures of it/them? Both front page and the back page ? Thanks in advance. - Maibrit
so....what are your go-to home fragrances ? i have 3, currently, that reign as favorites. two candles and one incense. candles NEST home -- moroccan amber . i really really rate nest candles. their output is incredible, you get your money's worth. and i love this scent. it's warm and cozy, and while it smells like 'home' to you may add a slight air of intrigue and mystery to guests. DIPTYQUE vanille . a vanilla that is not too sweet. deep, warm, creamy. as i said in the hauls thread when i got it last month...i didn't expect to like this just as much as i did. it's true love. incense BLACKBIRD BALLARD incense pyres in AI . they describe it as follows: "Ai contrasts the green leafy plants of our gardens with a sophisticated richness of the marble covered palaces of our dreams." so, a cooling grassy marble. this is another one i didn't expect to love as much as i did, but when i burnt it i was intoxicated. the notes are geranium, rose stem, moss and mint. though i swear i detected a bit of zesty lemon. it's sharp and cooling, not too floral but earthy. adore. how about you guys ? what do you like in your home ?
So I've recently become obsessed with fragrances and I know Sephora doesn't currently sell The Clean Summer Sun fragrance, but I know it did in 2015. I was just wondering if any of you had a chance to smell it/test it out and your thoughts on it? I can't seem to find many reviews on it. I want something that's aquatic/fruity and summery. I also am interested in the Clean Skin fragrance for summer/winter and was wondering what people's thoughts on that one are? Is it really musky or more light/airy? I currently wear black opium for nighttime/evenings, so I'm looking for a more summer/daytime scent. I do enjoy Marc Jacob's Daisy Dream, but it never seems to last one me. I also like Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell. I also enjoy Fresh's Sugar Lychee scent, but again, it doesn't last on my skin. I really wanted to like Armani's Acqua Di Gioia, but it smelled too chemically on my skin and I am trying to stay away from DG Light Blue since I know many people wear it. Let me know your thoughts on those two Clean scents or another other recommendations would be appreciated!
I am allergic to Chanel no 5! I got some as a Xmas gift (the eau de parfum) and it made me break out. Pretty bad. I didn't want to admit it was that even though I hadn't changed anything else so I sprayed one spray in my elbow nook and within 2 hours a minor rash started. I gave it to my mom and it works fine on her. Anyone who wears many different perfumes (like me) find something they are allergic to?
