What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

[ Edited ]

I'm one of those gals that are obsessed with fragrances and have about around 50 60 70 80 and still collecting...(if you want to call it that.) So I would like to know what are you wearing today?

I'm wearing Obsession...(hahaha kinda fits this thread, doesn't it? Smiley Very Happy)

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

@6ixGirl Those are so stunning!  I love that bottle!

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

@meganlisa This Rosebud is to me what Citizen Kane's Charles Kane's was to him Smiley Tongue

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

@6ixGirl Totally get it.  There is something so satisfying about these vintage items.  They're romantic, touching and pure art. If you're a Citizen Kane fan, well, a lovely rosebud...

Perfect.  A total weakness of mine.

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

Kafkaesque blog did a great post recently on vintage shalimar and shared her research on what to look for. It was excellent.

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

@lipstick4soul She's amazing.

I like old things.  Books.  Perfume.  I have a few scarves.  Something so special about them.

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

SJP Stash, great fall/winter scent, especially if you enjoy a slightly masculine edge.

I love woody fragrances. I'm thinking of trying this with my ulta points. How is it in terms of longevity? Can you still smell it after a couple hours?

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

I got a sample of the Juliette Has a Gun in "Not a Perfume" and was kinda shocked at how quickly I fell in love with it.  Right away it reminded me of D&G's Light Blue, but more luxurious and sensual.  I was also shocked to see that it only has one note in it! Faux ambre gris! I remember when I worked in selling fragrance I always hated anything ambre gris but this is different to me... Maybe I've grown, or maybe they really just don't smell alike? I don't know, but I love it and want it Smiley Very Happy

The scent chemical is ambroxan (at least I think that is the proprietary name for the version they use as far as I have read). I love it too Smiley Happy

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

SUPER exciting fragrance week. My decant of Nasomatto Baraonda arrived on Monday and I've been wearing it since. Beautiful boozy, spicy, fruity blend anchored with unique yet not odd notes. The description mentions lignin, and although it is somewhat paper-y, it also has an ever so slight sharpness to it. The full size of this is almost certainly going to happen very soon. (Watches helplessly as money flies out of purse...)

I've been curious about this one! I quite enjoy a couple of their other scents.

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

Diptyque Kimonanthe. It is delicious- perfect for cool weather 😋. From their website:

"Made with exotic, succulent, complex osmanthus blossoms delicately infused with Japanese incense, Kimonanthe is totally unclassifiable, mysterious, and addictive. With notes of camphor, cloves, sandalwood, spices, and leather, the scent on the skin becomes a delicate mist of candied apricot deepening to recall exotic remedies and incense."

That does sound perfect for fall!

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

Interesting. I got a sample when it first came out and I thought it smelled exactly like cherry cough syrup! Lol. Maybe I should give it another try Smiley Wink

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

Haha then it's good i don't know what cherry cough syrup smells like Smiley Wink I got candied apricot at the beginning, then some leather/incense and lots of camphor, then a medley of all the notes.  I wanna wear it and go on a walk among fallen leaves.

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

You obviously have a more sophisticated nose than I do, lol Smiley Wink

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

That is.. very doubtful to say the least 😂

I realized today that maybe I only wear light, fruity and/or clean fragrances because I live in a place that only gets cold a few weeks a year. It was 90 degrees today, and I can't grasp that technically, it's not summer anymore.

So anyway, today's fragrance was Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom and Honey.

Today I'm trying Jeke, a smoky autumnal scent by Slumberhouse. Has anyone here tried anything by this house?

@vegchililover78

Yes, Slumberhouse is still operating Smiley Happy That’s so awesome you were able to snag some scents off etsy. May I ask which ones you like best? They all sound so wonderful.

@lipstick4soul

I like rich, smoky, boozy scents - and I'd say wearing Jeke is like the olfactory equivalent of enjoying an old fashioned (one of my fave cocktails) Smiley Happy It's not in the notes, but I think the clove and tobacco combination gives it a hint of "stewed fruit" that's not quite to my taste but thankfully it's not overly sweet. In fact, I'd say it's a touch sour.

I'll admit the goat fur note in New Sibet was what piqued my interest!! Smiley Tongue I love dirty, animalic frags. Would you say it's quite musky?

***Also, I sincerely apologize to both of you for not replying earlier; I didn’t see your posts until now! Smiley Frustrated***

Re: What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!

@pocketvenus The scents were Eki and Mori. It doesn't look like he makes them anymore. Eki was an oil blend of jasmine and magnolia. Mori from what I remember was warm, the kind of scent that you need to get close to smell. This is a description from Fragrantica:

Mori is a warm aura of nostalgia, where luxurious smell of skin, autumn and animalistic atmosphere intertwines. The perfume is based on notes of Bourbon vanilla, with no top or heart notes.

If he still made Mori that would make me so happy.
