transfer resistant foundation

Hey so I'm looking for a foundation or tinted moisturizer that's light to medium coverage and transfer resistant. I've been using my neutrogena healthy skin foundation for a while, but I'm looking for something with better staying power that won't slide right off my face and onto my clothes. I also run around a lot from work to school and such so I really need something thats sweat proof too. An suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :smileyhappy:

Hi muffinpop!

Any foundation or TM can be transfer resistant if you set it with a finishing powder. Dust it on your face with a big fluffy brush and you should be good to go! It doesn't make it sweat proof, but it definitely makes it transfer resistant. Just this morning I gave my husband a huge hug immediately after applying my makeup. My foundation didn't transfer at all to his black shirt!

For applying powder: I'm a fan of the Sephora Collection Pro Powder Brush #50

Setting powders I like: Laura Mercier's Invisible Loose Setting Powder or Tarte's Smooth Operator Clay Finishing Powder

Well already I have a great foundation in mind for you! Lancome's Teint Idole 24HR is notablely transfer-resistant, and even in very humid areas, I have never experienced any smudging or transferring onto my clothes or onto others. It has a velvety matte finish and STAYS that way. It's especially resilient and can withstand lots of moisture without moving around or looking imperfect. It comes with quite a bit of product and comes with a convenient pump. It should last you a long time and is almost fool proof! It comes with a mediumm but buildable coverage and can be applied in many many ways. Using your hands is fine, or stippling on with either a duo-fibre brush or a flat top works just fine! Sephora's professional airbrush brushes work great as will. This foundation has 20+ shades, so you will have no problem finding one for you. Absolutely recommend, it's one of the most beautiful resilient foundations ever!

Re: transfer resistant foundation

Hi muffinpop.  The best way to ensure a transfer resistant foundation or tinted moisturizer is by using a setting powder.  My personal favorite is the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. This powder applied on top of any foundation will make it transfer resistant and fresh throughout the day.  If you're looking for the perfect foundation to pair with the Laura Mercier setting powder, check out the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation SPF10.  This foundation is not only transfer-proof, but also humidity resistant.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Tiffany
