foundation to cover up acne and scars without looking like cake

need a concealer and liquid foundation that will hide my acne and scars, ive used estee lauder doubler wear that was good but i also never used concealer with it so it could have worked better for me, just it always tended to show my little acne more than it would hide. Help please! i would appreciate it. <3

I have acne scars too and the product that works best for me is the new Smashbox BB cream. It completely covers them and really helps with texture!! My skin has never looked smoother. I used to use moisturizer, primer, concealer (sometimes foundation as concealer), and Bare Minerals foundation, but it doesn't compare AT ALL to the BB cream. I think that the fact that the BB cream is just one step helps a lot, because my face used to look very cakey with all those layers.

Thankyou so much for the advice, some quick questions though... Does the BB cream stick to acne and make it more visible? and my scaring is sorta red and dark will it cover this?

I have noticed that the BB cream isn't the most ideal for covering up acne breakouts (when i get a breakout, I spot cover with concealer), but does wonders for the scars. The way you described your scars sounds very similar to the ones I currently have on my face, and yes, the BB cream is able to cover those for me. I also put a little powder foundation over the BB Cream and the combo covers my scars entirely!

Hope this helps, sorry for the late response :smileyhappy:

I understand what you're going through as I have numerous acne scars. I don't know of any Sephora concealers because I use a concealer from a different retailer. As for liquid foundation, I found that MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Foundation is very good. It has buildable coverage without looking cakey. A tip to reduce cakey-ness is once you've applied your foundation, spray a mixture of water and witch hazel, then let it dry. Instead of using a setting powder, use a setting spray. Holds your make-up twice as long. And I know you said that you want a liquid foundation, but if you use a moderately damp foundation brush with a powder foundation, whether it's pressed or loose, you have practically turned your powder foundation into a liquid/cream application. I do that with the Bare Escentuals powder and it hides my scars very well. I hope some of this helps.
