foundation comparison

What's the best way to compare foundation from brand to brand? I don't want to have to go through all the trial and error. However, is there  way to compare tones from one brand of foundation to the next. For instance, my foundation could be R50 for Sephora Collection, but a similar tone would be named something else for another brand. How do I make the switch?

Hi Kmag, another great way to find your exact shade in all the brands we carry is to try out the Sephora + Pantone Color IQ >

It's a device that scans your skin tone and then finds your shade in hundreds of brands & formulas.  It's a revolutionary new way to shop foundation, and it's only at Sephora!  Smiley Happy -Laura

Hi kmag,

Switching foundations is ALWAYS tricky!  If you have a Sephora near you, I'd suggest making a visit to have a Cast Member help color match you.  You can try the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 175 Cafe, as it is fairly comparable to the R50.  Since the color selection is a bit wider, you might want to try a few of the shades in the 170ish range Smiley Happy
