I have tried a sample of the Light/Medium and I absolutely loved it but I fear it may be too dark for me. I would really like another opinion before I buy a whole bottle and find that I can't even be matched in this particular foundation. Thanks in advance for any advice or help!
"'As painters always start with a smooth, perfectly prepped canvas to ensure a perfect end result, makeup artists need unified, flawless even-textured skin as a the starting point for perfect makeup results every time. ' -Dany’s words. Discover the first step of your complexion routine for a perfect result: STEP1 Skin EQUALIZER . Like a makeup booster, the new primers prepare the skin for a perfect complexion just like a painter prepares his canvas with a basecoat. STEP1 Skin EQUALIZER is an equalizer that can balance out every skin to provide perfect texture and the best possible base to apply foundation. The new generation primer improves the skin texture with a lighting or transparency effect, without changing the carnation; it acts like a brightness modulator. The 6 formulas answer to 6 issues: shining, dehydration, dryness, redness, dilated pores and fine line, lack of radiance. STEP1 Skin EQUALIZER is an entire range which allows tailor-made primers for each woman." Has anyone tried these yet? Looks like there's something for everyone. I recently switched from my old Smashbox primer to Too Faced Primed and Poreless, and I feel like it just emphasizes my pores. (Strange, because it gets such great reviews, but I swear they weren't this big when I used my old stuff.) I'm interested in the Smoothing Primer. I'm sure by the time my No Buy is over, there will be plenty of reviews, but I'm curious now!
I'm always curious if I am applying my make-up the most effective way possible. Right now, I use Smashbox iconic photofinish primer (mostly because I have about 6 free tubes of it from random promos). I forgot to use it yesterday and my makeup by the end of the day looked patchy and cakey. I was surprised that this product actually does make a difference for me! So question for y'all: How long do you wait after applying face primer before putting on your foundation? I do it almost immediately and I am not sure if that is right or wrong
I need a recommendation for concealors. I am looking for one for really dark circles under the eyes. I'm 44. so I need something that conceals and/or brightens fully but will not settle in fine lines or get caked in begginings of creppey under eye area. I also need a great concealor for dark spots. i am fair skinned, with dry skin and blue undertones. thank you!
Hello all! Recently I purchased the Kat Von D lock it foundation in shade light 42. I was so joyed to see, or I should say,I was so joyed at the lack of seeing a noticeable difference between my face's skin tone and my neck! Finally I had found a product that matched my pale skin! Now let me tell you, I am new to higher end make up, skin care, and liquid foundation. But I believe I have dry skin to combo skin. I've been washing my face rdaily with a mild cleanser, moisturizing, priming with the kat von d primer, exfoliating 2-3 a week with a damp towel, and making sure not to apply too much of the foundation on my face. (one pump, with a few extra dabs to red areas all while using a damp bb.) But for some reason, it still looks off. I've seen plenty and plenty of pictures of flawless complexions using this product, but mind doesn't compare. I've tried no primer underneath, I've tried primer underneath with foundation on top, I've tried primer underneath, foundation then powder, I've tried primer underneath, then mixing primer with the foundation. I really want to like it, but I'm wondering if I should try MUFE velvet foundation instead? I want a full coverage (Scarring and LOTS of red) matte, pale foundation, and bonus points for being long wearing! Please some opinions and advice! Below is a picture of today of the Lock it foundation (and my attempt at learning how to eyeshadow.) mixed with the kat von d primer.
Hello. My name is Alina and I have decent skin but problems with sensitivity when it comes to products that could cause me to break out. I have medium to fair skin and having pimples isnt exactly the easiest to cover when its winter or when I'm pale. Is there anything that you would recommend?
Hello! I currently wear Make up For ever Duo mat in 202 - I love the mattifying effect but every time I need to purchase a new compact, my shade is out of stock. Are there any other comparable brands/ shades to MUFE 202? Thank you!
My mineral makeup is getting too dry for me now. What would you recommend for semi dry aging skin, dark age spots, under eye circles, and cool undertones. Others I have tried felt like my skin could not breathe. But I need full coverage. Help! Would Dior Star be good? What shade? Any other suggestions?
Im kinda excited about this. Out now on nars, and will be available at sephora Feb 1, $48 comes with a pump I hope to find a shade in this, gobi in the original sheer glow was too light and i think the next shade up was a touch dark "This new formula creates instant polished perfection with full coverage in a single, weightless drop. Hi! I am looking for a holy grail foundation for those of us with combination skin! I am not too oily on a daily basis but am far from being bone dry either. I am looking for a drug store one that is full coverage and would fit me everyday for school, work, athletic events, etc. Any suggestions?
I need some expertise from all you beautiful people!! I am getting married in 34 days, omg the count is on. I still don't know what I'm doing for my wedding makeup. I have combination skin. I'm currently in Canada where is cold an snowy, but will be getting married in St. Thomas, USVI. I usually just moisturize with Origins Energy-Boosting moisturizer, followed by Stilla one step correct, and Bareminerals original foundation (this I'm starting not to like as i find it applies quite cakey). Or on days where my skin doesn't have many imperfections I only wear tarte BB tinted 12-hour primer with SPF 30. I'm wanting some ideas so that my pictures look flawless and beautiful, especially in the sun since we are getting married on the beach! Any tips or suggestions you have would be amazing, Thanks
My mom and I keep seeing commercials for it pop up and both of us have gotten really interested in it. The downside is that they seem to be really expensive so buying a set out of the blue wouldn't be convenient without doing some research. Has anyone tried an airbrush kit? Were the results better than normal foundation? Is there a good brand to try? Is it worth the investment? A lot of commercials show the models looking significantly younger, does it really make you look more youthful?
I have a mini bottle of Josie Maran cleansing oil that I've been using to remove my makeup, but I'm going to run out really soon. I'm not a huge fan of it because it did not remove makeup very well, but I loved how natural the ingredients were. I'm on the hunt for a new product to use, so does anyone have any recommendations for a natural face makeup remover? I'm open to any product as long as it is natural and removes makeup effortlessly (with the Josie Maran one I had to really tug and drag on my skin to make it work, which I don't think is very good for the skin). Thanks!
I really like natural makeup look, it tried several ways to achieve these look , but end up more dramatic look. Can you some help me to get this look? My hair is black and brown eyes. Use less eyeshadow would be nice. Can you also recommend name brands and colors too?
Despite the Color IQ, which has helped tremendously, I (and many others) still find it slightly difficult to really get a good color selection sometimes. The Color IQ probably doesn't take into account the fact that some of us are in between foundation shades nor the fact that foundations simply oxidize sometimes. I thought I'd make a list of foundations and powders that I have used and sampled that have matched me fairly well. I'll continue to update this list alphabetically if you, BTers, who have the same skin tone as I do come up with more shades from other lines, because I can only try and use so many foundations (and some brands are just difficult to access.) Hey everyone! So I'm moving to a state with a completely different climate than the one I currently live in. Right now, my skin is a bit oily with some dryness to it due to some acne medication. Next month, I'll be moving to a state with a MUCH warmer and humid climate so I'm looking for a new foundation! I currently use Revlon's 24 hour one, but I'm wanting to switch to something that doesn't feel so heavy! I'm thinking of maybe the Bare Minerals selections. Any suggestions?
I'm looking for a foundation similar to HourglassImmaculate Liquid Powder Foundation. I received this foundation as a sample and loved how it wore on my face. However I'm not too crazy about spending $55 on foundation. Has anyone tried anything similar to the Hourglass foundation for a lower price?
I'm just wondering if there's a chance this will come back into stock or if it's never going to be available again. I feel as though it might not be available again because there is no option to "email me when it becomes available again." What do you think?
I saw this on YouTube and it really did work. It's kind of weird though. Using loose powder before applying your liquid foundation. What you do is put on your moisturizer and.or primer as usual then you powder your face with loose powder, not pressed powder in a compact. It can be loose powder such as Nars Loose Setting Powder or even one that has color to it like Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Powder which is what I use. So you powder your face then apply your liquid foundation or BB cream. The powder gives the liquid something to stick to and holds your skin care in place underneath the foundation. I found that I use less foundation this way also. After the foundation you only need to powder again in you T zone. My foundation stays in place and doesn't slip and slide. Even not coming off so easily on shirts. I love this hack, it may not work for everyone but it's worth a try. Good luck!
I am trying to find out how I may attain the "milky white complexion that many women sport. Is there a cream that I can use to get that complexion. I have heard the term BB cream being mentionned, so I went out to purchase it and it didn't work at all. In addition, apparently many of these women rub on their body too.
My color IQ number is 2R03. I am looking for a tinted moisturizer. I am most interested in Smashbox, Tarte, Too Faced, or Urban Decay. Can anyone tell me what shade I would be in any of these?? Thanks so much!!!!
Hey ladies! I'm stuck in the hunt for BB creams! I have a neutral skin tone, and i feel like every BB cream i find is either too pink toned, or too orange! I LOOOVE the smashbox photoready BB cream! The light/neutral shade is perfect for me, but the price! Yikes! I am a shade N2 in Estee Lauder double wear, if that helps. Does anyone know of a BB cream that has a good, not so pricey, light/neutral shade??? Thanks everyone!
