Warm, Cool or Neutral Undertones??

How do I know if i have a warm, cool, or neutral undertone on my face? I used the wrist method and my veins are mostly blue but with a hint of green. I have dark blue eyes and normally rosy cheeks. I also have light brown/dark blond hair with natural blond highlights. People say that the colors you look best in can also say something about your skin tone. But I look okay in most colors. Any help?

Skin undertones are the colors that lie beneath the skin.  Undertones are the colors that are cast like a shadow beneath your skin color.  The shadow has a distinct color which never changes.  While the tone of your skin color can change very easily your undertone never changes.

Consider how your skin looks while you are in the sunlight. Do you appear golden or yellowish?  Perhaps you notice green or bronze undertones (olive skin).  You have warm undertones in your skin if you fall into these categories. If however, your skin appears pink or rosy, red or has beige or brown undertones, your skin is cool.

If you are still not sure, you can stand in natural light and hold something with silver or gray undertones in your hand.  Check to see whether that color adds or detracts to your skin.  Then do the same with a gold colored object.  If your skin looks more vibrant next to a gold colored object, you have warm undertones.  If it looks best with silver or gray, you are a cool person.  Most people are warm toned, not cool toned.  If you are still not certain stop buy your local Sephora or department store cosmetic counter and have a sales representative help you decide.

There's various methods, but I'll list a few simple ones:

1. Do you look better in silver or gold?

Silver - cool

Gold - warm

If you look good in both, you're neutral. If there's no definite difference, but you lean slightly towards one, then that's the undertone you also lean towards.

2. Do you look better in pure white or off white (slightly peachy/yellow-ish white)?

Pure white - cool

Off-white - warm

3. Wrist method (which you've already gone through)

From what you're saying, it seems that you're either neutral, cool, or leaning slightly towards cool.

My veins are the same as yours. It's also a little more difficult to tell with veins, so I would suggest trying the other methods to help. I know that I most definitely look better in gold, so I know I lean towards warm.

I hope this helps! Smiley Wink
