MUFE causing breakouts?
I have been using ProActive to help with my breakouts, and it has done its job! I just recently switched makeup from Bare Minerals to MUFE. I wanted more coverage in my makeup and makeup that would last all day. Just recently, I have started getting breakouts around my mouth and chin. I am good at keeping brushes clean, cleaning my face, not a bad diet, and I workout a lot! This just recently happened and I am worried it is the MUFE! The girl at Sephora told me it wouldn't cause breakouts. I am very disappointed and thinking about trying something new if it weren't for the price of throwing this half full bottle away!
You can always return the MUFE foundation to Sephora- tell them that it is causing your skin to react badly.
How to tell if the MUFE foundation is causing your breakouts- Make sure you are using the same skincare routine as before the breakouts started. Same cleanser, treatments, SPF, same frequency of using products, etc. You want to let your skin settle down so you get a good test. Go back to using the Bare Minerals products since you know your skin reacts favorably to them. When everything is nice and calm, try to use the MUFE again. If you get breakouts again, then you know that's what's causing it. Even though MUFE has a good reputation, occasionally some people's skin does react unfavorably.
If you find the MUFE is causing the problem, you could try using Clinique Acne Solutions makeup. Get a sample first so you can make sure that your skin isn't going to react poorly. A SA at Sephora will be happy to make you up a little container that you can take home and try.
Hope this helps!
I use BE makeup and decided it was drying my skin because when I put it on my skin became flaky. So I got a sample of MUFE HD foundation and today is my second day using it. When I took it off last night I had a small pimple on my chin, but I sampled dr. brandt anti aging moisturizer and it made me break out, so I don't know if the little pimple i got is a late result of it or if its from the MUFE, but I hope not because I really like it. Everyone's skin is different and even though lots of people swear by product and say they don't break out doesn't mean you will. I've learned that the hard way. But I would suggest you stop using it and continue with your regular routine then in a few weeks try it again. I break out before my period so that could be a reason too. Good luck!
This sounds like the EXACT same situation I am in. I recently switched from Bare Minerals to MUFE because the girl at Sephora told me it covers better and would not cause me to break out. Wrong! Literally the only thing that has changed over the past 2 weeks is my foundation...I still use the exact same skin care routine and have been on the same diet. My skin hasn't looked this horrible in a long time. I have been a loyal customer to Sephora for a long time and I'm really not happy that I was mislead by one of their employees. I plan to go to Sephora today to return the MUFE and switch foundations to something that hopefully won't cause breakouts. It's frustrating because Bare Minerals was great for my skin, but not great as a foundation :/
