Laura Mercier foundation powder vs. NARS powder foundation vs. HALO hydrating perfecting powder
(0) Hearts

Hi, I was wondering which powder foundation is the best one? I'm looking for something that gives me a good medium to fullcoverage without making it seem cakey or unatural. I'm sixteen and have combination skin. I don't want anything that would be bad for my skin either. If you know of any others that my work, other than these three, please tell me. Thanks!

Heyy aleddv!

I use Smashbox Halo over my tinted moisturizer for light to medium coverage (combined), so I'm not sure if Halo is right for you. I have comination skin and I am fifteen, and this works well for me combined with a tinted moisturizer. It isn't cakey at all and looks perfectly natural. It is a loose powder.

Are you sure you need medium to full coverage? That's normally for people with wrinkles. People our age with acne or pores or whatever you want to cover can normally get away with using concealer and a light coverage foundation. Concealing spots instead of your whole face looks way more natural.

I am unfamiliar with the other powders, but if you want medium to full coverage, I'm not sure powder is the right formula. Liquid offers way more coverage, and can be just as mattifying as powder using a translucent setting powder like Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder with PM20 ($28).

Hope this helps!

Hey there! Out of all the three, I recommend Laura mercier Foundation Powder. It is honestly the best powder I have ever tried. At first I was reluctant to try it but it feels like silk all over your face. I feel it does give coverage since it would tone down all my redness. You have combination skin so I believe this powder would be great for you! It goes on so smoothly and looks so natural. No one ever knew that I was wearing powder. Don't forget the foundation primer (:
