Combination Skin Looking to Try a New Foundation...Suggestions?
[ Edited ]

Have used both BareMinerals and a Lancome liquid foundation in the past, but found both of them to just "okay." I have pretty fair, combination skin. I'm looking for something that will last longer and provide good coverage. I have had freckles all my life and I don't want to completely cover them, just give them a more subtle appearance. I'd love some suggestions! Thanks so much!

Hi Nataliexx. I love Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation for combination skin.  It's a medium buildable coverage and gives a smooth flawless finish.  It also comes in fair shades, so it is likely you will get a good match.

Hi there,

Givenchy's Photoperfexion Fluid Foundation is absolutely fantastic. It has exceptional coverage, yet works with the natural texture of the skin. It isn't heavy and doesn't function as a mask. It has SPF 20, which is beneficial since it helps protect your skin from environmental free radical damage. I find the staying power to be brilliant as well. For reference, it lasts long than Lancome's Teint Miracle Foundation and Makeup Forever's HD foundation. Lancome has reformulated their Teint Miracle into a longwearing formula now, so you might want to look into that as well. It is pricey, but well worth the splurge in my opinion. You can work with different textures, meaning you can sheer this down to wear out to run errands or build it up for a dinner date perhaps. Fully functional product.

Take Care,

Jenna

Hi Nataliexx - my complexion sound very similar to yours.  I recently discovered BB Creams, and found it was everything I needed.  It provides coverage without covering up my freckles (thus making them look weird), and has a built in primer, spf and moisturizer.  I am pretty fair also, so I found BB Creams work great for me - they don't for all skin tones, because most of the colors are very light.  After quite a bit of research, I settled on Dr. Jart.  They make two types, the Water Fuse and Premium.  The Premium has pink undertones - I have those naturally, and didn't want to enhance that, so I went with the Water Fuse.

I have been super happy with the outcome.  It really simplifies my beauty routine, and the look is dewy and natural.  Depending on the day, I dust with Mineral Veil or loose powder, to help it stay a little longer in the humidity, but it stays fine without it for me.  I use it with a stippling brush.  I swirl for coverage and then stipple for a flawless look.  It really is amazing.

Good luck!
