Can someone please reccomend a setting powder to use under my eyes and set my concealer? If I don't use powder my concealer creases and does not last, if I do use a powder it tends to make my skin look dry and show all of my fine lines. At 38 I want to 10 years younger not 15 older. Help!
I've been wearing Clinique Perfectly Real Compact Makeup in shade 134 for years and years but Sephora doesn't sell it anymore. It has been my go-to for as long as I can remember, but I guess I'll have to find a replacement! Does anyone have any suggestions on a similar product from another brand?
Im trying to find the right foundation shade for myself in the Kat Von D Lock-It foundation but can't seem to know which shade I am. I usually wear the Sephora Collection 10 HR Profection foundation in Clair light 20. Can anyone help? Thanks!
I am starting this discussion because after writing a 3 star review of the new Champagne highlighter and blush palette by Jaclyn Hill and Becca, my review was deleted. I've been going through all of the reviews and it seems like Sephora is deleting any reviews that are less than 4 stars. And I don't mean the negative ones that people were posting even before the palette had been shipped. I mean ones AFTER the palette shipped and people had actually started to receive them. I just gave my honest opinion of the palette (no unnecessary negativity or "hating") and it was deleted. That is so shady to me. Sephora is clearly trying to keep all of the "OMG THIS IS AMAZING!" reviews to boost sales on the official release date. I thought the point of the review section was to give your honest opinion of a product, good or bad. Am I wrong? And I was a little wary to post this because I was afraid Jaclyn's minions would come after me and say I was just being a hater. But I'm not. I love Jaclyn and Champagne Pop is one of my favorite highlighters. I've been subscribed to her YouTube channel for years and I watch her videos on a regular basis. I just wanted to give my honest opinion of the palette. *UPDATE* I think it's important to continue to be completely honest here so I wanted to give an update. I just checked the reviews again and my original 3 star review magically reappeared. Maybe someone saw this post and put it back up? I still stand by what I said about it being deleted though. I know what I saw and my review was definitely gone. I am very familiar with the Sephora website so I really don't feel like this was an error on my part. I suppose it could have just been some technical glitch but it still seems fishy to me considering other people have said they've experienced having negative reviews deleted as well. *ANOTHER UPDATE* Welp, my review is gone again. I see some new reviews from other users that are between 2 and 3 stars so I'm interested to see if those will disappear as well.
A newbie here...I need a primer that is not too shiny. I'm just applying some concealer and contour my face a bit that is all. So I need something that looks pretty natural and is not too "heavy" on my face. Any ideas what I could use?
I need help finding a foundation..I have weird skin tone and have tried on several ...nothing has worked...I have fair neutral undertone, dry skin, medium to full coverage, would like more of a luminous or natural finish...please help! In dire need:-)
Hi beauties!! I'm looking for a powder to set my under eyes. I am currently using the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. I've used a few others but each powder I have makes my concealer powdery. Or it changes the color of my concealer and makes it orange and gives it a weird bumpy texture. So want a powder or a way to set my under eye concealer that isn't going to change the color or texture of the concealer. I've done the "baking" with my beauty blender and I've used powder brushes and fan brushes to apply powder but nothing is really working. Any advice is much appreciated!!
Hi all, I had an appt at Sephora last week for a 45 min makeover. I mainly wanted them to assess my primers and MANY (expensive) foundations & tell me which went together & were my shades still ok. Well, that didn't happen. Here are the primers I have: Hourglass Veil Mineral & Smashbox Iconic (original). Foundations: Givenchy Teint Couture Blurring Foundation Balm, Makeup Forever HD (old formulation), Makeup Forever Mat Velvet +, and Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation (which I used last summer & really liked). I've read that the primer is supposed to go w skin type (e.g., silicone based with oily skin) AND that primer is supposed to go with foundation (e.g., silicone-based with like). I can't figure out what to wear with what & I am going crazy! Thanks!!
is there a foundation that will even out my skin but still let my freckles show through? Right now I have a bb cream and it hides them which makes me look pasty and pale. I love my freckles but not the unevenness to my skin. Any suggestions?
Hi There...I need a foundation for acne prone skin that will not break me out...I would like the foundation to be medium to buildable coverage...I have dry to normal skin type and would like a liquid foundation and a setting powder for acne prone skin. The setting powder...I would like to have add a bit of coverage and color to my skin....thanks for your help!!
I am a 32yr old, red headed woman. I have VERY fair skin. VERY pale. I have just an awful time finding make up pale enough for me. I have tried just about everything that comes in a shake paler than ivory. Kat Von D, MUF, Bobby Brown, etc. Nothing really matches. I liked the MUF lightest shade of their HD make up, but it slid right off my face. It would never dry. It had the worst transfer ever. UD wasn't pale enough, but it was an ok foundation. Revlon Color Stay stayed very well, but it was way too dark. MaryKay Timewise is like paint and won't budge, but it breaks me out and isn't light enough. Most other brands like Estee Lauder, Clinique, Dior, Nars, do not have a shade light enough for me. Right now I am using the lightest shade of Bobby Brown and just dealing with the color difference. It goes on lovely, but like the MUF, it will not set. I have used water and silicone based primers, primer waters, 3 different setting sprays, powders, and nothing at all. It just wipes away and my nose kind of bubbles up in the pores. I have no idea what to do. My nose is very slick. It is just a smooth piece of shiny skin. However, it is even wiping off of the rest of my face. What do I need to do to get this foundation to stick to my face? I bought the concealer to go with my Bobby Brown foundation as well. It sticks even less. I feel awful. I have already exchanged my UD foundation for this Bobby Brown and a Pore filler for a different based pore filler thinking that was the problem. I am going to get black listed if I return another product.
OILY SKIN! ugh, so i recently started using the 24 lancome matte foundation and im in love! however, i still get oily and i wanted a good recommendation for a pressed powder that will keep my skin matte throughout the day. also, whats the best way to prevent "smile lines"??
I'm currently on the hunt for a new bronzer/contour. I know, I know you're not supposed to technically use a bronzer as a contour and vice versa, but I've narrowed my search down and was wondering if any of these work for both? I don't hard core contour, just lightly on my check bones, hairline and sometimes a touch on the side of my nose/jawline. Nothing that actually is dark enough to make a contoured look, which is why I would rather have a two in one product that works mostly as bronzer! Here are the ones I'm most interested in: 1. Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze 03 2. Too Faced Soleil Bronzer in Chocolate 3. Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed (is it any good?) 4. Smashbox Bronze Lights in Warm Matte Let me know your thoughts! I'm staying away from Hoola because I've read it can be a little muddy and I think it's too "grey" for my skin tone to act as a bronzer as well as to help lightly contour
I'm looking for a summer foundation with light/medium coverage. My Kat Von D tattoo foundation is too heavy for summer. I've tried MUFE ultra hd foundation and I hated the consistency. I'm thinking about Este Lauder double wear or UD naked skin but I wanted some other inputs.
Hi! I wear Tahoe in Nars All Day Luminous foundation and wanted to try out the Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick but I wasn't sure what color would be the closest match. I'm a 3y10 in ColorIQ, if that helps.
Hi BTers, So I am trying to find the best suitable foundation for my skin. I've tried going to Sephora in store, but I always walk out in disappointment. My skin is combination (forehead on the oily side, and chin and cheeks on the extremely dry side to the point of flaking off and cracking). For my skin care routine: I use AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, Fresh Soy Cleanser, Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream, and Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil and the GlamGlow blue moisturizing mask twice a week. I also have Rosacea which is controlled by a prescribed topical cream. I don't know what foundation I could use because I've tried MUFE, Too Faced, Kat Von D, Marc Jacobs, Tarte and Urban Decay. Most of these foundations start to go apart or it intensifies my flaking. I use for primer either as Too Faced Hangover Primer or the MUFE Hydrating and Nourishing primer. I use either a beauty blender or a foundation brush. If anyone can help with either techniques or products, I will be extremely appreciative!
I'm trying to get the Kat Von D lock it foundation, and this is my first nice expensive foundation so i don't know how to pick my color. I am very white, so I know I need to get a light foundation but I'm not sure about the yellow and pink undertones?
I have skin that looks kind of rough and really textured because I have a ton of tiny little bumps that I assumer are little pimples. They all cluster together and make my skin look really rough.. I also tend to pick at my face (I know, I know. Big no no. Most of the time I do it without noticing. Bad habit to break from my younger days) so I have dry patches because of scabs and acne scars. I'm looking for a primer and foundation pairing that might help mask this. Any suggestions? I've tried Kat Von D's foundation and it clung to the drier scars/scabs too much for my liking.
