I've always used bare minerals for foundation but i've wanted to try using a liquid foundation. But everytime i try to use it it shows all my dead skin and doesn't look smooth. Help? Any suggestions?

NARS sheer matte syracuse discontinued? New brand suggestions?
I haven't been able to find it anywhere, so assuming it's discontinued. I've been wearing it for years, so any suggestion on a similar brand/color?    My skin is oily so I prefer matte, the syracuse color is perfect in the summer and I mix it with Smashbox BB creme in light in the winter. I have dark brunette/brown eyes.   Thanks!

If you can't use a silicone based foundation with a water based primer or vise visa, why are they made with those both ingredients?

Over 50 foundation
I'm 55, with nice skin and completion. I wear a CPAP machine at night and it takes much longer for skin to rebound from impressions from the mask. I'm looking for a foundation that smooths my skin, promotes elasticity. What cosmetic line do you recommend?

Winter foundation for combination skin?
My skin is normally very oily, but in these frigid winter months the T-Zone of my face (under eyes, cheeks, nose, chin, between brows) have been super dry and flaky.. but yet oily at the same time. These areas have not been loving any of my foundations (Estee Lauder Doubler Wear, Makeup Forever Matte Velvet). Within 5 minutes of putting them on, the foundation in these areas looks blotchy and speckled and cracked and gross. I have been moisturizing religiously and gently exfoliating with a wash cloth. I make sure to wait at least 10 minutes after moisturizing to put on my primer (that I ALWAYS makes sure has the same base as my foundation whether that be silicone, oil, or water based). I use my beauty blender to apply the foundation to make sure there is no microexfoliation. So, PLEASE, someone help me out here. Which foundation, or formula of foundation, would be my best best for actually staying on my face???! Despite the dryness on my cheeks, I still have large pores and my skin gets oily somewhat quickly (even the dry areas have a nice coating of grease by the end of the day) Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a blush that will give my light skin an overall flushed look.
I'm searching for something that will make me appear as if I've been out in the snow for awhile or in the heat. Something that will give me a natural, rosy look. I should also mention that I have oily/acne-prone skin, so something natural and non-greasy would be preferred. Also, NO SPARKLES OR SHIMMER.

Luminous Product for Pale Skin
I love a luminous look, but I feel like because I'm pale (really pale) nothing is enough of a contrast to actually make my skin look luminous.  Anyone have any suggestions of foundations, powder, or any other product that would achieve this look?  For reference, I have tried and do not care for the following as it just seems to not show up on my skin: Benfit Watt's Up, Nars Albatross, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, Bare Minerals Illuminating Mineral Veil.  I'd like an all over glow, so perhaps a luminizing foundation (eyeing the Nars one), but am also interested in any finishing powders or highlighting creams/sticks to apply to my cheekbones.

Anastasia Contour Kit
The kit seems really nice, and not too bad of a price for 6 shades. But I have light skin (pink undertones) and I've never bought any of the Anastasia products before (although Ive heard good stuff), so I am not sure if it is worth it or to go with something else? Thanks.

Foundation primer to replace Hourglass?
I used up all of my Hourglass primer bottle and, although I enjoyed it, didn't feel that the value sized bottle lasted long to justify spending $50 on the full-size. Does anyone have any recommendations to replace this primer? I'm completely out, and I'm actually running to Sephora tonight to get more. Thanks, loves!

Foundation??
I'm in the search of a full/medium coverage foundation! I've been looking into Estée Lauder double wear or kat von d lock it foundation So I use to be super super dry, but here lately I think some of the medication that I'm on has made me combo, because I'm definitely not oily but still not completely dry, my main questions to those of you that have either of those foundations are: Do they oxidize? Are either of them drying? Best way to apply them? Im also up for any other recommendations that you may have! thanks so much!!

Q. Is There A Difference?
Hello I am starting to do my makeup more often but I have to get more supplies I didn't start thinking about different makeup products that could be used until now I have heard about primers and pore minimizers I was wondering.. Is a primer and a pore minimizer the same thing or should I look at them as two  different products?

JENDREA / FRESH FACE / answered
A. A primer and pore minimizer are two different product, as a primer is used as a base for makeup and a pore minimizer... well self-explanatory.  see post
Foundation recommendations?
Hey all,    I'm currently used KVD Lock It Powder Foundation in Light 49.   I absolutely love it, however ive had it for less then a month and im already seeing the bottom in the center and well i dont really want to be buying one every month and a bit.  I will keep buying but I was wondering what else people would recommend thats comfy to wear and not too cakey.   as well i do have slightly oily skin, mainly my forhead and nose while cheeks seem to be dry with this winter.    Would love everyone's input on what they use and what they love

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, Dupe
Becca On the left, Josie Maran on the right (thumb side) Just discovered a great dupe for the Opal shade....I could barely justify buying the small Becca because for 19$ you only get .68 Fl Oz. I really wanted it to mix in with a foundation and because of that i knew i would go through quite a bit of product, so then it was even harder to justify! But i went and got it anyways and it really is great like everyone says. BUT i also got this Josie Maran whipped Argan Oil Illuminizing body butter in golden opal radiance, so for the small size of that you get 2 Fl. Oz., more than double the amount for 16$ on Amazon. The colors look a little different before blending but on the skin the effect is almost identical. The Josie Maran has argan oil and all of her products are cruelty free, i'm not sure of any skin benefits in the Becca or if those products are cruelty free?

How to choose the right foundation color

best foundation for dry flaky skin?
I have been bouncing between 2 foundations, covergirl 3 in 1 and urban decay naked foundation. both of these foundations look good from a distance on my skin but in my magnified mirror, my skin looks awful. it is flaky, and it all settles in my lines, it looks like the foundation is just sitting on my skin all smeared, instead of looking smooth. I have used multiple tools to apply foundation as well, usually using a G6 brush from Morphe (flat top.) I am heading to the mall today and want to pick up a new foundation to try. I was thinking about trying MAC Face and Body foundation, seeing as it is mostly made of water which seems like it would be beneficial for my dry flaky skin. Does anybody have any other recommendations, or thoughts on the MAC foundation?

Give me the skinny on Bronzers....
I have never used a bronzer. I do not even own one. When I had my complimentary makeover at Sephora, the MUA used a Bobbi Brown bronzer, but that is not generally a brand I reach for.    Who makes the best bronzers? Too Faced looks promising.
