Hi all! Can you recommend me a makeup remover that removes everything and leaves nothing behind? I use the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, along with lipstick and waterproof eyeliner, and the other day, I rubbed makeup remover all over my face, rinsed it off, and just testing, swiped at my face with toner on a tissue. Nooo, there was still foundation on my face! I do double-cleanse, so I don't think I've been going to sleep with makeup on my face, but I still feel icky about it. In a perfect world, I'd like to remove everything without leaving a greasy feeling on my face. I currently use the Laneige Lip Eye Remover and the Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover, and they've both left makeup on my face with a greasy feeling.
Hi! I would like a recomendation to choose a foundation for my wedding day! It will be taking place in the summer, so I need something to stick on my face but still look like myself. I have combination skin, and a little bit of redness. And im pretty sure it will be hot that day, so I dont want to be oily-shiny. Hope you can help me!! I was thinking about studio skin 15 hour wear foundation, but im not pretty sure! I linked a photo of myself so you can have an idea, I have make up on, and the other one with the pink t-shirt with no makeup at all HEEEELP!
I'm fair, (shade Alabaster in Clinique), and am looking for a foundation that does NOT get darker once applied. I've tried Clinique, MUFE, Smashbox, and Laura Mercier. All of them look beautiful when first applied, but give it some time and holy darkness Batman! Can anyone suggest a foundation that actually stays true to it's color??
This foundation was recommended to me so I'd like to try it. My skin is fair with pink undertones. I don't normally wear foundation but would like to buy some for special occasions. On a day to day basis I've been wearing Stila's color correcting creme in light. It's hard to pick a foundation color online, and I thought Mont Blanc would be the right one for me. This has been out of stock for a while, so instead I bought Urban Decay's Naked Skin Ultra Definition liquid makeup. I liked how it felt, but the 3.5 color I chose was too dark for me, making my face a totally different color than my neck. I went to Sephora today (I normally shop online) and returned that. I am concerned that the .5 color would be too light. The rep at Sephora didn't seem well versed in this Nars foundation and recommended that I try Gobi, which according to the description is light with yellow undertones. She recommended against Mont Blanc (which they didn't have anyway, not even as a sample on the floor) because I "already have pink undertones and that would make me too pink." They were out of Gobi too, but she gave me a sample to try at home. A few questions. Was her advice about color correct? If not, any suggestions on a color to try? I will try the sample soon and see how it wears, of course, but have my doubts. Maybe I don't understand how these undertones work? Also, when I looked at the Nars site, it doesn't even list Mont Blanc as an option any more. I wonder if it's being discontinued?
Hi, all. I've been wearing makeup regularly for the past fourteen months, and started out wearing foundation in 0.5 in Urban Decay. My skin at the time was very fair and very dry. A few months later, it became summer, and I struggled and failed to find a foundation that truly matched. And then I realized that my skin had become oily, which is something I'd never experienced. I got through summer and into the fall, and tried the Color IQ system at Sephora in hopes of finally getting a match. My number (2R06) was far too dark for me, so the cast member brought me MUFE Mat Velvet+ in 120. I wore it, and then realized that some days the foundation was way too light, and other days it was way too dark. So, a few days ago, I went back and did the Color IQ again. I got a wildly different result, 1Y06, and was matched to Lancome's 24 Hour foundation in 220 C Buff. Once it oxidized, it was far too dark. I then tried 110 C Ivorie, and that also seems too dark. I have foundations in a ton of shades, now, and none of which that seem to match my skin. My face seems to switch shades every few days. As of today, 0.5 in UD is too light, 110 C Ivorie in Lancome is too dark, and Dermablend in Natural Beige is too dark. I'm currently wearing Revlon Colorstay in Combo/Oily in Buff, and it seems to match the best, but it's not perfect (slightly too light). Ivory is too pink and too light. My skin is combo/oily, with dry patches around my nose, mouth, and between my eyebrows. My cheeks are very oily. I'm wondering if skin undertones can change as well--I've always been cool-toned, but the foundation that matches the best today used to make me look sallow, and it no longer does. I used to be so pale as to be almost white, although this is no longer the case, for some reason. My issue is that none of my foundations seem to match my neck and chest. I've never really heard of anyone on this board that has constant foundation problems before. And I'm not really sure how to fix this problem, since my skin seems to fluctuate so much. Anyway. Any advice/help?? <3 EDIT: I do wear Smashbox's Primer Light under my makeup. I also have redness and acne, which I why I prefer fuller coverage foundations.
Hi everyone. So I have been trying to find the right way to apply my foundation, Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Foundation. I have a beautyblender, and I have an e.l.f. foundation brush, but what works the best? Should I buy the Tarte foundation brush? Should I use my fingers? Should I buy a stippling brush?
Is this natural for everyone or is it just me? i find that when i wear my glasses, my foundation seems to come right off as well. I obviously don't expect my foundation to stay intact as id applied it but id like to avoid the crease they give. any tips?
ive heard both were very long lasting and don't rub off which is the kind of foundation i am looking for. i would like to know the differences, and which you prefer. ive heard the double wear was a bit thick and id like to go for a more natural looking foundation since summer is just around the corner. thanks!
Okay, I totally forgot that I have this from a set of Stila products I bought. I've never used it. Does anyone else have it? Do you like it? That is biggest "compact" I've ever seen. http://www.sephora.com/set-illuminate-baked-powder -trio-P308004?skuId=1410562
I've been having irregular flares of redness and roughness from irritation, and I know you're supposed to refrain from makeup, but sometimes, you have to look presentable. I need a makeup product that can be my SOS. For the record, I've asked BT many times about skincare (thank you!), and I'm still experimenting. But meanwhile, I just want something to slap on and go. My current HG foundation is the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, but I can be enabled.
I went to Sephora not too long ago and got matched the the sheer glow foundation in mont blanc. I got a sample and loved it! Perfect shade match.. When I went back the store was out, and online is also out. NARS doesn't show the color online and Nordstrom is on major back order for the color. If it is gone.. whats replaced it? Or what is another brand to try? (stays all day, semi-matt/satin finish)
Has anyone tried this? Im on my looongest no buy challenge, and i really dont want to repurchase my beloved benefit porefessional . i have combination skin and most of the ingredients are similiar,do you think this is a good alternative for benefit?
So I know a lot of you ladies wear glasses and I just thought maybe we could share our framed faces and pass along tips for wearing makeup with wearing glasses! I'll go first, I had to really dig through my phone for some pictures of me wearing my frames but here are a couple! *Note: I am incapable of taking a "serious" picture while wearing glasses My makeup tip is to wear a bright lipstick to draw attention away from my giant glasses haha. Not a very good tip, but this thread is to discover new ones! Edit: I actually have two pairs of glasses but these ones need prescription lenses still
I am looking for a comparable alternative to the Nars super orgasm blush. I was thinking possibly too faced or benefit might make one that offered both the shimmer and peachy pink color that the Nars line does. Any advice for my search for a similar product by a different manufacturer? Thank you!
I'm going to post a picture of me without makeup. Because hey, I love makeup, but I'm also working on embracing my face au naturel, too. None of this "I'm not wearing makeup" when you're wearing a tinted moisturizer, brown mascara, and have a slight flush to your cheeks and lips. I'm talking no makeup AT ALL (No, not even clear lip balm). This is me, about 10 minutes out of the shower. Anyone else brave enough?
Because we all know we have those days where we want some reassurance on a look before we leave the house or a second opinion or a lipstick that we've bought/about to buy. So I figured having a thread to ask 'Does this lipstick look good on me?' or 'Is this blush to dark?" would be a good idea. Assuming there's not one already and I've just missed it.
Did I miss them saying it was out? I was playing around on sephora and found the that the naked flushed said it was available in two colors! And here it is So ladies run and go buy it! But please don't out of stock it till Thursday that's when I get paid
I have been using the naked skin foundation, and while it was flawless for the first hour and a half, it rubs off easily when i itch around my nose (t-zone). Right now, I'm trying out the vitalumiere aqua by chanel and i find that the longevity is worse and the foundation rubs off when I'm blotting. any suggestions? is it the powder?
Ive been thinking about trying nars out again after i think i was matched wrong. can anyone provide side by side swatches if you wear HD 117 & UD 2.0? color iq matches me to deauville in matte . I also wear 1.0 in EL double wear light and mufe mat velvet 30
I am looking for a good foundation that won't leave my face looking flaky or oily as I do have medium oily skin. I am a groomer, so I am around water a lot and want something that won't run with water or sweat. What would be a good light weight foundation for me?
Hey guys! So I am about to purchase a Ambient Lighting Powder. In the past I bought Luminous Light, which I liked but didn't quite give me the results I was looking for. I am looking for something that can highlight cheek bones and basically use it as a highlighter for my face. Which powder do you all like the best or would suggest?! Thanks!
