When I use eyeshadow I always use brown neutral colors. Although, one problem I face is that it just looks like a blob of mess. I don't know if it is because the colors are too similar, or if because i use all matte. is it best to mix up the types of eyeshadows like using a matte and a shimmer? i usually avoid shimmer because i don't like to draw too much attention. i like really natural look.
I bought a couple gel shadows, one maybelline and one origins. I asked twitter how to apply them and most people said they use their fingers. this was quite messy, especially for the bright purple maybelline and it went on very uneven and looked like i applied my makeup while drunk. What type of brush do people use?
I use the urban decay Naked eyeshadow palette. I apply my drugstore elf primer before i apply. Although, the eyeshadow doesn't seem to be very pigmented. It starts to fade away only 10 minutes after application. What do you suggest?
Over my lunch break, I went to my sanctuary (local Sephora store) and tried out the two BECCA eye palettes: rouge and nude. I can't decide. I have historically not been confident putting warm tones on my eyes, even though they, in theory, should make my blue eyes pop. Perhaps it is the introvert in me wanting to keep it plain rather than stand out. The below has the rouge palette on looker's left (technically my right eye) and the nude palette on looker's right (technically my left eye). What says the wise BT crowd? Is one palette a clear winner? Who else has had "I can't buy them all, so I must choose", and how did you decide?
I'm looking for a palette that I can just use as a basics palette (nude natural colors) to go with my other palettes. Which palette do you think would be best?: Naked Basics 1, Naked Basics 2, Natural Matte Eye Palette by Too Faced, Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette, or another palette? (I have dark greyish-blue-ish eyes.)
Hi! I would like to start using a fat colored eyeliner. I typically wear a reasonably bare face (just some Smashbox cc and maybe blush) and want to add a touch of edge to my look. What colors would you recommend for someone with blue's eyes and dark blond hair? When I do use shadow, it is usually MAC embark (a very dark brown), so I'd like to try something outside of the brown realm. Thanks!
I'm just about to throw in the towel and go back to eyelash extensions! For the past few months, my lashes have just been horrible. They won't stay curled, even right after curling them. I've used the blow dryer trick on my curler and I even use waterproof mascara. I wipe the excess of the wand and still, my eyelashes come out flat, thin and clumpy. No mascara I have tried has given my pretty looking lashes. The ones I've tried are: - Benefit They're Real! - Maybelle Lash Sensational - Benefit Bad Gal - Maybelline Full 'N Soft (this one is the best so far, my my lashes still go flat and look thin) - Covergirl Lash Blast - Maybelline Colossal Those are just the ones I've tried in the past few months. Any help would be appreciated. I'm going crazy looking at my eyelashes!
Hi, I was hoping to get some options for eye concealers that I can multi-use for the eye lids and under eye area. I am fair to light skin so I was hoping for something that was easily blendable . I was also hoping for something that doesn't crease easily or at all. So I hope that I can get some suggestions for this. Thanks in advanced.
So, I somehow went from a three-drugstore-products-every-day kind of girl to a 3000-point Rouge in the space of about a month. The most embarrassing part is that eyeshadow palettes account for a huge chunk of that spending, but I have next to no clue what to do with them. I guess some part of me felt like I was buying the knowledge along with the colors! Anyone want to help a newbie out? I have the following: Urban Decay Naked 2 and 3 Too Faced Neutral Eye Shadow Collection Buxom custom palette in various neutrals MUFE Artist Shadow in Taupe Platinum and Golden Beige Bare Minerals Ready 8.0 Power Neutrals Obviously I love my neutrals (not super adventurous just yet, plus my workplace prefers a more conservative look), but I don't even know what you'd call my eye color, much less how to make it pop. I also have hooded lids that I don't have a clue how to work with. I'll take all the help I can get -- tips, links to tutorials, anything and everything!
I very much despise my hooded eyes because they always make it so hard to put make up on and make it look good! Please leave tips, tricks, and even tutorials on how to pull off makeup for hooded eyes! BTW, I recently bought the Naked 2 palette if you want to include specific shades that I can use. I would love something that is wearable for school because it is my birthday on Friday. Thanks! x
Does anyone know if/when Sephora will start carrying this palette? I see Ulta says they'll have it in stores starting 9/6 ( http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp? productId=xlsImpprod12961041), and it looks like it's already available on Too Faced's site and Ulta's site. I'm not finding it here, though!
Hi! So I've been using the Laura Mercier tightline shadow for a while now and I like it for the most part, however it is time consuming to buildup and I don't really like that I need to use a brush to get the desired effect, especially because this is for my everyday simple tighten/minimal liner look. Do you have any recommendations for a good liner that is safe and effective for mainly might tight line that is also long wearing?
I fell in love with the Too Faced (pillow talk) eye shadow. It is in their NAKED EYE PALETTE and it's nearly gone! I guess I used it the most. I have been trying to find a duplicate or something similar to this and cannot find it. Anyone have any suggestions? It is a matte finish. Any suggestions are welcomed!
For as long as I've been using makeup, I've never really focused on my brows before and if I do, I use NYX. Sephora has just put out a new sampler set for eyebrow products. There are two sets, one for light/medium and one for medium/dark. Each goes for $40. They contain: Medium/Dark: - 0.085 oz Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel - 0.003 oz Anastasia Beverly Brow Wiz in Dark Brown - 0.1 oz Benefit High Brow Pencil - 0.03 oz Kat Von D Tattoo Brow in Medium Brown - 0.47 oz SEPHORA COLLECTION Compact Mirror - 0.38 oz SEPHORA COLLECTION Tweezers - 0.01 oz Smashbox Cosmetics Brow Tech Gloss Stick in Brunette - Step-by-step tutorial Light/Medium: - 0.085 oz Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel - 0.003 oz Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe - 0.1 oz Benefit High Brow Pencil - 0.03 oz Kat Von D Tattoo Brow in Blonde - 0.47 oz SEPHORA COLLECTION Compact Mirror - 0.38 oz SEPHORA COLLECTION Tweezers - 0.01 oz Smashbox Cosmetics Brow Tech Gloss Stick in Taupe - Step-by-step tutorial I've only tried the clear brow gel and I did not love it in particular... Can someone enable or not enable me (disable doesn't sound good) on this set?
Does anybody know what's going on with the Kat von D chrysalis palette? I noticed it went in the sale and it's almost constantly sold out but now it seems to have disappeared entirely? I still have it in my basket because i wanted to wait until i got paid to do a mass order of stuff but it's not even listed anymore! Please tell me it's not going to be discontinued, i know monarch is the more popular palette but i thought both butterfly palettes were doing really well? Does anyone know if it's gone for good or more likely just going to come back to sephora at full price again?
I really want to try wearing winged liner but I have almond shaped eyes so I can't really make my liner thick and bold because then it'll look like I'm wearing all black eye makeup. I wanted to know which way I should apply liner so that my eyeshadow will show up and not make it look like I'm wearing all black makeup.
Hello! I've been recently looking for something that will fill my brows in easily like Benefit's Gimmie Brow, I've never tried it, but I've been debating between that, the tarte Colored Clay, the Clnique Brow mousse, or the newest Sephora one? I've got pretty thick brows, but I'm looking for a quick filler/something to set it all. Thank you so much!
As some of you may know, a new Diorshow formula will be available soon; it will be sold to VIB and VIB Rouge before it is available to everyone. http://www.sephora.com/diorshow-mascara-P396240?sk uId=1689744 I was lucky enough to be gifted a tube of this new mascara, courtesy of Dior partnering with Sephora. I'm sure I was chosen for this particular gift due to my numerous posts declaring this product as my HG mascara. I was asked to post on BT and write a review after trying it; so, I am here to share my thoughts with you all. Spoiler (Highlight to read) Here is the new box. It arrived rather smashed up but the product itself was perfectly fine. Spoiler (Highlight to read) The top picture shows a comparison between wearing Diorshow's new formula (over Diorshow primer) on the left and my natural eyelashes without any product on the right. The bottom picture shows Diorshow primer and the Diorshow new formula mascara on both lashes. My thoughts: As a big fan of the prior formula, I was very interested to see what changes Dior made. In my opinion, this new formula mascara seems to be a little creamier and shinier than the old formula. It was very easy to apply and it did not clump at all. I didn't even need to run an eyelash comb through it, which is always a plus. I found it to be still as dramatic as ever and the staying power also continues to be excellent. Again, Diorshow is a winner and I am happy to say it will remain my HG mascara.
Hello there, I can easily find dark black eye shadows with silver, blue, and purple glitter but can only really find one with bright red glitter, which is Giorgio Armani's Lust Red. Do you know of any eye shadows that would have a similar effect to Lust Red, but maybe a bit less blue/violet shimmer? Thanks for your help!
I have been to every store in my area and I have been on the email list for Urban Decay Cannonball for the whole summer, is it ever coming back in stock?? If not what is a comparable mascara? I have tried the MUFE Aqua Smoky Extravagant and I did not like it.
The more I use cream eye shadows (either pot or stick) the more I just want to convert all of my eye shadows over. I'm sure this won't happen, but I've been seeing comments about Burberry's new cream shadows and how they're "different" and it's made me wonder how the different brands compare? Who's tried a bunch that can offer any insight or compare any of them to one another? Which you like, which you don't like, what stays, what blends well, what's your preferred application method?
I generally like a very clean natural look for everyday (I've got two little boys and not a lot of time!). As I've gotten older I have really worked hard to get beautiful skin and let my natural face shine. That being said, I would like to look natural, but a little better. I usually wear Dr. Jart+ BB cream in Radiance, the Josie Maran coconut gelee cheek stain in pink escape and a couple coats of Shu Uemura mascara. I like the way that the BB cream has just a hint of shimmer when I hit the right light. I'd like something a bit subtle on my eyes as well (no glitter, not obnoxious shimmer) just to highlight and brighten them. I've got fair skin, medium brown hair and brown eyes. Would prefer something on the warm side. TIA!
