I've been thinking about getting a palette that brightens up my mostly nude eye shadow collection. I found one, however I cannot decide between Urban Decay's Vice 1 or Vice 2! I looked at swatches of each and there are shades that stand out to me in both of the palettes. The shades I'm looking for are mainly copper-ish and shimmery light pinks (Toxic in Vice 2 and Blitz in VIce 1 are in my favor). Please help in deciding!
Sooooofinally jumped on the Z-palette wagon and I'm definitely not regretting it, in part due to the fact I did not shatter a single shadow , I did not like most of the patterns and I found someone on etsy who makes them (PM for the store name) and they are great quality! I depotted: -Smashbox brown eyes -Too Faced Natural at Night & Boudoir Eyes -Naked Two & Three, and Naked Basics -Kat Von Dee Saint & True Love -Mac Nylon & someother one (not a big mac fan) -Sona Kushick brown eyes 10 I feel like I need some more non-naturals in my life now! But it was so easy to pick and choose my eyeshadow today! No searching through so many palettes. So I got a double sided z-palette and then a travel palette that is also double sided. The store I bought from also had two other larger sides but I didn't think I had enough eyeshadows to depot to need ones larger! Let me know your guys opinion and if you have taken to jump over to the z-palettes!
It seems like my YT home page has been inundated with reviews of these $5 Colourpop Super Shock cream eye shadows. They actually look quite lovely, but when I see everyone and their mother doing a review for something they were sent on YT, I tend to take those reviews with a heaping grain of salt. Has anyone actually tried these? The price is appealing at least.
Hey all! I have a dilemma. I've been trying to find the right shade for my eyebrows lately because I feel like the brow products I have now are way too dark for my hair and/or skin tone. For reference, my hair is an extremely dark brown and my brows are very, very dark brown - almost black. My skin tone is around NC30 - NC35, depending on the season. I have Brow Wiz, Dipbrow Pomade and Brow Powder Duo all in Ebony. I feel as if I use them with an extremely light hand, my brows look very bold and I don't really want caterpillars on my face. I've been eyeing Brow Wiz and Dipbrow in Dark Brown but I'm not sure. I want the product to match my hair but I don't want it too light that I can see the brown out in natural lighting. So, does anyone have any suggestions? Please and thank you!!!
My everyday/favorite eye look is to use a pigmented stark white eye shadow all over the lid, but I am finding it hard to do this. I've finally found a white eye shadow that goes on the lid as a pigmented white instead of just as a highlight (MUF snow), but it is really hard to apply. I find that using a eye shadow brush requires me to really drag on my eyelid instead of being able to pat the shadow on (which I prefer to do), and most of the time I have fallout. A lot of brushes also make the color go on as a highlight rather than a pigmented white. Oddly enough I found that using a lip brush from Estee Lauder works the best with applying white eye shadow this way, but I still have to drag the color across the lid. I've also tried other brands of white eye shadow (Urban Decay, Estee Lauder, MAC, etc) and every brand is just as difficult to apply. Anyone know of a way to apply white eye shadow without having to drag the color on, but still allowing the white to remain stark white instead of a high light? Would using a different brush make it easier to apply (specifically a sponge tip applicator)?
Do you guys have any experience with gel eyeliners? My hands are really shaky, there's no way I'll ever be able to use a liquid liner, but most of the pencils I've tried are hard to use. I'm thinking about trying a drugstore gel liner before committing to a pricier one. I'm trying to avoid maybelline as I am allergic to something in their mascara. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!!!
I received my first order from Colourpop today. 1 lippie stix and one eye shadow. I just wanted to see what all the buzz was about and try them for myself. For that price it couldn't hurt, right? I LOVE the lippie. It's similar to the shades that I've been wearing that cost lots more. I got Dahlia and it's a beautiful dark red. I a BRAND NEW to eye shadow. Like completely clueless. But I was intrigued by this shade and decided to give it a try. It's called So Quiche. And it's kind of an olive green that is goldish with pink sparkles. Hard to explain. Colourpop calls it the queen of eye shadows. I just tried it on. AND I LOVE IT! I love the sparkle. I wasn't sure if I wanted sparkly eye shadow, but I LOVE the sparkle. Apparently, I'm into sparkly eye shadow. So bring on the recommendations!!!
Hi my wonderful BT friends! I'm thinking about starting to wear falsies, and I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations for brands and styles? I'm looking for lashes under $20 to start with, and I'm interested in a "natural" fluffy/fluttery look, as well as more dramatic lashes. I'll attach a photo so you can see my eye shape. My eyes aren't deep-set or hooded, but I'm not sure which lashes would be best. TIA!!!
I'm looking at it on ulta and noticed this disclaimer: "Precautions: Slowburn, Savage, Jilted and Urban are not intended for immediate eye area." In the questions section below the reviews, the people at ulta were saying they include an ingredient that is not approved in the US for the immediate eye area. Another question actually specified what they meant by immediate eye area, being the lid, under eye, basically anywhere you would put eyeshadow. Somebody asked why they would put the shades into an eyeshadow palette and they said it's an artistry palette and can be used anywhere you'd like. My question is to all who have this palette: Is there actually a problem using those colors or is it just normal and they're just being really strict with their guidelines?
So I'm on the hunt for the perfect everyday mascara! I'm currently using Too Faced Better Than False Lashes and while I absolutely adore it, I'm finding it a bit too much for everyday use and think it's probably better suited for evening/weekend wear. In the past I've used Benefit's BadGal and They're Real, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl, Lancome's Hypnose Drama and Definicils, Diorshow, and a multitude of drug store mascaras. I got a sample of Bobbi Brown's Smoky Eye Mascara with my last order and so far I'm absolutely loving it, but was hoping ya'll could throw some other suggestions my way. I'd like something that is lengthening with maybe some volumizing powers as well.
I have all the other stuff but i do lack on eye shadow palettes. I am thinking of giving myself a christmas gift and can anyone suggest which one is great for a beginner to try and learn? - Too Faced Chocolate Bar or UD NAKED 2? My skintone is Medium with yellow undertones (3Y09 in sephora color iq) but I do have darkness on the top part of my eyelids. So I am wondering if i could use some eyeshadow to cover them when I go out? http://www.sephora.com/naked-palette-P267200?skuId =1324532 I hav HK Pop up party one and Estee lauder color portfolio 2014. Do they suit my skin tone?
Hi, I hope it is ok to post this here but I have a question about how to spot if something is fake. I am asking because I really want a Guerlain Meteorites shade that was from 2 years ago and one eyeshadow palette I wanted sold out before I could get them and I have seen some on ebay and amazon and I was just wondering if I take a chance what should I look for? (I know buyer beware...but it is for myself and I am wanting the palette and I ran out of my meteorites in the shade I loved for years so if it turns out to be fake then it was my bad luck but I am hoping there are some that are legit....I have googled and looked for any info on signs to look for on the palette but I have not found anything...plus I see that you can get copies from Alibaba already on the palette and I was floored to see how many fake meteorites there were so I am just wanting to make sure they are legit if I can) 1. Guerlain Meteorites....is it true that they are all smooth on the inside of the top of the container? 2. Lorac Mega Pro Palette - Signs to look for? QR codes not working? Alignment off? Are there fakes that are really close to original?
Hello everyone I am really hoping that the BT community will be able to help me find a dupe for NYX Flamingo. I love the shade, but unfortunately it is quite powdery (borderline chalky) which makes it hard to use. I am looking for a dupe, preferably in a form of a single eyeshadow and not a palette. Here are some swatches: I would describe it as a light pinky-mauve with a golden (almost) duochrome. It looks more golden when applied over an eyeshadow base (top picture, right-most swatch), otherwise it's pretty sheer. I've seen people comparing it to MAC Rose pigment, but Flamingo is nowhere near that pink (and I'd rather not bother with pigments tbh). Do you have any other suggestions that I should check out? Drugstore or high end, anything is fair game
Hi loves! So I came home to my parent's house for the holidays and I have a limited makeup collection with me. I am staying for New Years, and I completely forgot my Too Faced Glitter Glue for the MAC pigments that I'm planning on using for my NYE look. I could run to Ulta and use my 20% off coupon and buy another tube of it, but I was wondering if anyone had an suggestions for an alternative product. I'd be willing to try anything out, as long as it costs as much or less than the Glitter Glue ($20). I also have MAC Fix+ in my collection, but unfortunately, I forgot that product as well. Ugh! Any suggestions would be great appreciated! Thanks so so so much! xoxox

There's also the Blush, Contour and Lip Palette for $59.00. It's LE, and a Sephora exclusive! The colors, as listed on Temptalia, are Enrapture, Enthralled, Roman Holiday, and Albatross blushes, Laguna bronzer, and Istria gloss. I love how this palette has two levels!
What is your favorite holiday eyeshadow palette of 2014? So far I've purchased Kat von D star studded palette, HK palette, Vice 3 palette, and Lorac Mega pro. Should I look into anything else? I have the TF Sugar & Spice palette and the UD shadow box sitting in my cart.
Hey Ladies! Alright, so, I am looking for a new eyeshadow palette and want your opinions! I have UD's Naked 2 &3 plus many more single eyeshadows from a wide range of places. I've thought about UD's Naked (the original), but have heard that it's more for people with warm complexions (I am pretty fair skin, cool/neutral tones, with blue/gray eyes, and blond hair), so I'm not sure if I want to go that route. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know that I was anything crazy like UD's Electric palette, but it's not completely out of the question! Thank you for any and all advice!
I've been using one of Clinique's Indian pinkish blush (came as a GWP one time) with the MAC Cranberry but it somehow hardened and doesn't work.. I'm looking for something to pair with the Mac Cranberry eyeshadow because its honestly one of my favorite to wear.. I usually go for a softer yet defined look... so something subtle would be great. I've been wearing Bobbi Brown bone all over the lid, Clinique Indian pink blush lightly on the crease, and Mac cranberry over my eyeliner, extended to soften the harsh lines. any suggestions would be great!
I'm having a hard time deciding between the three palettes. I love the color in Naked3 but I'm afraid it might be too pink for me. I have fair skin with yellow undertones and I'm looking for something more neutral/natural and leaning towards the golden side. Any Naked palette veterans care to share some advice? Thanks! G
Finally some real info on the Nars Dual Intensity palette! A lot of Nars reps were saying it would be out for the Holidays, but since there were no leaks all fall, it was clear this wouldn't be out until the spring. MusingsOfAMuse posted this press release photo (along with the contour platte) on IG & her blog over the weekend. It will be available January 1st on the Nars site, Feb 1st for Department Stores & Sephora for $79 Shades included are: Europa Himalia Ursa Major Subra Andromeda Lysithea Giove Sycorax Plus a wet/dry brush. I'm so glad the two shades I own (Cassiopeia & Phoebe) aren't included, but at the same time they are great shades and should be in the palette. I think I was hoping for a palette that included all the Dual Intensity shades. Oh well... I know what I'll be buying January 1st
