Just got my Vice 3 yesterday in my Ulta haul, and I need some help putting colors together. I can also take combination suggestions using other palettes-- something I am not good at is mixing palettes. I also have Naked 1, Vice, Sephora ipad palette, and soon to be Chocolate Bar. Anyone use Vice 3 yet and have an awesome eye to show off? Help an eyeshadow impaired girl out! Pictures welcome!
i just saw a commercial for Manga Mascara! It looks so neat to be able to do, and before now, I didn't even think to do my lashes that way. Has this always existed and I just didn't know? Has as anyone done this before, with or without manga "mascara?"
I am wearing a black dress with rhinestone accents to a wedding. I have medium brown eyes and medium toned skin. What are the best color eyeshadows to wear? My daughter says purples because it makes my eyes look pretty. Please advise.
So I'm still on the hunt for what eyeshadow I want to get next, considering I still have credit from a recent return I can burn through. I'm considering a second Marc Jacobs palette (either the Dreamer or the Night Owl). I think pretty much everyone knows I've been on the fence about Vice 3 for weeks. I'm waiting on reviews of the Lorac Mega Pro when it's released this Wednesday. I'm waffling on a Charlotte Tilbury quad or a Chanel Les 4 Ombres. In my dream world I'd just splurge on a couple of Tom Ford quads but I think it's a bit too much to spend on myself until the holidays... and I'm also interested in hearing a little bit about the new Dior 5 Couleurs palettes that were released this fall! I know, I know, so much on my list, but really I'm only intending to buy one for now. Decisions are hard! Anyway, I swatched Trafalgar in store last week and I really thought the textures were quite nice and the colors look beautiful. I'm also interested in palette 456 Jardin (it looks gorgeous), but I haven't seen it in stores yet. Does anyone around here on BT have either of these palettes? If so, how do you like them? How is the wear and texture? I don't own any Dior eyeshadows, let alone any of the new palettes, so I'd love all the information I can get.
It seems like my YT home page has been inundated with reviews of these $5 Colourpop Super Shock cream eye shadows. They actually look quite lovely, but when I see everyone and their mother doing a review for something they were sent on YT, I tend to take those reviews with a heaping grain of salt. Has anyone actually tried these? The price is appealing at least.
For all ladies who are waiting for Kat von D, I went to JCP Sephora to pick up the Vice 3 palette and lo and behold Kat von D's Holiday sets were out! I was completely surprised and excited to get them coz they were not even out online or Sephora store yet but here's a quick look at them on display. The lady told me they just got them in yesterday. I'll take better pics when I get them home.
I absolutely love Blackheart and I do not love the Naked 3 palette. I returned it, but I am contemplating buying it just for Blackheart but I can't see spending the money (again) for a palette I won't use. I also love the liner, but it only comes (as far as I know) in the double liner with Darkside...and I want it as a single. Please?!? Anyone know of any dupes ? I want the sparkle!
I received Vice 3 and got to wear it yesterday. I found the shadows super soft and buttery. I have a lot of UD palettes and singles, but Vice 3 kind of reminds me of the shadow formula in their Pulp Fiction palette. Anyone else? i was particularly interested in the reds. I used Sonic yesterday and it did not look like the color I thought it would when it went on my lid. I didn't dislike it but was just surprised - I was expecting kind of a ruby color. But I loved the base shade I picked and my crease color. It is a palette with lots of options and possibilities! i have that and Ten. I will try to swatch them, especially the liners since I have so many other UD liners already, I can see if there are any that exist that are close. just wondering if anyone else had thoughts on the shadow formulas in Vice 3 or LTD, or on the colors in Ten.
HI I know I've probably asked this question before. DOes anybody have any suggestions on a good smudgeproof long wear eyelinger someone had told me the sephora 24 hr or waterproof one I purchased that one and it would fade. So if anyone can give me a good suggestion on a long staying and non fading one thanks
I've been looking at reviews and everything for a good gel liner, so far I think UD has a good one, I've swatched it and it does a nice job at staying put. But if anyone else has any other brand suggestions. I tried the benefit they're real push up liner and when I get it right, I love the way the formula looks, just a real deep black matte, but I don't like the applicator form. If anyone has good suggestions I'd like to know but so far UD remains inthe lead. I looked up if anyone was raving about this product in the thread but I didn't have any luck finding anything.
I am not sure which palette to get...I love both! But want to chose only one...any suggestions? I am looking for something that could be for summer and fall/winter... help! I am not sure which one to pick...
I have suddenly seemed to develop a sensitivity to my eye makeup remover. I have been using Sephora's Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover ( http://www.sephora.com/waterproof-eye-makeup-remov er-P276319?skuId=1258284) and have been using it for over a year. The last two times I used it, I noticed the next morning that I had flakiness and a redness on my lids and especially in the crease. I'm pretty sure I'm not reacting to any of my eyeshadows or mascara. [I could always try just applying the remover before bedtime (after a makeup-free day) to see if I get the reaction to make sure it's the remover but I'm pretty sure that's what's bothering me (but can do this if someone suggests I do this).] I do have very sensitive skin and so was happy to be using the Sephora stuff. I no longer wear waterproof mascara but it seems that the removers that aren't for waterproof are more lackluster in removing makeup. My eye makeup consists of MAC Pro Longwear concealer, shadow under brow and on lid/crease, eye pencil, and mascara on top/bottom lashes. So there's a lot I wear at one time and I need something effective! I've had a severe immediate reaction to Clinique Take the Day Off balm, so please no recommendations to use this. My skin also doesn't seem to like the Neutrogena makeup removers. I find using an eye makeup remover separately from any face makeup removers works for me and that face makeup removers alone (such as Boscia stuff) don't work effectively enough in removing eye makeup. I like to soak a Shiseido cotton square with eye makeup remover and then hold the square on top of my lid for about 10-15 seconds and then I just press it around the area and dab off the eye makeup--no rubbing. So I'm pretty sure that my method of removing eye makeup is not causing the flaking/redness. I have used organic coconut oil before to loosen my makeup first but I dislike the residual oil that seems to remain no matter what and I find using coconut oil alone isn't that effective. I have looked over the ingredient list of the Sephora brand and can't zero in on any problematic ingredient. Does anyone have experience in figuring out what could be causing issues? I'm sensitive to Methylisothiazolinone (MI) but that isn't an ingredient in the Sephora remover. Any thoughts? Recommendations from those who have sensitive eyes or went through this with eye makeup remover would be greatly appreciated. Ingredient list : -HydroSenn+: Moisturizes intensely; forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface to retain water for optimal moisture that lasts all day. -Procapil®: Supports natural lash growth. -Cornflower Extract: Softens and soothes skin. -Pro-vitamin B5: Supports natural cell renewal and has moisturizing properties. Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Butylene Glycol, Dipotassium Phosphate, Caprylyl Glycol, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Maltodextrin, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Poloxamer 184, Hydroxycetyl Hydroxyethyl Dimonium Chloride, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract, CI 61570 (Green 5), CI 42090 (Blue 1 Lake), Apigenin, Oleanolic Acid, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, BHT.
Hi all, I'm looking for some feedback please. I think I am lucky in that I naturally have long lashes, but the flip side is I can't seem to keep them curled. If I don't wear mascara, I curl them in the morning when I do my makeup and I still have a little curl by the end of the day. But if it's a mascara day, I curl them, apply my mascara and the curl will only last a few hours. By lunchtime my lashes are back to being straight (boo!) Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the curl longer? I've tried the old heat the curler with a blowdryer first, and I also had one of those heated curlers, but I found no appreciable difference. I was told once you shouldn't curl your lashes once you've applied mascara, because it can cause them to break. Is that true? Suggestions greatly appreciated.
Hi kids! This is my first 'conversation' so please forgive me if I'm doing something wrong. I realized that I have zero good quality blue eye shadows and I was wondering what everyone's favorites are! I've always been afraid of looking like Mimi (see photo for reference) so I tend to go for neutrals or metallics. I have brown eyes and light/medium skin Please share your favorites so I can start a shopping list! <3M
hey everyone, i was wondering what naked palette you guys would recommend for a 14 year old. Before you start saying that I shouldnt wear makeup, i am actually allowed to and I dont just do it for confidence. I do it because makeup is a passion of mine. Anyway, I want to expand my makeup collection and wanted the opinion of others. Im really contemplating between the naked2 and the naked basics.
Am I the only one who does not think the They're Real Mascara by Benefit is the bees knees? Seems everyone is obsessed! It's dry hard clumping has caused me to lose lashes. I have tried dabbing a TINY bit of eye make up removed on my lashes before swooping with this mascara and it seems to help a bit. However, I happen to LOVE the push up liner. It is perfect for someone who has no hand eye coordination, lol. What have you ladies experienced? Any suggestions?
I have a upcoming event (pop punk concert) that I'm going to and I really want to do a smokey eye. I want something that is clearly smokey and sultry but a little grunge too and in a perfect world something that will make my green eyes pop. I was hoping for some shadow and technique recommendations. My info: medium brown hair. light complexion. green eyes. Thanks
So, I've been eyeing the YSL Couture Palettes for a few months now, and I keep flip flopping between a few different palettes. In addition, some of them are not displayed in my local Sephora (such as the top one). Here's my shortlist: Couleurs 11 Couleurs 09 So, my questions are: 1) Are there any other ones I should be considering? 2) What are people's experiences with YSL eyeshadows? 3) Do I really need the Couleurs 09 if I have the Urban Decay Naked 3? I understand that this palette is more warm-toned than the UD one, but I don't want to be wasteful with this purchase.
I have sensitive skin in general. If I put on any kind of eye makeup, I am fine for 8-12 hours. But when I remove the makeup (does not matter how I do it: using a wash, wipes, makeup remover), my upper lid swells up for a day or so. I have to skip a day of eye makeup to go back to normal. I have thrown mascaras away thinking the tube is too old, no difference. I truly think if I sleep in my makeup, I will be fine (not that I want to do that). I have noticed the more tugging I do on the lid, the more the swelling. I use UD primer on lids, I also tried too face primer with no difference. I use origins eye cream on lower lid but nothing for upper lid.I use dior mascara, UD shadows, smashbox concealer for lower lid( which is starting to cake for no good reason). Any suggestions? thanks in advance. I would go to a sephora store for advice but the closest one to me is an hour away!
I'm going makeup shopping tomorrow and have been dying to get an eyeliner specifically for winged looks, the only problem is I have absolutely no idea which liners are best for that. Is it better to use a pencil, liquid, gel, etc. and of these which eyeliners specifically work best? I have a concert coming up that I really want to try this look for! Thanks so much in advanced xo
I didn't see anything posted yet about these new palettes, but saw them on Ulta and I'm thinking of using my 20 percent discount to pick one up. A little pricey at $49 each, but it looks like a really nice palette! Top to bottom, they are Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit. Now to decide which one!
I need help with really bad dark circles. They are hereditary, no matter what I do they are not going anywhere. On top of that they are deep set. The concealer wears off very fast and it always ends up creasing. If that's not all, I have golden undertones. It is very difficult to find a color that matches my skin and it never looks right; I end up with a grayish shadow. I need help. I'm tired of looking tired with make up on.
I used to wear MAC beautiful iris but I find it to be a bit too blue/purple. can someone suggest a lilac eyeshadow that's a bit softer, less blue? also, a purple or burgundy liner to complement green/hazel eyes? thank you all!
I want to find an everyday, day to night, neutral kind of palette. One that will especially make my hazel eyes POP. Also an eyeliner color that will make them stand out, black in my opinion is too harsh, so something besides black that will make them stand out and can also be used in the water line!!
