I'm starting to look for a good waterproof mascara for my wedding. I really would like it to lengthen and volumize without me having to use something else? Should I use a mascara primer? If so which ones? Any suggestions?
Also anothere question, I have basicaly black eyebrows, do I need brow powders to define them? or just a good waxing/threading?

I love Tarte's light Camera Lashes waterproof and regular mascara. it curls, volumizes and lengthens. The mascaa is also full of ingriediants that help to condition and promote healthy lashes.

Oh my gosh, I didn't even see the 2nd part of your question....I was half asleep at the time but still. Noticed when I read a snippet another gal wrote.
Regarding your brows, what do you currently do with your eyebrows? How soon is the wedding?

My wedding is still a ways away. It's the 1st of September. I know I'm gonna get my eyebrows threaded but to define them I don't really want to buy an entire brow kit for just the one day. I normally don't fill in my brows and have no idea how. Does anyone think maybe some dark brown eye shadow work as long as it's matte? or should I get a sample or something?

Personally, I like Urban Decay's Cannonball. It's waterproof, and is a fiber mascara... meaning~ that it's going to attach little fibers to your lashes to give the illusion that you have longer and more lashes.
In addition, I really dig Diorshow Maximizer underneath any mascara. It acts as both a plumping primer and a conditioning lash treatment.
In regards to your brows, a good wax/thread session the day or two before your wedding would be a good idea. I still recommend (as I have dark brows that are thick too), still filling them in just a tinsy bit just for added definition (not with black, with a dark brown) and using concealer to essentially outline your brows (you blend it out, obviously). But that method helps highlight your brows and helps to hide any little stray hairs that may have been missed. It's also a good way to get out of waxing/plucking/threading for a few weeks.

Hi! I've used Tarte Lights Camera Splashes waterproof mascara for a long time now-I'm on my third tube. This mascara doesn't clump, flake, or budge all day long, and beautifully defines and lengthens my lashes. I have pretty average lengthed lashes and this mascara really makes my eyes pop! It's the only thing that has lasted through tons of sweat (I can wear this to the gym). Hope this helps!

SORRY That This Is So Long, Hope You Can Get Through It
Hi sammiebaby & congrats! A great, but unusual, mascara to try is called Blinc Mascara - sometimes called Kiss Me Mascara. There is also a primer in the same line which I Highly recommend getting. The unusual thing about this mascara is that when you apply it, it forms little 'tubes' around each lash, sounds stange, I know. But it works. I've used it a number of times and it's like nothing else, I've used it with and without the primer and the primer makes a Huge difference.
In order to remove it you should lean over the sink (or it's fine if you're standing in the shower) and wet your lashes repeatedly and very gently roll your fingers over-around your lashes, this loosens the 'tubes' then you can just splash them away or wipe away gently if you prefer. (I put the emphasis on 'gently' only because most of us are guilty of being too harsh on our lashes, the more gentle you are overall, the less lash fall out you may have)
ALERT: This Freaked Me Out, That's Why I'm Sharing It With You So Strongly. After you splash away the tubes and start to stand up and open your eyes, if you are anything like me......hate to say this to you but would rather prepare you just in case....okay, here goes....when you look down into the sink it will look like (shudder) little spider legs in the sink! (shudder, shudder) Sorry. That's one of those things like when you don't know if you should peel a band-aid off slowly of just RIP that bad boy right off. So, if you get creeped out like me, maybe that will help, wish somebody had warned me. Although, then maybe I wouldn't have purchased it. Who knows.
I don't purchase it regularly only because I'm not wearing mascara every day now and I have so many mascaras that I've gotten from TSV Kits primarily by Mally, Bare Escentuals and Smashbox on auto-delivery from QVC.
I've seen it written up in magazines and seen other gals on Sephora who like it too. Buying the primer & mascara makes it a bit more costly but definetly worth it, especially on such a special day. Sephora only carries the mascara and an eyeliner, which I've never tried. Whereever you purchase it from just make sure they have a good reputation and good return policy with no restocking fee. Some sites won't let you return at all, or only unopened within 7days of the placement of the order and only if Mars is in retrograde and you're standing on one leg and twirling a hoola hoop with one arm and holding a grapefruit under your chin when you tape it up and mail it back. Okay, so I can be a little overly dramatic. But seriously, I have seen things like 'unopened within 7 days of shipment of order' - how are ya gonna know if you like it if you can't open it. Guess it's good if you already know you love it and they have some special deal going on or something.
Well good news and bad news, I just checked on Beauty.com for you (I've purchased from them for years - sorry Sephora) They carry a lot of Blinc products (click on 'brands' and then go to blinc) They not only have the primer, mascara and liner, they have other products too. Worst of all, for me, they even carry the mascara in different colors. My green eyes are always looking for a good Aubergine colored mascara to wake them up, they have purple listed, now that I know, I'm gonna have to give it a try. I'll hold off for as long as I can, I do love my Sephora. Beauty.com has a good return policy, they have a 'color guarantee' return policy, so if you purchase anything with color (lips, nails, shadows etc) and don't like it, you can return it within 30 days. They even have a 5% rebate program. Be sure to read about these for yourself if you go there. Sephora and Beauty.com are my all time faves, they have good return policies and customer service.
If you are a first time buyer @ beauty.com, sign up for emails, they may send you a coupon code, or you can call their 800# customer service, you can often get a coupon for several dollars off of your purchase (they have lots of other promos too, different $ off depending on your purchase total and gifts with purchase etc.)There are some websites that have coupon codes for them as well. So, if you're new to them, take a look all around and enjoy yourself. They are linked with drugstore.com, so everything your purchase from either site goes into the same basket and shipping is free over $25.00 - sorry again Sephora. If you need any help, please let me know, I'll be glad to do what I can. Once again, congratulations, can I ask when you're getting married? It would be amazing if you'd post a picture, might feel strange though, not sure if I would either, a little too public. If you make friends here you can always send pictures to them in Private Messages I believe.
Anyhow, I hope we'll chat again. I wish you all the happiness in the world. I also hope you'll try it and love it and remain committed and devoted for life - to the mascara and the marriage. Best of everything to you. ![]()
SORRY THIS WAS SO LONG - Hope You're Able To Get Through It - I'm Hoping It Will Provide You With Good Info and Hopefully a Little Laugh As Well. ![]()

Sephora carries Make Up For Ever in Aqua Smoky Lash in Extra Black. It says it will give volume, length, and Curl. I'm not so sure if it curls on its own. I've tried three mascaras (one found at Sephora not including M.U.F.E., one dept. store, and one from a drugstore.)I like M.U.F.E. compared to Dior. And I probably should have added Dior's primer to see if that helped when paired with the mascara. Yet, so far this is the best I've had from this store. I know that I tried a brand from a department store counter and liked it. However, I must have been allergic to the fibers because my eyes itched. Makeup For Ever brand seems best out of the other brands I've tried. Still, be careful of some smearing on your upper eye lid with M.U.F.E. I believe this is a common problem. Maybe use a translucent silica based setting powder to eliminate that issue. I hope this is somewhat helpful.
I'd say maybe add a little bit of eyebrow powder since you'll most likely be wearing foundation (or a B.B. cream), lipstick, and eyeshadow. It may help complete the look. I would use it if you have sparse areas on your eyebrows, too. It helps to pull a look together. If you do decide to use an eyebrow powder: dab the powder in with the brow brush. I've tried swiping and it doesn't look as nice. Then I comb excess out with the Sephora brow/eyelash comb.
Congratulations & Good Luck!
