So I want to do a really dramatic, dark smokey eye for an event coming up, but every time I do, I end up looking cheap.
I use a shimmery silver on the lower brow, line with a black eyeliner, use a darker silver/grey on the upper lid, and some liner on the bottom. Any tips on how I can get a really intense, lasting smokey eye?

First, use urban decay's eye primer potion for the staying power. Then, for the smoky eye. I myself have bluish-greenish eyes, and I use a kit. You NEED one for a simple, yet dramatic smaoky eye. I use benefit cosmetic's "big beautiful eyes " for a more neutral smoky eye, and "smokin' eyes" when I need extra drama. Both come with everthing you need including brushes and instructions. So handy...
Hope this helps!![]()

I would definitely recommended going with a purple color. The Bare Escentuals Urban Vibe set comes with a peachy base color, a smoky violet color for the lids and crease, and a teal eyeliner. It's so pretty on green eyes!

I use medium pinks dark purples and a touch of a dark green for a smokey eye when I go green!

I have hazel eyes with a lot of green in them. Sephora's Purple Smoky Eye kit really makes my eyes "pop" and because it's all in the kit, it comes out flawless. Hope this helps!

I like to start by applying a shimmery taupe color all over my lid, then applying a matte or glittery black color on my outer V, then i apply a light shimmey eyeshadow in the inner corners, apply a dark black eyeliner to my water line, line your upper lashline with a dark black also, smudge out the eyeliner to your lower lashline, then apply a dark mascara.
I used this look last night and everyone loved it, the taupe keeps the smokey eye from looking too harsh, but it helps bring out the green in your eyes! Hope I helped! Check out my youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/ElizabethsVanity?featu

Purples and gold look great on green eyes. Black eyeliner is fine, but perhaps a dark gunmetal or dark plum would work better and not look so harsh.

I have green too! It's the colors your using. Try browns and golds instead of the silvers and blue and you should get a look you like better. Purples are also great. And make sure you line with a brown instead of black. Good Luck!

Maybe the colors you're using don't show up enough or don't have enough contrast? On Green eyes, colors that will make your color stand out more include certain shades of blue, violets, plums, lilacs, tan, taupe and anything with a reddish tone to it.
