Mascara Finder: by Eyelash Type

I ♥ mascara, but it can be a love hate relationship sometimes. I can also tell that just like foundation, different formulas do not work for everyone and they are labeled accordingly. Not just light, medium, or full coverage, but note they are best for dry, oily, or combo skin types. I like some of the mascara finders that are out there, but I think they are somewhat one dimensional. They only note the end result (volumizing, lengthening, etc.). It wasn't until I saw one of makeup by tiffany d's vlog postings that I realized just because a mascara says its volatizing doesn't mean it will work on my eyelash type. There are wet formulas, dry formulas, and everything in between. Most of us repurchase mascara more than any other product, and I often want a few formulas for different occasions.

Does anyone know of something like this out there? I think it would be super helpful.

My eyelash type:

Long

Very Straight (difficulty holding a curl)

Moderate Volume

Dark

What I want for everyday:

Volume

Clean Definition

Curling

What I want for drama:

Big time volume

Definition

Darkening

I know it's frustrating trying to find the right mascara. I think we wish there was  a mascara that could do it all, If you lashes are already long try going just for definition and volume, try YSL faux cils, it's expensive but I think you'll love it!!

Your welcome ! I really love it. You can build a bold look and your lashes won't feel like they are going to break off.

Hiya Elea....Unfortunately, I don't know of any mascara matcher similiar to a foundation matcher.  But I totally agree with you, mascara is like foundation in that different formulas work differently for different people.  I purchased Sephora's lash stash kit during the holiday sale and it came with like 10 different mascaras which I have been testing since December. My favourite so far was Too Faced Lash Gasm.  It has a thin rubber brush with many small bristles and I found that it worked the best to give me that dramatic look,. Its great at grabbing each lash and the formula glides easily (more wet than dry) and is a very black, black.  But anyway, those sets are great for testing out different formulas.  But yeah its too bad you can't just punch your parameters in a calculator and have it spit out recommendations lol xo

Thanks Elizabeth. You definitely hear about wet verses dry macara formulas, and ones that are better for shorter lashes verses long straight ones. I think it would be fantastic to demistify the whole thing. I will have to give the lash stash a try so thanks for the recommendation.
