eye shadow and liner
I have hazel eyes, fair skin, athough it is a little tan right now, dark blond hair and am looking for suggestions on eye makeup. What would be a universally flattering color for eyeliner and eyeshadow? Also, how do I know if I need to apply a highlighter? I am 38 and just now starting to learn about make up!! I always think the eyeshadow has to match the color of the clothes. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Hi! The best part about makeup is that there are no real rules. I never match my makeup to my clothing-it's just a matter of preference. For your hazel eyes, I would recommend wearing gold, peach, champagne/pale pinks, bronze, copper, and plum eyeshadows. For liner, I would go with brown instead of black, since it may appear too harsh against your fair skin and blonde hair. If you wear a neutral shadow like gold, peach, or pink, you can go for a colored liner-I'd recommend the MUFE Aqua eyes liner in 4L (plum shade):
For highlighter, do you mean on the face or the eyes? Many people like to use a shimmery pale shadow on the inner corners (tearducts) to brighten the eyes, and on the brow bone too. On the face, many people use shimmery creams/powder on the cheekbones to accent them to highlight. Both of these are completely optional, just give a little extra definition. Hope this helps!
