There's clearly an underlying trend with my faves, but I promise they all translate differently on the eyes and for different purposes . These are all part of the permanent range and/or are still available for purchase. -Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in B-day Suit: This is my favorite base to use on days when I'm wearing neutral powdered eyeshadows. Despite its sheer nature, it really amps up any taupes or grays I layer over it. I find that Benefit Creaseless shadows aren't too long-wearing, which is why I prefer using them as bases. One pot will also last you for a couple of years without drying out. (MAC paint pots, I'm looking at you!) -Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Initiation: One of the best holiday purchases this year, this bad boy is packed with shimmer and glitter -- perfect for this time of year! However, the glitter particles do not migrate throughout the day. This is probably one of the more opaque Illusion D'ombres Chanel offers, and it's just beautiful. Just go and pick it up. You'll be thanking me later -Diorshow Fusion Mono in 821 Chimere: This is perfect for days when I'm running late but still want something on my eyes with minimal effort. Chimere pulls rose gold under some lights and goldish brown in others -- truly a multi-faceted shade! The shimmer is quite noticeable, don't get me wrong, but it's still toned down enough that I would say is work appropriate. -Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige: Maybelline really outdid themselves with these Color Tattoos, as I find them far superior than MAC paint pots in terms of staying power and not creasing as the day goes on. I particularly like using Barely Beige as a base for champagne and peachy-pink powdered shadows. I haven't had any issues with these cream shadows drying out, but even if they did, I'm not complaining as they're a fraction of the price of most higher end ones. -Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Shadow in Slate: I'm a huge fan of the Tarte Amazonian line for the eyes, and the huge dent in the pot is a good indication of how often I reach for this product. It's the perfect taupe shade in a cream form for me, as it pulls neither too warm nor too cool on my eyes. Again, another one of those pop on the lids and blend into the crease with my fingers of a shadow and I'm out the door. What are some of your favorite cream shadows?
http://www.sephora.com/colorful-eyeshadow-portfoli o-P377681?skuId=1596121 Is it just me, or is Sephora tripping? $600 for 80 of their no name eyeshadows? You can buy those Coastal Scents palettes for like $40. I can't believe anyone would buy this.
I know there are quite a few posts about the Naked Palettes, but the responses I've read haven't really told me what I want to know and it's hard to keep everything straight so here Naked 1 vs Naked 2 I have medium tan (think NC30- NC35, NARS Stromboli etc) skin with olive undertones and I have dark brown hair and eyes. I've been eyeing up the Naked 1 palette for years but haven't committed yet because I didn't know how much I would use it. I think I'm ready to get one now though, since I do have the $20 off waiting to be used, and I've started getting into eyeshadows more but I do not have a neutral palette yet. I would like to know which of the palettes you own, how often you reach for each and whether or not you find them to be worth it, compared to other neutral-ish eye palettes out there. Lastly, I think out of the three (I don't think I can wait for Naked 3 to launch on Sephora but still), Naked 1 would likely be the most useful/flattering for me, but if anyone has any other opinions, they would be really appreciated.
I am NOT getting a consensus from the answers I've been receiving from the nyc stores and from the posts I've seen IDK if the answer has been made clear yet, but my apologies if I missed it somewhere. Do we have a definitive launch date for Sephora for UD's Naked 3? Thanks, and again so sorry If I overlooked something, I really want to used my $20 off on this not spend it too soon only to have N3 come out a few days later!
I'm just getting into eyeshadows, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest which Naked Palette would look best on my skin tone? I've attached a picture for reference. Just wondering if I should spend my December coupon on Palette #3, or instead go in store and test all of them at some later point when the hype has died down.
Hey girls, So I happen to LOVE the colour red. I thought why not ask your thoughts on wearing red eyeshadow or red eyeliner ?. I know it's not a colour most people would be able to pull off. However I believe there are a lot of you ladies who would be willing to try and make it work or have made it work :-D
Hi everyone, So I have been a lover of Urban Decay's Primer Potions for a few years now. Recently I have noticed that my eyelids are starting to crease no matter what eyeshadow I wear. I have even just put the primer on alone and I still see it crease! I find this really strange because it has never creased for me before and I know that my primer isn't old because I just bought a new one a few weeks ago and it creases as well. I'm not sure if it may be the new packaging of the primer that makes the formula not mix properly but I really don't know what's going on! Thanks for the help!
Hi everyone I am just now getting back into makeup after years of not wearing any and my dear husband would like to get me some new shadows for Christmas and I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all the choices. I keep looking and it seems like there are a ton of palettes to choose from but I want one or two that are good for everyday use, as well as to glam it up for social functions. I am a stay at home mom so I don't go out a ton and tend to do a more natural look when I do my makeup. I have medium brown hair that has mahogany in it, my eyes are a piercing blue (I normally wear glasses but do occasionally wear contacts) and my skin tone is fair with pink undertones. Budget is $100 so I was hoping to get a few palettes I just feel a bit overwhelmed. Thanks!
Hi guys! I'm new to BT and excited to learn from and share with all you lovely beauty pros I'm curious about what everyone's go-to eyeliner look is. I tried to line my lower waterline once or twice, and I feel like it looked odd with my eye shape and emphasized the bags under my eyes. But maybe I just don't know how to apply it very well! Does anyone else just do the top of their eye? I regularly do a subtle cat-eye, and switch up the color and thickness according to the occasion. How about you guys? Feel free to share pictures!
Hi all! I'm searching for a new mascara, and I'm not sure which one would be best for me. It can be from Sephora or the drugstore. I have fairly long and slightly curled lashes without any mascara on them so I'd like more of a volumizing formula. I can't use L'oreal mascaras - they make my eyes red and itchy. I use Maybelline Colossal now and its just not doing enough for me anymore. Any suggestions at all would be awesome! Hope y'all have a great day!!!
Hi all! I'm looking for a great longwear eyeliner, gel or pencil, in a reddish brown. I already have whiskey and bourbon 24/7 by UD. I like them but sadly they don't last as long as I'd like, I have big time problems with transfer on my lids. I also have rich ground by MAC but I'd love to find one without sparkle or shimmer. I'd especially love if anyone can suggest a great pencil that really lasts. I seem to have better luck with gel ones but would sometimes like to avoid the hassle of using and cleaning the brush. Any suggestions?
Alright bffs I recently purchased my very first Urban Decay pallete and let me tell you I was not dissapointed! (VICE 2) i wanted to see what all the hype about the naked palletes i just want one not all three but i cant help but shake the feeling they are all colors i have or i can easily get ahold of? i dont want the naked basics pallette only because i see a better bargain in just investing in a naked pallete but the question is which one? Red hair Golden/ Peachy undertones
I have been using Lancome's Cils Booster for quite a long time now, and I am wanting to try something different. The Lancome seems to clump quite a bit on me, but I do like the microfibers in it. I have also tried the Dior Lashpluming Serum and don't really like it. I want something that will thicken and lengthen my lashes a bit. Do any of you gals have a holy grail product that you would like to share? http://www.sephora.com/cils-booster-xl-super-enhan cing-mascara-base-P128706?skuId=852939
I am looking for a neutral eyeshadow palette ( preferably more matte shades). I saw this palette in Sephora the other day and wondering if anyone has tried it yet. If not, any recommendations on other neutral palettes?
Right now lime crime is having a 30% off sale, and I have been eyeing the "aquataenia" palette. So, anyone try any of the palettes? Is the pigmentation good? Are they "true to color"? Thanks for your input!
Hey girls, So I am currently editing my word document on Mascara's To Try and so far I have only a few listed that I would like to check out. URBAN DECAY - Cannonball BARE MINERALS - Lash Domination TARTE - Lights,Camera,Splashes ! TOO FACED - Better Than Sex Now I am wanting to know what Mascara's You LOVE and what you'd recommend for me ?. I'm big on volume most of all not so much curling. As long as it is INTENSE BLACK !. Now I have 2 other questions I would like to ask 1.) Is there a dupe for the Covergirl Lashblast Luxe ? 2.) Does Lancome use perfume in their Mascara ?
Hi Everyone, So lately I have been sick of changing mascaras soooo many times and it pains me to say but I can't do it anymore! HELP. I have been thinking about trying Benefits They're Real! Mascara. Any recommendations on mascaras?
I am having issues with eye shadow fallout. It is getting to the point that I am having to put my foundation on after I do my eyes since it keeps getting messed up with the fall out. Here are the steps I use in putting on my eye makeup. Tell me if I am missing something. 1) eye shadow primer (Urban Decay, Lorac, Too Faced.. Whichever one is handy) 2) The eye shadows are generally from palates of the above listed brands (So I don't think the shadow is bad causing fall out). 3) I apply the shadow using various brushes. I have the Too Faced Teddy bear brushes, and the Kat Von D brush set. I'm thinking that maybe their is some Holy Grail brush(preferably available on Sephora) that may eliminate fall out. Thanks for whatever help you can provide.
i fell madly in love with Stila sensational in sydney over the past year. but i can't seem to find it anymore. does anyone have a good recommendation for one similar? make-up intimidates me so now i'm very confused finding another good neutral palette to you. thanks!
Rumors were flying on here that this was being permanently discontinued - it hasn't been available online or in any stores around me (I've checked 4!) But I stumbled upon this today on the site and no idea if people knew about this but if you want it - grab it now! (Sorry if this has been posted already, I couldn't find anything recent) http://www.sephora.com/ladybird-true-romance-eyesh adow-palette-P378616?skuId=1467166
Searching for an eye shadow (ideally powder) that delivers a "glowy" finish similar to Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders . I'm currently using HG Ambient Lighting Incandescent on my eyes, but it's not pigmented/dense enough to really show up. Look for a glowy satin-sheen finish , NOT shimmer or sparkle ideally (EDIT: most of the recs I get are for shimmery and sparkley products, so I'm editing to clarify ). I'm thinking an ivory, nude, pearl, or similar pale shade. NO pinks and lavenders (darn) because of red pigment allergies. There's an older thread [ http://community.sephora.com/t5/Eyes/Recs-Creamy-S tick-Shimmer-for-Eyes/m-p/814031#M6623] where I was searching for a stick/cream shadow, but on that thread I was down with shimmer... Now I'm looking for something with more subtle sheen... Might help someone else out to look at the other threads though... some great recs but most of them were either a) too pink, or for some reason I had an allergic reaction (looking at you, Highbrow), or b) nice but too shimmery, sparkley or glittery. LM Caviar stick is great but too sparkley. Stila Kitten is great but a little sparkley, and also a bit pink so I'm worried about my sensitive eyes reacting with my red pigment allergy. I'm going to try powders nown to see if I can find some non-shimmer/glitter options.
There are so many different eye shapes, and each one of them generally has a certain technique or trick to compliment them. I have generally hooded eyes where you can barely see the lid. I have noticed that putting dark crease colors a little higher than my actual crease helps my eye look a little more "open" then they are! Also, not putting a shimmer color on the brow bone helps because that is not the feature that i want to stand out! So what is your eye shape and what have you learned to do or not to do! Here are some images i found on google to help you determine what shape you have!
