I was sooo disappointed to find out that Dior had discontinued their Extase line of mascara and need a good alternative. Tried Better than Sex, Rollerlash, They're Real (different but better than the others), Diorshow, ect but haven't found one that lives up to Extase. Your suggestions are appreciated- thank you.
Has anyone shopped online Miss A? I saw a Yahoo article on it today. Everything is $1. This includes makeup, scarves, jewelry, masks, supplies, etc. I'm sure at $1 it's probably not the greatest quality, but they have a huge selection. Has anyone tried it?
I realized that the last time I purchased any new eye palettes was almost two years ago and my oldest one being 3 years old (TF original Chocolate Bar palette). That explains why I am a little bored with what i have. My current collection is the TF chocolate bar, semi sweet and born bon palettes as well as the TF sugar pop palette and the Tarte Aqualillies (my absolute favorite palette) palette. I am incredibly fair (I wear TF Born This Way in Snow) with blue eyes and light brown hair. I don't know if it is the age of my palettes but the TF chocolate bar palettes seem to be harder to blend than they used to, unless that is my imagination. I am uninspired by a lot of the palettes out right now but the two I am eyeing are the TF sweet peach and the Tarte tartlette in bloom. I am looking for something that will create a nice daytime look but can go a little darker for nighttime if needed. It seems lately that all my looks turn out darker, but that could just be me getting carried away trying to use a lot of shades. I am curious to try more Tarte eye products as I love the Aqualillies palette and it is my only experience with Tarte eye products. Does anyone know if they have a new eye palettes coming out soon? What do you think of the two palettes I am eyeing? Are they good options or should I stear clear? I forgot to mention, I have cool undertones if that helps. Thanks!
I have very short eyelashes that even with mascara don't seem to look any better. False eyelashes bug my eyelashes towards the inner parts. I am considering an eyelash growth serum. I have a friend who uses the Rodan+Fields Lash boost but am hesitant against those types of companies. Espcially when they make you pay a starter fee to buy their products at a discount. Anyone have any luck with the RevitaLash Advanced or the Rodan+Fields? Or even something else? I don't want to have to take pills though. Thanks!
as much as i love maybeline's mascaras, they smudge and flake like crazy. i need something that lengthens and separates (like maybeline's one by one) and keeps my long lashes from falling down over my eyes. most importantly i need something that doesn't give me raccoon eyes. p.s. i've tried hypnose, it burns like crazy. i guess my eyes are sensitive too.
Comparing to other gel eyeliners I've tried Marc Jacobs #highliner glides on perfectly, with great pigmentation and it blends so well that I couldn't believe. I used to be a Urban Decay liners' fan but now it is my favourite one. It totally worthes every cent! And lasts all day! I received it as complimentary product from @influenster and @marcbeauty and I can't wait to buy more colors and play with them all! #contest
I'm addicted to Stila Smudge Stick but the caps are terrible, constantly fall off or crack, leading to dried up twist pencils and wasted $. I read I can re-soften with a little heat, but is the effect permanent or do I need to apply heat every time? Threw all my dried ones away and I'm trying to decide whether to re-invest in new pencils with bad caps. Also, the candle trick is described for wooden pencils but what about twist-up pencils from a plastic tube like Stila? Thanks!
Hi! So I finally purchased a modern renaissance palette after seeing the 4.8 star reviews and the very pretty swatches! However..... I can't seem to get a nice look on me without looking like I bruised my eye! I usually use either the UD naked 3 palette or TooFaced Peach Palette.. I've also tried youtubing for looks but none of them see workable. If you have any tips on what colors to put wherever on the eye, please let me know! I don't want to have to return the palette! The colors are soooo pretty! Preferably I'd like less intense looks, more of a subtle look (I have fair color skin, dark brown eyes, asian so no crease but big eyes, ) Thanks!
Does anyone remember this palette? It is my favorite palette of all time and has been my white whale (Moby D!ck) since it was discontinued (darn LE)! This palette was perfection, but 3 shadows stole my heart, namely hammock (coffee brown that blends like a dream), bikini (duo chrome peachy tan is the best way I can describe it but doesn't do it justice and my absolute favorite shade in this palette) and sun deck (a light tan). This palette was an impulse purchase in 2013 and since it is no longer available I ration my usage of it. I have hoped Tarte would release these colors again under a different name in another palette but haven't found that to be the case. Can anyone suggest dupes of these shadows (especially hammock and bikini) by any brand in singles or a palette?
I have the Kevyn Aucoin Contour Book Volume II (shortening the product name) and love soft the shimmer shadows look are on the eyes. Does anyone know of any other formulas that are like it? I just love this type of shimmer for daytime; it feels really sophisticated for the office.
The first few times I used this eyeliner (with and without primer, with and without shadow) it went on perfectly. One swipe, full coverage and no transferring to my lid. After about 5 days it started transferring to my lids after 20 minutes of being on. In the past 2 days, even after storing tip down and shaking, it's going on lightly so i've had to put on more than one coat. The transferring was even worse! I'm not sweating - just driving to work. Is this usual or does it sound defective? Thank you for your thoughts!
Hi BT Ladies, I just tried the Loreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara this morning, and did my right eye first. To my delight it gave me super long, separated lashes with amazing curl. I was beyond ecstatic. My go-to mascara was MUFE Smoky Extravagant, but this worked even better than MUFE, and is a lot cheaper...so I was sooo happy... Then I did my left eye. I have no idea what happened? The left eye lashes turned out extremely wimpy, short, and clumpy, with no curl, and was just overall a horrible mess. It looked like my left and right eyelashes belonged on two different people. They just did not match what-so-ever. I've had this happen with other mascaras, where my left eyelashes turn out not as nice as the right, but never such an extreme difference as today with the Loreal Butterfly mascara. So a few questions for you lovely ladies: 1. Have you had experiences where you lashes were uneven either with or without mascara? (in terms of length, volume, curl, etc). 2. What mascaras tend to give more uneven results / what was the shape of the brush? (I find that the uneven lashes issue happens the most with asymmetrical brushes) 3. What do you think is the cause of this? 4. Any tips or tricks on how to make your lashes look even on both sides? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! (FYI, I'm right handed. Also, when I do my left eyelashes, I still use my right hand, but twist my wrist the other way, so that the tip of the mascara wand is facing towards the inner corner of my left eye).
I've been considering purchasing a high end eyeshadow palette. I have narrowed it down by process of YouTube videos and what color schemes look most appealing to me. Between the Tartlette In Bloom palette and the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, which should I pick and why?
Going to Hawaii in May and wanting a easy travel eyeshadow palette that can take me from day to night. I have the Too Faced Matte eyeshadow palette and hate it, as the colors tend to not blend well and get muddy very quickly. I am looking at: NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow palette Tartelette Tease Tartelette in Bloom Tartelette Pro Amazonian Clay Bare Minerals Bare Neutrals Any opinions on these? Thanks in advance!
I haven't been active in a looooong time. Now that my kid is almost 5, I'm starting to have time for me and looking for some advice on liners. Ready to play around with winged liners, etc and am looking for excellent pigmentation and waterproof. What's your favorite????
Hi all! I'm not all too sure if there's even such a thing as gothic makeup (as far as the look goes), but thought I'd ask if anyone has any tips for eyeshadow/blush application and any brands geared towards that aesthetic. I'd love if you guys could share any youtubers, instagrammers, or even pics of yourselves for inspiration!!!
